I don't get why IraqWarVeteran8888 has such a hardon for ruger 10/22s and thinks they're good for home defence and SHTF, anyone understand his reasoning? Is .22lr actually good for non sporting applications?

Is .22lr actually good for non sporting applications?
not the end all be all but it definitely has a lot of applications.
What can it do in terms of damage? Wouldn't it take too long to kill to be good?
>>30651238
R8 my 10-22. Only gun I have atm and ive got it locked and loaded due to recent BLM protests close to my house. I have 500 rounds. Will I be ok?

Id love to go back in time a hundred years and tell Winston Churchill that in a century, England will have a smaller navy than India.
>>30651391
He lived to see the partition.
Here's a stackup.
The UK is the biggest inside the Mediterranean, Turkey is the biggest in The Black Sea, Russia is the biggest in the Caspian, but has in theory the ability to assemble the biggest navy in the Mediterranean aside from the U.S. Iran is the biggest independent navy in the Persian Gulf.
imagine this scenario
you are out numbered and low on ammunition
you then hear your officer scream AFFIX BAYONETS
CHARGE THE ENEMY
what plays in your head as you create blood for the blood god?

Why the nigger are these so fucking expensive?
>>30650857
>MFW I prefer folding stock
>>30650857
Because Bill Ruger literally shit the mini 14 recievers from his ass. Now that he's "dead" its very expensive to keep his body alive for mini 14 production.
The costs are passed on to consumers.

Hey /k/.
Bought my first gun last week and my second gun today. Ended up picking up a cz 75 sp-01. Went out back to shoot it and had four jams in 36 rounds. The previous shot would fire and the casing would eject, but the next bullet would get lodged with the tip in the barrel and the casing still in the magazine and the slide wouldn't close all the way.
This was the ammo I was using: http://www.targetsportsusa.com/aguila-9mm-ammo-115-gr-fmj-097704-p-3657.aspx
Switched to this: http://www.targetsportsusa.com/speer-lawman-9mm-ammo-115-grain-tmj-53650-p-662.aspx
And had absolutely no problems. Later loaded up a magazine with the Aguila and had a jam. Switched back to Lawman, no problems.
It's the ammo that's causing the problem, I'm guessing? I don't think I was limp-wristing (but I could be wrong).
Going to head to walmart and buy some Federal tomorrow.
>>30650803
With some break in (if it is a new handgun) it could very well tolerate worse ammo. Just use it, clean it, and lubricate it and it might start to feed shitty ammo.
>>30650835
It's brand new so maybe that's it.
Thanks
>>30650856
Break in could take awhile, so don't be disappointed after a few boxes of ammo. Honestly, it sounds like your handgun could do with a feed ramp polishing, but I am hesitant to suggest that (unless you bring it to a professional) for a novice gunsmith. Easy way to ruin a gun.
Is anyone else waiting for an order to be fulfilled?
I've had an order with my LGS for a gen 2 G19 sub2000 in limbo since late February. Also, I'm waiting for a RDB to go for MSRP on gunbroker, but I don't think that will ever happen now...

You got a lot longer to wait chief.
It's going to take forever and a half. It's just the way Kel Tec works
Alright fags, lets start talking about some philosophy of use.

I was in Iraq in 2010 during the Last OIF and operation New Dawn, my platoons job was QRF and EOD escort. It wasn't very bad, worst that happened was a set up where we rolled out to investigate when a supposed IED went off and the insurgents detonated another when we got there. My LT got hit in the femoral artery and I controlled the bleeding as we got out of the area.
We also provided security when an insurgent shot down a Kiowa helicopter, that was kinda funny because the Iraqi army was hellbent on catching him alive so they where chasing him around the desert throwing flash-bangs from an up-armored Humvee, that shit went on for hours until he ran out of ammo.
I've gotten mortared too, it wasn't frightening but closest one hit like 150 meters away.
Being bored all the time and told to wait, treated like children the entire time.
When you finally move up in rank and are responsible for junior soldiers, you end up treating them like children because God dammit privates gonna act like children until they man up. OH you are still babied even if you have stripes since muh platoon sgt
What's the most practical way for women to conceal carry when they don't wear baggy clothing?

Rectal carry. It's what all the traps on here use.

I want to mount my midsized handgun to my chest with molle. What's the best holster out there for this kinda setup?
Also your thread is gonna suck OP
>>30650003
Right between the tidders
But in all seriousness, is it even possible to conceal if all of your clothing is near skin tight?
Has any of you ever served inside a military tank?
What's it like? How does it feel? Does it give you some kind of sense of security or something?
No. Fuck your thread.

It's been almost 2 weeks since I dropped my Glock 19 off at my local smith to get night sights installed. They still aren't done with it. If it hits 3 weeks should I just take my business elsewhere?
pic semi related
>>30649862
Sights should not take more than two business days.
>>30649862
that should be done within 15 minutes and under 70 dollars, sights included.
Hey, /k/ I'm writing a little bit of fiction regarding future space colonies and corporate proxy wars and shit, but there are some things I'm unable to find reliable information on.
Let's just assume that a newly colonized world wouldn't have much in the way of an industrial base, and the best locally produced weapons would probably be black powder muskets just because they don't have the industry to produce useful amounts of standard cartridges. Now, let's say the colonists are having a bit of a dispute with an offworld mining corp that's staked out a particularly resource rich area on their planet. The colonists own the charter to the world, but the corporation claims to have bought resourcing rights to the planet. The colonists would just love to kick the claim jumpers out, but they have few modern weapons and a lot of muskets vs mercenaries armed with military surplus and class 3 body armor.
Long story short, I was wondering a few things:
Can you use a suppressor on a black powder or nitrocellulose musket?
How would a 50 cal musket do against modern body armor? And is it possible to jury rig up some kind of armor piercing ammo for a musket or is it just too low velocity?
How would you deal with a hind-equivalent gunship with wild-west era tech?
>>30649791
I want to see a real life tacticool musket now.
>>30650164
Make it happen anon. There are kits for black powder guns if I recall correctly. Glue on a fire select for the lulz
>>30650391
I wish I could afford to spend money doing that.
