North Korea has fired a missile eastwards from its capital, Pyongyang, towards Japan, the South Korean and Japanese governments say.
The missile is likely to have reached an altitude of about 770km (478 miles) and travelled some 3,700km, South Korea's military said.

What will the reactions be if the testing keeps going on?
What if one malfunctions and comes down on Japanese territory?

Which rifle caliber, or pistol caliber do you enjoy shooting the most and why? Let's try to omit considerations of cost per round.

I like shooting .38. special. Something about the recoil impulse that feels great, it has a nice sound, and revolvers are just simply fun to shoot.

You mean for just plinking? .22LR.

Any other answer is wrong.
>>
>>35168320
9mm. Cheap enough to plink with, fun enough I want to.
>>
>>35168320
I shoot .38 Special the most. Affordable to shoot frequently, and pleasant to shoot.

No. A wing commander could not order a nuclear attack by himself.

What if it was the president that went nuts?
>>
>>35168369
If he goes insane and "pushes the button" then we're fucked. The president has sole nuclear command authority and if he orders a launch the only way to stop it would be mutiny.

However, if a majority of the cabinet belIves a president has gone insane and can catch him BEFORE he orders a launch they can relieve him of his authority with a simple letter to Congress (note, this will likely cause a civil war).

>BAE Systems is officially gunning for the U.S. Navy’s new frigate program with its new Type 26 frigate now in production in the U.K.
>Company officials confirmed Thursday it had responded to the U.S. Navy’s request for information and were in talks with unspecified companies in the states about how it would build the ship for the FFG(X) program, according to a BAE official who spoke on background to discuss early developments.
>“In terms of the technical requirements, its a good fit. ... We responded to the RFI and we’re confident its a pretty good fit,” the official said.

The Harrier too but this is all going back a few years and none applies to ships, likewise the RN has not been buying US warships.

Serious question. How different are North Korean military uniforms and their peaked caps from their Soviet/Russian counterpart? I've seen recent images that shows that Russia is getting smaller looking peaked caps compared to their 1990s counterpart and their Soviet hats.
Is there a picture comparison of how similar and different these uniforms and peaked caps are?

Lets say that we have two guns, they both fire the same bullet, they both have the same amount of propellant, they both have the same barrel length, the only difference is that other gun has a larger caliber bore and uses a sabot so that it can fire the same bullet as the other gun, which of these guns will have a bigger muzzle velocity?
198 posts and 42 images submitted.
>>
>>35167583
The one without the sabot because the sabot is added weight needing to be propelled down the barrel
>>
Depends on the length of the barrel.

A larger diameter with a given powder charge will be better suited to a shorter barrel but you'll eventually reach a point where the added friction cancels out the gain in peak pressure
>>
>>35167606
Oh yeah i guess i should have addressed that in my post, lets assume that the sabot has no mass and that it produces the same amount of friction as the bullet traveling down the smaller caliber barrel.

If you're talking a weapons system, gun with a sword has proven to be more effective.
If you're talking anthropomorphic versions of each weapon able to fire what they wield, sword with a gun.
