>questioning the quality of an AK
back to >>>/v/ aussie niggerlord

*AKM

But yeah AKs are a nice design. The build quality really does impact how well they work, but ones made in real Soviet tooling and to military spec are well made.

The 7.62x39mm cartridge is pretty hefty and is useless past like 20 feet on full auto. For an assault rifle cartridge it really is oversized. But it's hella fun to shoot.

The gun is easy to use and easy to disassemble. Reloading it by kicking out an old mag with a new mag is very satisfying. The sights are quick to line up, but not as accurate as peep sights. Sticking a low mounted red dot on an AK really makes it shine.

Before the super cheap ammo got banned, I probably shot my AK-74 more than my ARs. All the upsides of an AK in a more controllable caliber.

They are a good gun there are better guns for different purposes. No one gun is best at anything. Accept it for what it is. An easy to use gun that functions in less than ideal circumstances. Designed for illiterate farmers turned conscripts to use.

>want to get into shooting firearms
>live in fucking europe
>no way of buying a gun before years of enrollment in a fucking "shooting club" that is open once a week
>all you get to shoot with in said clubs are shitty practice range rifles like pic related
>it's that or a "hunting club" where you shoot clay pigeons with buckshot forever

All I want is to try and squeeze some rounds off at a range when I feel like it with a Colt 1911 or something similar without some instructor breathing in my ear

You americans have no idea how good you have it.

You shoot practice rifles till you can use real guns. Don't like it, you can try to change your gun laws (fat chance) or move somewhere better for guns.

What the fuck was the point of this thread? We know your country is gay already.

All this thread is going to be is a bunch of yuros explaining the ridiculous hoops you have to jump through to get a gun, then saying how reasonable that is because yuros are gay. None quite as gay as that one bong who keeps posting that Brits can own semi auto while never mentioning thats for 22lr only.

We've done this a million times. The answer is always either put up with the paperwork in your country, or succ some dicc and marry your way into the us before our gun laws inevitably get raped by Leftists in a few decades too. Pick one now and start on it because they both can take a long time.

Hello /k/, I want to buy an inert F1 grenade and I was wondering, how many times can you pull the pin out before it breaks the pin? I want it to fiddle with but I don't want to break it
>pic related, it was the only pic I could find where it shows the pin

where I have circled red is what I am concerned with, it looks like after a few times of pulling it out and putting it back in it could snap off.

Just bend those two tines together so the pin is straight and not using them as a locking surface.

Is il-2 sturmovik taking a shit on me, am i the worst pilot ever (likely) or were US navy fighters during world war 2 such a piece of shit? In the game its barely able to reach 400 kmh at 6k feets and the zeros outturn and outclimb it. And on top of that, the stupid engine would overheat almost instantly at cruise power.

Were they really that shitty in real life? Was the USAF planes during that era THAT much better?

Anyone have any experience with them? i am feeling very very tempted by several of their figures.
The level of detail is amazing to me: how can they even make folding stocks, functional molle and nexus clips in such a small size? prices also seem right, at least for an autist who has payed 80$ for fixed, 100% molded plastic anime figurines before

do whatever you want with your money just bare in mind that these pictures are usually photshopped so they look "better" than they do in real life. still kinda cool looking though i'd want one for an obscure fighter like a vietnam era LRRPS duder

as for the functional molle and nexus clips they aren't exact replicas. They usually take a slight bit of engineering leeway to make it look like its full size counterpart without making them painfully fragile

Kalashnikov’s New AMB-17 Silenced Assault Rifle at ARMY 2017

On display at the recent Russian Army 2017 expo was Kalashnikov’s new AM-17 and AMB-17 compact assault rifles. The AM-17 is a 5.45x39mm caliber improved version of the MA assault rifle introduced last year, designed to fill the same role as the AKS-74U compact assault rifle/personal defense weapon. The AMB-17 is an integrally suppressed variant of the same, firing the 9x39mm dedicated subsonic round first introduced with the AS Val and VSS Vintorez in the 1980s. Pictures of the new rifles have been posted on various social media outlets, such as TFB contributor and small arms expert Max Popenker’s blog.

The introduction of the AMB-17 in the 9x39mm caliber seems to imply that it will complement or replace the Kalashnikov AK-9 in the company’s lineup, in direct competition against Tula’s more successful AS Val, VSS Vintorez, and SR-3 rifles in the same caliber. Likewise, the AM-17 is likely intended by Kalashnikov to replace the Tula-made AKS-74U in Russian service.

The degree of interest on the part of the Russian government in the new AM-17 and AMB-17 rifles is yet unknown, but the weapons do seem to be strong contenders for modernization of the roles currently filled by the AKS-74U and VSS/AS platforms. A lightweight rifle with modern controls and accessory mounting provisions, that is common between both the compact assault rifle and silenced assault rifle roles sounds like an attractive upgrade.

People often argue the English, French or Israelis are America's "greatest allies"
I find this questionable since our first major wars were against England, and we only assisted them in WWI due to perfidy.
Israel just lets us land our planes in their district so we can have the privilege of fighting their wars for them.
France if fucking France.

Personally I think the Choctaw are America's greatest ally.
