>Get a good deal on an FAL

>Find out almost immediately what that paint was after posting
>Cry softly to yourself
This is why you ask somebody or use google before you permanently modify an old gun

It was probably painted on poorly by some Rhodie LARPer.
Now the poor fuck that sanded the black paint off a Crimean War Berdan rifle was really kicking himself.

Details on the rifle? I haven't heard this story.

Can some on please explain to me the pros and cons of a nuclear powered aircraft carrier?
The only positive I can see is that I can create enough power for EMALS
Nuclear power adds nearly unlimited range and power supply at the cost of being more complex and expensive.
"Unlimited" range/endurance, removing the need to refuel a massive beast of a ship during UNREP.
EMALS from power generation or steam catapults are made far, far more practical with nuclear propulsion, with CATOBAR being the best and most versatile method of operating aircraft at sea.
Cons would be that they are expensive, require extensive knowledge of nuclear power generation (this can't be overstated) and require lengthy downtime when the reactors need to be maintained/refuelled. France suffers heavily from the CdG being nuclear and the only carrier available to them, as it leaves them with a low availability.

This
The only cons are the expense and when it needs to be refueled it's a huge ass pain.
I'm buying this upper with that QD threaded barrel. I found out today that the barrel length is short enough that a stamp is required, or go the SIG brace route. I also just found out that you can get a stamp under the provisions of a "trust." It involves getting the receiver engraved so that the stamp follows the gun itself. I was going to get as cheap as I could on the lower, but now I'm considering getting a forged version now that I have to commit to one. What does /k/ suggest? Pic related is the upper.
Go with the sig brace unless you really, really, really want to get a real stock and your state allows SBRs and you don't mind waiting a year to assemble your gun and spending another $250-300 for the privilege.
I have an AR pistol in 300 BLK with the Shockwave blade. It's really uncomfortable to shoulder, but, I am also a sissy. I think the SB is probably more comfortable.
Once Silencer Shop gets their barcoded form 1 service going, I'm planning on getting a couple Aero precision ambi lowers and SBRing them. It seems dumb to invest all the money and energy into the absolute cheapest Anderson lowers I have now.
>>35164659
What's the barrel length on that ugly-ass upper? You might be able to get one of those QD muzzle brakes pinned & welded on it to make it legal.
>>35164659
Also...you just committed a felony and posted a pic of you doing it on the internet.
Prices aside, which one is the superior battle rifle?
>>35164560
Aesthetics or internal wise?
>>35164560
SCAR is superior, obviously. The FAL has... a carry handle? Longer barrel? I don't really see any advantage that a rifle designed right after WW2 has over a brand new battle rifle.
The SCAR is popular with SOF for a reason, and they have no problem using older weapons if they are legitimately better, like the M79. When a rifle is entirely phased out, it happens for some very good reasons
The lighter, more accurate, more reliable, more modular one
The scar is better in pretty much every way, how is this an argument

Nongun prop.
I want a 10mm handgun that won't break the bank (sub $800).
What's good that won't blow the fuck up in my hand.
>>35164398
I don't think you have many options in that price range. Just the EAA Witness and Glock 20/29/40.
Ruger SR1911
Which company makes better shotguns?
Imho, it's Beretta, though I do understand why Benelli gets more cred from the mall ninja crowd.
Browning.
>>35164092
Franchi.
>>35164092
Benelli makes better tactical/3gun shotguns, Beretta makes better sporting shotguns. It's really dependent on your intended use.
hello /k/
i find myself in need for your help
i'm a programmer and i making a program
long short story i would love if you could help me gather pics of weapons/ammo and the kind of caliber they use
pic of ammo -> the ammo caliber (cuz i dont really know about that by look) what weapon can use that ammo
pic of weapon -> what ammo they use (caliber)
thank you very much it could really help me a lot
>>35164089
So you can program (probably python or java cuz ur clearly fuckin baby or something) and you don't know how to use Google?
>>35164089
This is a Marlin 336 in caliber (diameter of the projectile or bullet as you know it) 30-30. By the way, what exactly are you coding and what language are you using?
>>35164089
>Lahti L-35 pistol
>9mm parabellum (9x19mm)
>kills commies like ebola does niggers
/po/tard here (yes the paper one), first time on this board. So what do /k/ommandos even think of John Wick? I imagine it upped the sales of P30s by a tremendous margin for a bit but otherwise what did you guys think of how gun handling was portrayed, the combat style employed in the flick etc?
Mostly silly hollywood nonsense altho i do like that the main character actually reloads his gun
I think the movie was just a giant wank for the "my hobby is guns" audience. Each time john touches a gun they have to do a close up of the 'super tactical thing you saw on youtube' right before he goes and headshots 3 mindless goons who waddled up to him. Also you can defend the shitty plot by saying "the movie is supposed to be dumb!"
its a movie for people who wear realtree for fashion.

Slayer. Anything Slayer.
I have a 4 inch 1911 that requires a takedown tool. It's cancerous and cost me 750 I have to wait till October 21 to sell it or try to find a buyer on the streets or Armslist.
I ask because what's it like to sell on ArmsList and what happens if I sell a gun to a sketchy dude and he commits a crime with it. Yes there is a gun show loophole in my state.
The Pic isn't the 1911 I'm going to sell.
>>35163719
There's no gun show loophole in any state.
Anyway, it's unlawful to sell a firearm to someone you suspect will use it for nefarious purposes. Just sell it to someone trustworthy.
>>35163719
>gun show loophole
>loophole
There's no such thing, stop watching the electronic jew.
>>35163748
But what if I sell it to a guy that doesn't show ID and have no way of knowledge of whether felon or not.
How does /k/ control their gun habit as far as buying guns and accessories goes? For me, I calculated I could donate plasma every 3 days and make $395 a month to spend how I want. And I can keep doing this so long as I don't get aids or become criminal scum. I just need to stay hydrated and consume lots of protein.
TL;DR
I whore my body out to pay for funs.
>>35163695
I turned 21 a few months ago so I've been on a spending spree for a bit. I put research into my future purchases because I don't want to end up with some shitty gun I don't like. Also, I like to keep $2000 in my safe at all times if there is a gun that I really want to get.
>>35163695
I went to college and got a job instrumentation in a powerplant at the age of 21 making 27.50/hr as an apprentice. I live within my means, have 15k saved, just finished a 3k precision hunting build but waiting on stock and I'm 22.
>I like to brag
Pick a not fun major that has lots of demand and you'll have a high paying job, out of a dozen of my friends only 2 are doing as well as me, one is in the same field, the other a mechanic.
>>35163695
>How does /k/ control their gun habit as far as buying guns and accessories goes?
By being a poor government wage slave that's more concerned with:
>shelter
>food
>utilities
Hmmm.... I hadn't considered plasma and blood donations though...
Still kicking myself for not jumping on a Remington 7400 I found on the consignment rack at the LGS up the road for 300ish. Even if it was 30-06.
However I m looking into a BAD vert setup (with the new wood bits) for my next AR project once I get the long stoke piston idea I've had rattling around in my head for a couple years into a feasible prototype stage anyway.
.....actually on second thought I'll just do an ironwood stock and foreend set...I did the math in my head just now and it's a thousand fucking dollars for just the furniture from battle arms....
I like the concept, but....no. that's a bit too pricey.
