I have an h110 50$ MSI mobo with a strix 960 of to1450mhz with a evga bronze 500 watt PSU. And I've never had a single problem with my mobo in the months I've been doing heavy gaming on it. In fact I've run doom on the highest settings and beat the game in one sitting. Wanna know how my mobo didn't melt

Complete noob question:

I want to start learning a programming language. I am between Python and Javascript. I know Javascript can be used to generate windows and buttons.

What other types of projects can each of these languages accomplish?

>Go for JavaScript, python is so unintuitave and plus if you are a beginner try html5.
Python can be used for many things such as programming rasberypis to do basically anything. Pyhton is also used a lot for math and science as well
>>
JavaScript is mainly used in websites, I wouldn't learn it without looking at full web frameworks like MVC or ruby.

Python's good simple language. Not great syntax but can do most things.

I'd start on c# then move to c++ then on to what ever you want so you have a good grounding

hey everybody

I'd just like to thank you for hyping up the 480. Was able to pick up yet another 970 on craigslist, new in box, for half off. While I would have loved to buy the slightly more expensive 480 with 980-tier specs, this works well for me too.

Sincerely,
non-brandfag

Someone explain to me why my hottest cores (#3 > 2 > 4 > 1 in that order) are the fastest performers compared to the cooler cores.

Also. I am fucking sick of my core variance. It throws me off hardcore since temp programs always report the hottest core, yet clearly my cooler should be able to keep my chip a lot colder as evidenced by the coldest core. I am thinking about lapping my heatsink and going bare die to see if this alleviates the situation. Any thoughts on this?

Don't be assholes. I'm counting on you /g/

Fuck off. I'm trying to figure out why there's such a huge discrepancy in performance from core to core. My 4.2ghz overclock is applied to the whole chip. I'm not getting this bullshit.

https://act.eff.org/action/no-privacy-rollback-for-the-fbi-s-biometric-mega-database

>Since 2008, the FBI has been assembling a massive database of biometric information on tens of millions of people, collected not just during arrests, but also for non-criminal reasons like immigration, background checks, and state licensing requirements.

>And for years, the FBI has dragged its feet in complying with federal privacy laws, resulting in a scathing indictment by the Government Accountability Office for hiding important information about the scope of its face recognition program from the public. The FBI has further failed to address fundamental flaws with the facial recognition system’s accuracy, which may disproportionately impact communities of color, who are over-represented in the NGI database in the first place.

>The FBI is now rushing to exempt its NGI data from parts of the Privacy Act. Its proposal would deny you the right to know what information it has on you and eliminate the FBI’s obligation to correct inaccurate data.

>EFF joins scores of civil liberties organizations in filing comments opposing this waiver. We’re also challenging the dubious “Systems of Records Notice” (SORN) the FBI issued much too late, with far too little information about how it affects everyday people. Hardly surprising. They're getting information directly from the states in several states where photos are supplied directly from the DMV to the FBI.

I'm already fucked for being in the DHS Trusted Traveler Database, but so is anyone with a visa or passport. It's pretty fucked.

What's a good mp3 player to get?

I got a refurbished Clip Plus 3 years ago for $20 and its finally died. I have a 64 GB sd card that needs supporting, otherwise i just need something that works.

most the advertisements mp3 players say they only support sdhc cards (32 GB), not sdxc (64 GB +)

Fingerprinting thread, postal edition.
Previous thread: >>55307092

ReCAPTCHA probably contains fingerprinting code:
https://archive.is/9K5gs
This means that the majority of 4chan users could be being fingerprinted, and Google might know about your shitposting habits.
To fix this you can get a pass (which allows you to be tracked by 4chan in a different way), or run 4chan with the no JavaScript CAPTCHA (use 4chan X to make 4chan without JS bearable).

Daily reminder to do all your Facebook / Youtube / LinkedIn / botnet shit in a completely separate browser to your Googling or buying shit.
It's currently the ONLY way to truly defend against fingerprint tracking.
Double points if you have each browser running in a different VM with a different OS.
Triple points if you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN.
The Tor Browser Bundle is still susceptible to many fingerprinting attacks that can uncover your true OS and browser.
Spoofing your user-agent is counterproductive unless you use a different user-agent for every site, even if you rotate them every x HTTP requests.

Is fingerprint spoofing the future?
Or is it too difficult since there are so many tests, some difficult to spoof, and new tests being created constantly?
Is it really necessary that we spoof our whole fingerprint, wouldn't partial work, at least until the trackers caught on?
Do the Tor browser guys have the right idea with trying to give everybody the same fingerprint?

Wow, that's probably the first picture I ever saw when I first came to 4chan.
>>
>>55308259
That's a terrible idea. It has to actually detect tracking to learn and block stuff, and it will only do so if you send a DNT header. There are forms of tracking that are undetectable on the client side, but that we have rational reason to be wary of. An additional list based blocker/trafficshaper that resists being detected by website software is a good idea.

NoScript has a unique ability to sanitize inline scripts. It is useful to run it in permissive mode along with uMatrix in blockbydefault mode for that function.
https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix/issues/276#issuecomment-206000184
>That is pretty damning of NoScript's author
It's also good demonstration of how your browser handles such a case.

Can anyone recommend reasonably priced monitoring system?

System that:
1. Can have two or more cameras
2. Records footage for more than a week
3. It's accessible from internet

No, I'm using a pentium 4 with my 1080

Let's sum it up:

*Costs more than a non-reference GTX 970 (Europe here) despite having significantly worse performance (except in selected DX12 titles)
*Despite 14nm still same efficiency as old 28nm 970s
*Violates PCIe specification due to too high power draw from the slot
*Literally no overclock headroom
*Extremely cheap cooler who makes the card run hot AND is somewhat loud

Nvidias 970 is a fucking two years old gimped cripple card and it is still a clearly better choice than the 480.

WHAT
THE
FUCK
AMD.

inb4
>hurr durr 480 is much more future proof due to 8GB and async compute
The 480 can't even handle game settings which push VRAM over 4GB. It's just like these snakeoil shitcards like the GT 730 with 4GB. Do you think that card is also more futureproof?

I really hope the custom designs will fix these issues, otherwise the graphics card market is still fucked.

The 480 was a bust and now I have $600 sitting around ready to buy to a new GPU, what do I get. I'm putting it into my custom loop so i need to buy a new block, should I get the 980ti, 1070, or 1080? If I get the 1070 or 1080 I'll wait of course (possibly till cyber Monday)

Coil whine isn't an actual issue with the hardware though. Unless it's extremely loud I don't know why you would be bothered by it when you're probably going to have music playing or headphones in and won't even hear it.

Could probably get a replacement by acting like an ass and saying it's broken because of the whining noise being because of bad caps or something if you really want to.
