I am a newbie in Android Development, but got a pretty big project ahead and need some help. I have to do an Xposed module, that will basically log system calls. I have very little experience in making apps, and never worked on anything system-level.
What websites/books/Youtube channels or other resources can I use to study more about how the Android system works and how to use the Xposed framework?
Appreciate your help, anons.

why should i use linux over windows?
Only distros I have tried are Ubuntu and Mint. They worked fine for most things, but I saw no advantage

OS itself is a foundation. Advance of foundation results sometimes in catastrophic system failure. If your work flawlessly done on the current OS, then that OS is the best OS for you.

I'm a novice programmer and I don't really wanna spend another dinner at mcdicks. Do you think I could to a tech company and ask for an unpaid internship where they just give me stuff to study and I start contributing when I'm ready? If not I'll just study after work for a couple hours.
If you're not currently in school and your skills are minimal then more than likely not.
>>55331923
What does McDonald's have to do with this? And the answer is probably no. You need something to back up that internship other then you calling yourself a novice programmer.

All the cited "negative" benchmarks have one thing in common: they use DirectX 11 or OpenGL 4.
Did Nvidia pay reviewers to omit DirectX 12 and Vulkan benchmarks because they knew Polaris would finally unquestionably destroy their crippled and gimped GPUs?
>>55331913
>DirectX 12 and Vulkan
No games support it yet.

480 will be severely outdated by the time dx12/vulkan is relevant. It's not even a flagship card. AMD fucked up bad.

>What is Hitman and Ashes of The Singularity?
Doubt many games will support it until Nvidia tells them it's okay. Which tbqh kinda kills the point of dx12.
I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as GNU/Linux is in fact GNU. Linux is not part of the operating system itself, but is the kernel that is not covered by the naming system of an operating system as defined by common sense.
Many users run operating systems such as Windows, OSX, and a variant of BSD yet do not use a cumbersome naming system that includes the kernel, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, GNU has been the exception to this for no reason and has just been called "Linux" for no good reason, and many others use the insane, cumbersome term "GNU/Linux", mostly because the GNU project doesn't want you to think that Linux is a part of GNU.
There really is a Linux, and it's not part of GNU, but it's a kernel, and no one really specifies using it. GNU is the OS; the actual base system you interact with, and is useful with any compatible kernel; it can function with many different kernels such as GNU Mach or even kFreeBSD, so the whole system should only specify the kernel when it matters, because all these kernels are really irrelevant regarding GNU.

I never liked this part. That's like saying your heart is useless by itself but in actuality it can be used for study or a heart transplant.
Does anyone know the best way to use FFMPEG to check if a video stream (HLS, etc.) is out of sync with audio?

I want to do it programmatically. There has to be a way.
/g/, I've decided to become a digital Nomad
I plan on moving around in South East asia, working on software and some online work. I have an international smartphone with a 10,000mah battery built in, and am looking at what other tech i need to live this way. everything must fit on a light motorcycle. I'm thinking a backpack for absolute essentials and one rucksack for clothes.
So let's talk laptops, i'm thinking a 17.3" 1080p with G-sync (for muh gaymen). I'm not going to be always moving, but will be relocating every 3 months or so so it's more a portable desktop replacement than a really portable laptop
Any advice? also, what other tech should i take with me?
>running around with a gaymen laptop in your backpack in Southeast Asia
You won't be a digital nomad for long. Or at least you won't remain digital
>>55331477
>what other tech should i take with me?
knife, gun, pic related printed on photo paper, mandarin-english dictionary, fishing hooks and line, led flashlight, lighter, picture of chairman mao on photo paper, 9v battery, copy of free as in freedom by richard m. stallman, thinkpad x200
I plan on doing this as well, moving every three months is a good thing to do especially if you plan on doing visa's, as the easy to get ones expire every three months. I'm going to Vietnam next summer with some to see how I like it, then I'll be going there to stay.
