I think when it came out it was competitively fast, but they have not put much effort into optimizing it over the years. They've also really let it bloat up with their app and extension infrastructure.

For those of you who've learnt to touch type recently, what lessons did you follow? There are plenty of websites but I'd like to know what worked for some of you..

I type at a somewhat moderate speed, albeit incorrectly, and readjusting now feels very unnatural, especially that I'm much slower and fuck up a lot more.

>encoding 1080p video, browsing youtube, watching a 4k video, opening and closing various programs, and shitposting at the same time
>everything still feels as responsive as if I wasn't doing anything at all

compare to

>quad core system with no hyperthreading
>trying to use an open browser and a couple of programs at once
>noticeable sluggishness

Fuck that shit. Anybody who tells you 4 cores are enough in 2016 is a cuck fool. I could probably play a game at the same time as all this other shit and it wouldn't be effected either. Moar cores may not affect performance in individual programs by themselves, but if you want to have a computer that never seems to slow down or strain you need at least 8 cores.

Performance summary:
1- Tom's put this card as below the GTX 970 and R9 390, but not by much.
2- TechPowerUp, Anandtech, PC Perspective, Hexus, HardwareCanucks, and KitGuru put the card at slightly above the GTX 970 and R9 390.
3- LegitReviews, GamerNexus and HardOCP puts the card on par with the GTX 970 and R9 390.

Details:
1- All reviews mention that the cards does considerably better on DX12, where it can beat the GTX 980
2- The reviews praise the card's overall power consumption, but note that it exceeds the standard limits (86W from PCIe, instead of 75W)
3- Most lament the temps of the reference cooler.
4- Most of the reviews note that the reference cooler does well on the noise. As good as nVidia? No, but this is something to note, considering the horrible reference jet engines of AMD's 290/290X cards.
5- Overclocking results are mixed, some reviewers getting up to 10% OC, and some barely 2%.

Overall:
A good launch for AMD. The card is slightly above the GTX 970/R9 390, and cheaper. Once non-reference versions are out, with better temps, this should be a great purchase.

Say I wanted to host my own website on my own server, but did not have a spare computer to make into a server, and did not want to use Gotitty.com for hosting.

Would I be able to run a virtual machine in linux/ubuntu from the computer I normally use, and assuming I set up everything correctly, connect to my website via the internet in any web browser out side of my virtual machine?

I.E, could I host it on a virtual machine on my computer, leave the house, go over to my friends house, and access the website hosted on my virtual machine via some sort of domain name on his web browser.

Anyone have experience with this? I googled it but my initial thought would be that it isn't possible, given that a Virtual Machine is well, virtual. But it seems that it might be possible based on one page that I read.

How stupid are you? No, seriously, OP. I cannot believe you googled shit.

Running a VM from your own computer, is perfectly doable if you have the RAM and CPU for it. Yes, you can access your virtual server from outside of the VM, google harder. Open up a port on your router, target the VM ip address and figure out the rest.
