Should i jailbreak?
You should install gentoo you fucking degenerate
>>55435936
if by 'jailbreak' you mean 'kill yourself', then 'yes'
>>55435936
This fucking case, what the fuck. It's 2016 anon. The most expensive iphone can be bought with little savings as long as you are not pajeet. iPhones have the fucking gigantic advantage over android phones - that they are fucking beautiful.
Meanwhile you are "saving" this amazing piece of design by using an ugly fucking ass case that looks like apeshit. Dude, it has a fucking semi-gorilla glass. You can prepare lunch using this iphone as a fucking cutting board.
Take. it. off.
Should I upgrade to Windows 10? I had it before but it bluescreened the shit out of me, so I pirated Windows 7 and haven't had any issues. Problem is I can't run Windows Update™ without it realizing and giving me the little "register now" splash over fucking everything.
Specs: http://hastebin.com/niqocojabi.hs
I really like the layout and feel of Win10, and that free license wouldn't be bad, but I can't live with 20 bluescreens a day. It's just not possible to live with.
>>55435873
>Should I upgrade to Windows 10?
It is a downgrade, not an upgrade.
But seriously, install some user-friendly GNU+linux, like the noobuntu
https://www.gnu.org/proprietary/malware-microsoft.html
Do you have play video games consistently? Do you have a DX12 GPU?
If you answered no to either of those then do NOT upgrade.
>>55435873
>>55436958
this. I only "upgraded" to Windows 10 because I bought a new skylake system that REFUSED to install Windows 7 because no native USB 3.0 drivers supported during install. Even my USB 2.0 ports are handled by the USB driver it seems for my board.
Attempting to slipstream the driver mid-install proved fruitless. Got fed up after fucking around for 2 hours, went out and bought an OEM copy of Win10 Professional. (Inb4 buying windows. I just wanted it to werk and not risk getting an .ISO filled with viruses/keyloggers)
I have my Linux install to do ANYTHING that isn't windows reliant. Banking, email, movies, general browsing? Linux. Games, movie editing software, Blu-ray ripping? Windows 10.
So, 3 options, although in /g/ i usually hear about the first 2:
- Lastpass
- Keepass
- 1Password
Has anyone used 1Password and any of the other two? Just need some good old comparisons not coming from the developers.
>>55435802
I've used the first two and by far prefer keepass. Doesn't really help you directly (asking about 1Pass) but at least it bumps the thread
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I use KeePassX. Nice mobile support.
I use 1Pass, the best on OS X/iOS but retardedly fucking expensive with matching semitic upgrade policy (major yearly updates are paid). They run periodic sales, at which the pricing is just high.
On the plus side they seem to actually understand crypto and haven't had reported security issues like the other two. They also support local syncing for the tinfoil hat inclined.
>But first, surrender full control of your phone to us
Why do people use these apps?
Because people are idiots.
>>55435673
You already hit yes, so answer it yourself.
Because those permissions can always be modified in external settings anyway, and the app will usually maintain its core functionality regardless.
how come no one talks about this? windows 10 is riddled with redundant remnants of previous operating systems
>>55435605
the startup manager in task manager is fucking garbage
i use msconfig to boot in safe mode.
who honestly gives a fuck though
>>55435605
>using windows
/g/ told me this mouse was good
>Click buttons make a terrible spring noise just by touching them
>Scroll wheel sounds like a machine gun
>Smooth wheel mode is uncontrollable
>DPI feels like a mess
I bought it last week. Coming from a Razer Naga meme, this feels like a real mouse finally.
DPI control is really comfy also.
>>55435520
/g/ only care about the flawless sensors for gaming.
>>55435520
I have one and i like it. The only thing is of you leave it in the sun for a while the scroll sensor shits itself and starts scrolling down. Also the smooth scroll is meant to be fast.
How did they get the IP 1.3.3.7?
http://1.3.3.7
they paid for it
Bunch of skids
they bought it
>Install deb7 on old laptop
>no way of connecting it to internet
>want to use it as a DVD player
>try to install MPC or VLC through USB
>Both have a assload of dependencies
>Both don't offer a way to download all the dependency's at once for side loading via USB
Can anyone prove that last statement false?
1. Download the applications onto another computer running debian
2. Copy the /bin/ do the USB stick
3. Copy the programs onto old computer's /bin/
How do Macbooks (or Apple products in general) measure up in terms of their specs? Compared to other laptops/PCs
Unimpressively.
>>55435354
I suppose a better question would be what is better:
A ~1300 Macbook or a ~1300 Laptop
>>55435368
Laptop generally, by far.
Apple barely has any options for dedicated GPU. It's Intel Iris for most of their models.
How does /g/ protect there data
>>55435246
i put your penis in front of it and no one comes near it
Mostly by not leaving shit lying around. The aforementioned shit includes "information about my data protection methods." Loose lips sink ships.
By having nothing to hide.
PCIE passthrough edition
Hi, I'd like to present this is a new thread idea, I'm generally too lazy to create threads(or maybe not enough autism?)
-What virtualization platform are you running?
-What are you using it for?
Looking into using KVM on proxmox for a file server for my local museum and archive. Never done this before, thoughts?
OP here, I have two systems
-Desktop
AMD fx8320, AMD r9 290, 16gb ram, 2x 128gb, 1x 256gb ssd's, 1x 1tb HDD.
-Server
AMD phenom 904(6 core), NVIDIA gtx 570, 8gb ram, x2 500gb, x2 300gb HDD's
I want a couple of cloud gaming vm servers. Additionally fileserver VMS
I'm unsure what to run on these systems, I've had them running proxmox but I found the UI lacking, tried EXSI but the UI is shit also (only windows support for vsphere)
I'm now looking at unRAID and windows server 2016 (now allows for pci-e pass through AFAIK), thoughts on these?
I've had GPU passthrough running plenty of times locally (via arch, debien etc) but I want a platform managed by web interface, migration support etc
>>55435192
Proxmox is great and surprisingly stable. It has limited filesystem support, everything is focused around zfs.
Of course the filesystem support is there kernel side but their storage pools only support zfs, this could be my biggest consideration if theirs already data on disk, as they will have to be formatted as zfs.
Besides that, using devices via paravirtualised schi bus provided by virtio will give you near native disk and network speed on windows and Linux guests, its all managed via Proxmox web ui.

are you a cyber-warrior anon?
Does anyone else think that Hacking culture is a tad be overrated by the media these days...
Watching it right now. Not bad so far. They're actually taking to ex anonymous members.
Guess the card

I installed a script in the terminal. I want to remove it. I don't know the path. I typed "git clone (url)" and this shit doesn't really do anything so I want to remove it.
>>55435039
Is this bait? If not, just find the folder and delete it.
>>55435050
oh shit I found it! Sorry for the faggotry

Post up your collection of mods, addons, extensions, whatever, that makes this collection of YouTube morons more enjoyable to watch.
Mine are (i'm using firefox)...
1. YouTube+ Userscript
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/9932-youtube
Holy shit I love this Userscript. It totally de-fuckifies YT, by adding pop-out window when scrolling comments, gridding search results and sub channels, disabling autoplay up next, plus a bunch more configurable options.
2. YouTube Cinema Mode
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/10417-youtube-cinema-mode
Another Userscript you can't live without. It autohides YT's searchbar, and automatically fits the player to maximum screen real estate.
If you use this with the YouTube+ userscript, make sure you have "Fit to page in theater mode ?" option in YouTube+ unticked, otherwise they'll conflict.
That's it, those are the two mods I use, and they make YT a pure pleasure to browse.
>>55435002
>mods that youtube make it better
>>55435264
ya, i was too lazy to come up with a decent image. oh well, next time.
I installed NewPipe because I wanted to play a Youtube video with the phone screen off, but it doesn't work. Do I have to do something else?
