Hey /g/,
My Laptop only works with the charger plugged in. My possible causes:
1. This issue might happened due to the overheating of the system, the laptop shut down a few times because of it. I have an AMD processor which, I've read, had some issues with it.
2. I left many times the laptop charging over night without shutting it down.
Does it make sense?
How can I fix the problem? Is there a solution without replacing the battery?
Thanks a lot in advance.
PS. The laptop's battery is not removable.
The battery can always be removable.
Battery is broken, idiort.
No matter what you think you can replace the battery. Rip it out if you have to.
>>55439749
Happened with mine. Check with Battery Tool of your OEM. If Battery condition is bad replace.
Being a freetard is suffering. I want to go back to the botnet.

you'll just end up like Bane did from the Matrix
You're "free" to go. But it's a one way ticket.
Do people still work at coffee houses and from home and shit? If you do, where do you prefer to hang all day? Office life can be so fucking boring, but I never understood how anyone could stay more than 10 mins at one same place without getting bugged too much and finally kicked out by the cafeteria owners. Guess I live in the wrong town, here they start cleaning your table before you even get the dessert.
Working from home sounds nice but you would probably have to be pretty experienced to start with and also be able to create a nice atmosphere in your workspace and home

>Do people still work at coffee houses
You mean for extended time, on purpose and not just for 15 minutes while having a quick coffee between meetings on a business trip?
Probably not. Unless you count hipster shit as work, if the cliche is true.
>and from home and shit?
That seems somewhat common, judging from my current and previous jobs. But only as a "sometimes" thing, like some folks have a contract that says 4 days office + 1 day home office, or some spontaneous things like "my wife is sick, I'll stay home, but I'll be working from there, and I'm of course on call anyways".
I quite like the latter option.
> If you do, where do you prefer to hang all day?
I dont really like coffee shops, for the reasons you mentioned, and because it's quite loud, and not a really good work atmosphere. I sometimes work at home, or in the train, when I am travelling to visit my parents, and dont want to waste some holiday days for travel.
Otherwise, I occasionally like to work in the park for a while, or on the walls of the castle overlooking the town.
ceci n'est pas un bump

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

I managed to get one thing working on my phone using SSH tunnel so I can watch my plex library without my ISP fucking me in the ass.
Is there a way to route all traffic through SSH instead of just one port?

Hi /g/ I'm about to purchase a GPU. I'm torn between a 780ti and a 970.
Which should I get and why? The 970 is roughly £30 more expensive.

480
I have the option of buying a scondhand 280x for 155$,and use it in SLI.
Or i could buy a 1070/1080 when the price drops.
Is the extra money for the new cards worth it,or should i just go SLI?
i have a 1440P monitor.
Never go for sli if you can help it.
The new cards are absolute beasts and if you can find them for a good price definitely go for it.
>>55439231
>The new cards are absolute beasts
The same performance as a 980 Ti and a staggering 20% more than a 980 Ti. For 20% more money. That's what you get from a new generation and a node shrink.
ABSOLUTE BEAST
>>55439264
The 1070 is not MUCH better than a 980ti, but it still is.
Not to mention that the 1070 will begin receiving performance upgrades in the form of drivers, whereas the 980ti has reached peak performance and will either stay there or get worse with new drivers.
If OP is interested in vr the 1070 will again absolutely destroy the 980ti.
/hst/? /hst/.
My 6x 1TB NAS drives in pic related (mix of WD blues and greens) are approaching 5 years old, no signs of trouble but I'm getting antsy about having drives that old, especially with no fault tolerance (running JBOD, muh anus). I have not needed to look at spinning rust for a long time so I'm behind the curve a little. I'd like to replace each with at least 2TB so I can set up some decent sized RAIDs and worry less about data integrity and drives nosediving.
I know HGST make some solid 2.5" drives and I also read good things about WD red's, am I on the right track looking to these guys for drives? Do you have a better recommendation? Price is not a factor, I just want another solid 5 years of performance.

What do anons use them for? I'm curious.
What's your music player, /g/? Is there anything superior to foobar yet?
No.
How someone hasn't made their own foobar clone for Linux yet is pretty astounding though.

Foobar works pretty well using wine, so there's no point in cloning it I guess.

are you a fucking retard?
>shift some of the power load off of the PCIe Graphics (PEG) slot connector, presumably in order to bring power consumption within PCIe spec. Note that AMD doesn't say anything about reducing the total power consumption, and given option #2, it's reasonable to assume that this involves holding the power requirements as-is and shifting the load to the external 6-pin power connector. Based on earlier data this would potentially put the 6-in connector further over spec, but the vast majority of PSUs are very tolerant of this going out of spec.
How is this gimping exactly?

Javascript question... So here's an Object:
{code]var post = {
board: "/g/",
user: "anon",
solved: false
}[/code]
I am writing a routine to print its structure like this:post.board
post.user
post.solved
Here it is, defined then called:function showStructure(obj){
var a;
for (a in obj){
console.log(obj +'.'+ a);
}
}
showStructure(post);
And the output:[object Object].board
[object Object].user
[object Object].solved
How can I get the variable name of the object rather than a handle?

We might have gotten our way in the fight for net neutrality and SOPA, but that doesn't mean they won't do it again. These people will just get more and more power and one day, they will win. We could turn into China and the internet turns into real life 2.0. Freedom is easy to lose and hard to get back. We can protest all they want but they won't give a fuck, there's enough injustice already so we can easily get more of it. Things have to get much worse before they can get better.
Explain to me why 144p exists on YouTube. Who the fuck would watch a video in that resolution in the year twenty-sixteen?
Not everyone has a 10k display, autismofag.
Maybe it's old content and magic doesn't work how you think it does?
>>55436824
Why encode higher resolution videos in 144p then? The only feasible use to use it is for just listening to the audio but then you may as well just have an audio stream only, which can use less bandwidth.
