What's your favorite linux distro?

Same here. Everything else is sub-standard, most of all slackware followed closely by gentoo.
Kubuntu is fine IMHO.
>>55442884
So far? Debian stable. Does not rash like my old Ubuntu install.
I'd like to make a website with both forum and imageboard layouts which are separate, but you can switch between them with the click of a button.
How do I make this happen?
>>55442880
>Learn Java/php/HTML
>git gud

/g/ should especially be interested in this.
>>55442880
Learn PHP, HTML, and basic JS. An imageboard is really simple when you actually start making it.
https://act.eff.org/action/tell-congress-quit-trying-to-sabotage-net-neutrality
>Net neutrality is under threat in Congress. Whether it’s slashing the FCC’s budget, attempting to prohibit the agency from enforcing its Open Internet Order, or stalling essential protections with redundant and unnecessary “studies,” lawmakers are using every trick they can to undermine the FCC’s work to keep the Internet free and open.
>As Congress debates the 2016 appropriations bills, numerous attempts are underway to introduce amendments designed to keep the FCC from enforcing its open Internet rules.
>Let’s tell lawmakers to stop standing in the way of net neutrality.
>>55442811
Someone explain this whole net neutrality thing to me?
Last time I checked someone told me it was a bad thing, somehow.
Net neutrality is not the answer. A proper competitive market is. Let capitalism fix these problems.

This is a board for technology, not video games.
Is increasing my fan speed a good idea? My gpu is hovering around 84c under heavy load and I'd like to lower that a bit. I don't know what the consequences of an increased fan speed would be though. Except for the noise which I don't mind.
>>55442702
>>55442702
0 consequences, i keep mine on max anyway 24/7 because i plan on keeping the 5850 i have since 2011 for at least 3 more years
>>55442702
I think fan will run out its resources faster that way
>>55443012
This op if anything you should SLOW DOWN your fans to make them last longer
Ok g/ im learning to solder and last week i got a cheap soldering kit to get gud at it.
The first time i used it solder melted beautifully, i could solder a test board easily it went so smooth, but today im having trouble with soldering melting and sticking to the pins.
I cleaned the tip of the iron with a brush, but is there any other recommendation to make it work like the first time? i have flux but that doesnt seems to be doing the trick.
help please.
i cant even tin the tip of the iron, solder just refuses to stick...
>>55442638
Probably wrong temperature.
>>55443072
>>55443120
when you say cleaned the tip with a brush
do you mean like a steel wool brush
is it oxidized?
They did it again, the absolute madmen!

I actually wish that turns out to be true just because of the incoming shitstorm it would cause. C'mon, the RX480 housefire was a riot, while it lasted anyway.

Is there a command to read the epub format in terminal like the PDF's "less <filename>.pdf" command?
>I'm on Ubuntu
>>55442421
i'm sure there is a way to convert it to plaintext so you can read it in the terminal.
Don't know about just straight up using a tool to read it
>>55442449
I can use Calibre to convert it to a PDF but I was just wondering if there was a way to circumvent all that and just do it right away.
>>55442421
Do this
>https://2buntu.com/articles/1424/reading-epub-files-without-an-epub-reader/
Then open the HTML file in Lynx or your favorite terminal based web browser
>camera still protrudes
It's already trash
>LITERALLY release the exact same phone twice
>remove a port
>sell it for full price
Bravo Apple
>>55442372
lol, this should piss off all of those /g/ apple fanboys.
both of them.
>>55442372
>>55442391

I'm still gonna buy it
I can't fucking follow man pages, docs, guides.
I always end up watching tutorials on YouTube.
I feel dumb for this. Anyone else?

How small of a filesize can you get an image?
smaller than that

Are there any good looking linux DE's? Bonus points if it works with touch as well so i can use it comfortably while in bed
GNOME 3 is good for touch, except for the file picker
>>55442027
I think KDE looks ok. I am not sure about touch though. But opinion is subjective so don't bully me plz
Unity and GNOME (maybe Cinnamon) are the only ones that actually have touch support. Others n ay have it, but it is not officially supported.
Even though this is technically a game I feel it belongs here more than on /v/
TIS-100 is a program in which you solve puzzles using a very limited assembly language, I was able to get up to the signal multiplexer and am completely stuck, maybe some of you will have better luck
I've heard of it. Extremely difficult, right?
>>55442044
It started off pretty simple, but then HOLY SHIT, here's a screen from the multiplexer I'm stuck on
also there's no fullscreen mode
>>55442044
No. It's pretty easy to get the hang off. The architecture has very few instructions, so they're easy to memorize.
Are there any good AMD CPU's?
>>55441799
A10 is pretty ebin.
Even better stuff is coming this year with new generation of consoles coming.
>>55441799
A8 APUs are pretty alright for $300 and under gaming rigs
and my FX 8 core just werks
>>55441838
As long as you don't get a dedicated graphics card and use fast ram, it's fine for regular use, wouldn't recommend for gaming though.
I've been using Nero 7 since always. A while back I tried to upgrade to a newer version but did not like it.
Should I get something better? What do you use as burning software?
Is it really worth having a special program instead of using the windows tool?
