I don't get this.
Linux (tries to) competes with Windows.
BSD (tries to) compete with Linux.
Why does /g/ have to make its own Unix Like OS?
Post useful regex's to filter out /g/ - Consumerism/GPU/i

I suck at regular expressions but maybe together we can filter out the shills.

What famous pieces of software are developed mainly by female programmers?
Bonsi Buddy
the ARM architecture and opcodes were designed by a man who is now a tranny
does that count?
First programming language.
Does technology cause more terrorism?
Is encryption to blame for the rise of ISIS? We didn't have many terror attacks in France before Apple started to encrypt their iPhones.
>>55637490
nah, blame your gov for sending troops to the middle east.

so if you are going to ban encryption, i assume you would be pro banning assault trucks too.
banning guns and explosives didn't seem to have worked either. so what's the point.
if you see the common denominator in modern terrorism, you undoubtedly know what to banit's muslims.
Why do people care about privacy? Not a bait thread, please explain it to me why a "normal" person should give s fuck.
How would you like it if cops came by your house every day to ransack your house and make sure you're not hiding illegal things under your floorboards?
>>55637350
yep nep
>>55637336
Normal people don't expose themselves to potentially embarrassing situations. There are some things not everyone needs to know.
hello /g/, im thinking of converting this old cockpit voice recorder into a gaming PC. Is it possible to get some good components in and still keep it looking like it did when i bought it? pic related is the one that i found on ebay
>>55637272
Give it back Muhammad.
>>55637272
Disassemble it check the measurements for the u-atx or m-atx boards and see if you can fit it and then check the space you would have left to place components.
It could take 2 weeks if have no ideia what you're going but otherwise should be a pretty easy conversition got any measurements done yet?

Their service is really convenient, but I hate the userbase.

........THANKS!
Why you need 1600w? Why no 10x series rather than 9x ti? Motherboard = meh and only a Tb? Even if it's SSD you should have at least a hard drive also.
I mean out of all computers your build is at least a 8/10, probably 9/10. But from the stuff you see here and on the /g/ scale I couldn't go higher than 4-5/10. Picked the best processor though
Why does anyone use Spotify in 2016? Play music has superior library, a much less buggy app, lets you upload music to the cloud and you don't have to fuck around with the deprecated libspotify to use it on your Raspberry Pi.
>>55636742
I keep hearing about that Spotify thing but I don't know what it is and I don't care to know. I bet it's something inane as fuck like a messaging service or whatever. You probably should stop using it because it might be a botnet.
>>55636742
That original version of the Pi has a bent pin
I don't like maintaining a music collection.

I like the phone app.
I don't care that they harvest my taste/listening habits.
I have just observed something.
AMD advertises how their sockets have a wide compatibility with their CPUs.
This being said, can the FX9590 with its high TDP work on lower end 760G AM3+ motherboards?
I ask this because as far as AMD is concerned, it's an AM3+ socket and The FX9590 is an AM3+ CPU.
>>55636572
Interestingly enough, I had a discussion with a friend about this the other day. It would appear that either one or two things would occur.
1)The CPU would be throttled.
2)The VRMs would be toasted due to the high TDP of the 9590.
You're probably better off buying a 8350 and overclocking it instead of buying a 9590. They're quite similar processors.
>>55636572
I too would like to know the answer to this. The FX9590 has a 220W TDP, how is a regular motherboard going to deliver the power? Especially something as old as the 760g chipset.
Why didn't SoftBank buy AMD instead of ARM?
They could have bought AMD 7 times over
more innovative intellectual property maybe?
I don't know I'm just guessing
'cause nvidia is gonna to buy AMD soon (tm).
The whole thing is very fishy.
>the deal happens in the span of about 2 weeks
>decision entirely made by the top brass without any sort of consulting or planning
>pretty much none of the employees knew what was going on and the news were leaked at 3am British time today so they had to learn from the news and the crowds of journalists at the Cambridge offices
>share price is ridiculously high, something like 50% above the market share
>ARM is nice and all, but certainly not the company that will lead the way in the IoT market
>SoftBank could have number of semiconductor companies instead
Some sort of madness, really.
This thing here.
Surely getting that much power into a nano sized card can't be that bad? Am I expecting too much? Wouldn't this at the very least have reduced sag?
Honestly, that thing is likely to be noisy as fuck or hot as hell
You can only pick 3
Good cooling
Small
Quiet
High performance
It would be extremely noisy.
