why is it so hard to make android user friendly and more linux like in terms of TRULY deciding what and what doesnt run
>>55619170
>He thinks android is GNU/Linux
I'd just like to interject for a moment...
But seriously, the only way Android is Similar to 'Linux' on the desktop is the kernel. I wish we did have GNU/Linux on mobile but it seems all attempts so far have gained very little traction (Sailfish, Ubuntu Touch, Plasma mobile, etc)

I'm buying a pc, and i have a budget of roughly 250$ for a monitor (preferably 1920-1080) and a keyboard, and maybe a mouse (r.a.t 7seen in picture) I'm buying from a friend. Any recommendations?
That's not a mouse, that's a fucking transformer.
>>55619153
>>55619088
I bought a cheap ass generic LG monitor a few years ago for about 150 dolla. Entry level 1080p 60Hz monitors are dirt cheap and still manage to look okayish. Considering your price range, I don't think you'd be very disappointed with picture quality.
I never understood why some people with a 300$ GPU waste 800-1000$ on a fucking monitor.
As far as keyboard and mouse go, well, it's hard to go wrong there. Cooler Master have some pretty cheap and decent series of both keyboards and mice if you're into Christmas tree style lit gaymen stuff. Other than that, buy the cheapest shit and you're good to go.
So it's finally here... these are the final 13 days.

How will you save your PC from obsolescence before its too late?

Are there any vidya game cheaters /g/ ? I mean real ones who make their cheats on their own . How do you write an internal cheat in cpp ? Ive looked into several sites, checked googlr, but no one really explained how the concept works. For example, how do you get the netvars? What is a netvar? How do you hook a games function?
>>55618845
If your a script kiddie, you will go on hack forums and use other peoples source codes, then compile it using hooks you have either coded or procured from another coding faggot.
Otherwise, you'd make a private hack, using source code you've created but based previously on someone elses code. Then give that out as a hook (aimware) for example, is a private hook. they are elite script kiddies, usually hard to detect.
once a hook is created, you would use an "Injector" to push the hook onto the game.
http://hackerbot.net/wiki/159-dll-inject-injection-hacks-cheats
The PSP was a great platform for learning how to do this type of thing. See if you can pick up one that can have custom firmware permanently installed, and then grab some ISOs for games. Use a cheat program such as NitePR or MKULTRA and start to learn about addresses, hooks, pointers, DMA codes, etc.

Does anybody know how to set up a program on android that will start playing irreplaceable every time waze tells me to turn left?

stallfags btfo. Welcome to the family.
Hey /g/, I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced this issue with Fedora 24 Workstation.
I just finished a clean install and everything went smoothly until I got to the login screen. The screen is just bars of colors (usually red and yellow, or white and black), and I can't see anything. I can still log in by hitting space and entering my password, and when I log in, gnome loads perfectly and there are no other graphical errors.
I can't find anything wrong, and this computer was able to run Ubuntu and Windows 10 with no issues.
I'm using dual monitors if that changes anything.
Thanks in advance.
Run sudo dnf upgrade -y
>>55618303
I tried that, it still persisted. I tried updating the kernel, and it did nothing. I'm just trying to understand why it's happening on fedora but not on Ubutu or Windows

I posted this question on biz, but since it's a slow board and I got bored waiting for the answer, I'm gonna ask here:
How can you make substantial money from an iOS/Android app? I have an idea for one, but I don't know shit about programming, so I need to know how much would it cost.
The app itself would be an offline dictionary of a specific language pair. This could be really useful and marketable because there aren't any normal electronic dictionaries for that language pair.
You can't
>>55617912
You buy into the App Store(s) and wait for their pay out. App Store is $99/y, Google Play is a one time fee of $25. Typically both pay 2-3 months in arrears.
You would be well versed in offering a limited, ad-supported version of the mobile app with limited functionality. Otherwise your audience is going to have to pay in to even test it out - increasing refund rates and the inevitability of piracy.
You're right -- >>>/biz/ is the proper board for this. I'm feeling jolly today so I won't report you for cross-posting. Consider asking what programming language you should use or some other shit to make it at least look like technology-related matters.

I don't remember why or when i installed mono but i've recently run -Syu and these certificates added thanks to mono. So, should delete these?
>inb4 arch meme
>install gentoo
>>55617862
Definitely delete those. They look malicious.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trust_anchor
>>55617862
No, those are just the global certs. You probably didn't have a need for those before mono.
>>55617897
so removing mono and these certificates won't affect anything maybe it will be just a waste of time.

Thanks /g/-chan. Can't wait my Redmi Note.
my wifes phone was having issues charging, turns out the port was worn and would only charge if you were pulling the cable down so it would pull the connector up. i put the phone on the night stand with a small weight on the cable and a water bottle on the phone to hold it down. well i woke up this morning and the phone is off again and no charge light comes on, and it turns out the bottle sweat a lot and there was water on the phone, im concerned it went into the speaker holes and jacked up the phone. should i even bother with the rice trick or something, or is she hooped? pic related, its a htc (uwot) m8

Last time something similar happened was back in like'09 with my iPod touch 3rd gen.
I dropped it in the years and it stormed at night(Florida).
I found it in the morning and it was blank.
So I opened my oven and put my iPod on the oven door while the heat was on 400°F.
I didn't put it inside the oven, just on the opened door. After 20 minutes it dried up and it was good
