The depreciation factor of the 980ti is far less than R9 Fury if I were to sell this. It's possible that Maxwell will be gimped as with Pascal, but Pascal is really a refinement. I think both Pascal and Maxwell will be hit with the gimp if that happens.
The only AMD card right now that may keep value is the 480, which is heralded as the new 7970 and bitcoin miners considering this card. The other cards consume too much power to make that economic argument to miners.

i suggest taking the unminified version and grabbing classes that you need instead of just using the whole thing

This is all wrong. Let's start from the top: why would you buy a processor that is multiple generations old? I suggest getting an 4690k, and a decent cheap CPU cooler to pair with it. Second, don't skimp on the motherboard. Go z97, the h97 are value oriented and won't last you. I suggest 16 gigs 'o ram, trust me when I say that 8 is no longer enough for any serious user. 250gb SSD.... For what purpose? Buy yourself a nice 2-4tb HDD instead. It will last you far longer and you won't notice a lack of r/w speed unless you seriously need it. Okay, now for the kicker. Do not buy a gtx 960. It's a generation-old card now, and history shows us that nvidia cards do not age well. I suggest either the rx480 or the gtx1060. The 1060 is better for now, but the 480 will outperform the 1060 in a year's time. Case is fine, whatever suits your taste. I have never used that PSU, but I have had great experiences with EVGA psu's in the past so I recommend them. Anyways, cheers! Enjoy your PC, whatever you end up putting in it :)
