WHY THE FUCK IS MY BROWSER SO FUCKING RETARDED
>using Iceweasel (Firefox fork, I assume this glitch happens in Firefox too)
>Internet is being shit, trying to load page and it won't load cause bad connection
>switch to other internet connection
>now it's working fine
>can load pages fine
>EXCEPT THE PAGES THAT GOT STUCK BEFORE SWITCHING THE NETWORK
>I know the sites are up because I can open a different Iceweasel profile and load them fine
>but they are stuck not fully loading when I try to open them in the same iceweasel profile I've had open since before switching to a better internet connection
>will continue until I close and re-open that Iceweasel profile
It's like there is cached data that has a partly loaded webpage instead of re-trying to retrieve the data from the server, at least that's my best guess
Why the fuck is it doing this? Is it something in the config or what? How can I fix it? And why are browser devs so fucking moronic to allow glitches like this?

What's the probability of me killing myself if I try to replace my power supply's fan?
It's kind of a catch 22, power supplies with decent fans are in the 100+ price range, whereas the cheaper ones work fine, but have terribly noisy fans. I'm willing to risk my life for 50 dollars.
As long as you unplug it it should be ok . As far as PS goes idk depends if you know what you're doing
>>56325478
Have you never heard of a capacitor?
unplug it and flick the switch off. maybe try and drain the capacitors by turning it on, but either way as long as you ground your screw driver, you should be fine
some fans just have a 2-pin connector, while others have to be soldered on, so be aware that it might not be that easy to replace the fan
Which one??
I would go with GIGABYTE™ for superior cooling and gaming performance.
>>56325380
not msi
msi for customer/driver support
gigabyte for quality but is run by the biggest google translating chinks you can imagine

How to conciliate anonymity and torrenting ? Which Torrent Client should I use ?
>>56325370
1. google "what is a vpn"
2. google "how to setup torrent client with vpn"
3. google "how not to use torrents for warez"
now, that wasnt so hard.
Op there
Thx anon, you have a favorite torrent client ?
i dont really use torrents as there is many far supperior alternatives.
but you can check out qBittorrent. its like uTorrent, but without the NSA.
Is it possible to write software that is perfectly exploit-proof?
>>56325368
Formal methods for proving correctness of code exist - if the design can be proved secure, those can be used to prove the implementation secure.
Those doing this are typically going for an information assurance certification - such as EAL 7 augmented for something implemented that way bottom-to-top - and are doing it for government contracts.
It's done for a couple of things: the "data diode" firewall the NSA use to separate trusted from untrusted domains, for one. It's even possible to extend it to a complete hardware design, as in the Rockwell Collins AAMP7G - again, used in NSA equipment.
https://www.rockwellcollins.com/Data/Products/Information_Assurance/Cryptography/AAMP7G_Microprocessor.aspx
>>56325368
Not practically, because even if you can prove code works exactly to a specification with no other unintended behaviour, that specification can contain flaws introuced by the humans who made it that goes against the intentions of the writers and subverts security in some way.
The environment code is used in can also introduce exploits, e.g., you can write a web app that's proven to correctly behave for all inputs, then totally destroy security by deploying it unencrypted on the Internet, or running a previously secure script on an interpreter that's updated to introduce a vulnerability.
see sel4 microkernel, it's open source too

So, which one provides the best performance?
Vulkan or DX12?
>>56325258
dx12 on nvidia i think. vulkan runs a lot better than dx on amd. just wish companies would use vulkan more.
>>56325464
vulkan would work great on no man's sky
>>56325258
theoretically there's no reason one should perform much better than the other unlike dx vs ogl.
in any case, this is the kind of thing 3d engine devs can answer and you won't find those guys on /g/.

Why do people prefer Ubuntu over Win10?
Some of the arguments I find online are: It's free, you can play free games (ha), it's faster, more stable, etc...
I've tried it many times but I never get it. There are a lot of programs I can not run: videogames, foobar2000, CCleaner, a proper Skype etc..
And I always get some bugs: This time I can't adjust the mouse sensitivity (the option is not there) and I have a wierd vsync error (sometimes I see the mismatched horizontal lines).
I just don't get it. I'm not a troll, I know I'm a "noob" but I'm curious and I am willing to learn.
I'd use Linux but I need software that's only on Windows for work and games.
>>56324975
Please tell me why you would use Linux
>>56324953
People prefer Ubuntu over Win10 for various reasons, each unique to the individual. For most people, I would imagine it comes from a desire to learn about the GNU/Linux operating system, but still maintaining most of the ease-of-use of Windows.
>There are a lot of programs I can not run
That's because these are Windows applications. Likewise, Windows cannot run .deb applications.
Other reasons someone may use Ubuntu: concern about Windows 10 spying, customizing their desktop experience, a more powerful terminal.
