What's best for day-to-day note-taking when you can't bring a bag? A pocket notebook takes up too much space in a pocket, but quickly typing notes on a smartphone screen is a pain. Do PDAs still get made anywhere?

I saw Richard Stallman at a pet shop in New York yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she started to typing the receipt, he noticed that she's using proprietary software, stopped her and told her to install Gentoo "to prevent any nonfree software from infettering his life," and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she downloaded GNU+Linux and started installing the printer drivers, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Should I get this over an acutal Macbook Pro 2013 or even a Thinkpad? Same specs, customizable, HP construction, etc. I wonder if its hardware has linux drivers out of the box though... I have windows 10 installed on a 3 tb seagate drive. Its slow as fuck and booting up takes 5 min+. I want to move all my data and os to an ssd. I have almost 1/2 a terabyte of games installed. Is it possible?
