What is good cross-platform, open-source remote desktop software (replacement for teamviewer)
VNC, retard
VNC is ok.
How many platforms OP? If just windows/*nix use RDP/X-11 forwarding if you want a good experience.

i remember when steve jobs announced that ios wouldn't have flash because he considered it an outdated technology and /g/ had a collective melt-down. now /g/ agrees that flash is shit and should die.
same thing here with the jack. i can guarantee that in a couple of years /g/ will be mocking any phones with jacks and arguing about how superior a pure digital signal is.

Daily reminder that Razer funds and supports open source projects.
Daily reminder that Razer brings cheap open source consumer VR.
Daily reminder that Razer makes the best mice on the market.
And a reminder that only neckbearded autists hate razer.

Razer Core is still way overpriced.
Other than that I see no reason to dislike it. Never had a bad experience with their products.
>>56513572
What kind of open-source projects except that VR thing?
>>56513623
Some crossplatform projects.
>"In light of recent incidents and concerns raised by Samsung about its Galaxy Note 7 devices, the Federal Aviation Administration strongly advises passengers not to turn on or charge these devices on board aircraft and not to stow them in any checked baggage," the FAA said late Thursday in the U.S.

Can samshit ever recover?
No, samsung is now seen by the public as the company that makes exploding phones. It's over. RIP.
>Samsung phone sets entire Jeep on fire
And here people were downtalking this issue, saying it barely affected anyone.
Despite a global recall, there are more and more reports like these. How could Samsung fuck it up so badly?
And all this after reports about the screen scratching as easily as plastic and phones experiencing random reboots and bricks. Truly the worst "flagship" of 2016.
>>56513551
There have been cases of exploding batteries for basically all phones.
But it's never been this bad. How can you even fuck it up like this? They probably bought only the cheapest of the cheap batteries to use in their Note 7s. Who cares, nobody will notice, they're not replaceable, anyway.

>not buying a metal cigarette case and throwing away the carton when the case is filled
its like you want to look at gross shit whenever you go out for a smoke
I'm in desperate need of your help /g/. I bought a gtx 1070 today (pic related) and when I put it in my mobo and hooked up the two 6+2 pin power connectors my computer wouldn't start. When I had one 6+2 connector plugged in the led next to the power connectors was red and the computer would power on (fans spinning etc) but up on the monitor it said to power down, insert pcie power cables and restart. I have an i5 2500k @ 4.2 ghz, 16gb ram a 750w psu and the before the 1070 I was using an r9 290x. After putting a single power connector in the final time a small amount of smoke started coming out of the power connector where the power cable was plugged into the card. So my main question is, what did I do wrong, is my 1070 ruined and do i have a bad psu? Also my old 290x sparked and smoked once but I thought it was because I bought it used but now I'm thinking my psu might be fucked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You cheaped out on your PSU.

The only reason WINE exists is to con winfags into switching to Linux. It has never even been remotely capable of the things it's said to do.

I got TWC instead of U-verse almost entirely because TWC advertises no caps and U-verse has 1000GB/mo.
Also, lots of people complain about U-verse.

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

>how do I find out what proprietary firmware I need for my wifi on debian and how do I install it?
>total newb here
This is probably an extremely stupid question, but do I need to run emerge as a superuser every time? Is that normal?
>>56512943
It'll tell you when you're installing it, right off the bat.
Also, you should use the netinst that includes a bunch of non-free firmware. With any luck that means you won't even have to download anything extra.

gross, I'm gonna install Linux because I have 3 days off work and I'm tired of video games. Installed Arch in a VM the other day and remembered that I do like using free software.
Just hope they fixed my wireless since last time >_>
The developers named their firmware files incorrectly and it took some "debugging" to figure that out!
I'm following the wiki's guide to purchasing a thinkpad laptop. This is one of the first results that comes up on ebay uk. Does this look dodgy to any of yous?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHEAP-Lenovo-Thinkpad-X201-i-Laptop-Core-i3-M380-2-53GHz-4GB-Ram-160GB-Warranty-/322248076146?hash=item4b077b6b72:g:nH4AAOSwGtRXyCX0
Following the wiki guide, this is very low priced for its specs. I'd love to only part with 90-ish poundywounds for a thinkpad, but not if it's stolen/locked stuff.
>>56512823
it's a pretty shitty CPU tbqh. you should go for an i5 2. generation.
for the offer itself, i dunno, he sold much and the reviews are mostly good. but keep in mind that it could look pretty shit. the picture is from his best looking thinkpad. that's why i don't buy laptops with ORIGINAL images.
>>56512823
If you can't find cheaper, buy it and upgrade the CPU later if you come to like memepad.
>>56512823
>not if it's stolen/locked stuff
then just ask if the bios is password-locked and computrace is enabled
if both answers are no then you're okay
