PC-BSD, based off FreeBSD, has evolved into TrueOS.
Details (partial copy below): https://www.trueos.org/2016/09/01/pc-bsd-evolves-into-trueos/
TrueOS Features:
- Now a rolling release based on FreeBSD-CURRENT.
- Weekly package/ISO updates (or more often, as necessary).
- Only one package repository. Update when you’re ready and never get left behind again.
- Automatic updates can be enabled/disabled as desired.
- All updates are performed in a safe manner using Boot Environments. Updates never change your live system, as the updated system is not activated or used until you reboot
- Existing PC-BSD/FreeBSD users can use the non-destructive fresh installation into a new boot environment on non-encrypted ZFS pools. This mechanism preserves all user data while performing a fresh install of the operating system and all applications. Simply re-create any user accounts post-installation to access the data in their home directories
- TrueOS Desktop pre-installs a pure Qt5 system based around the Lumina desktop and SysAdm.
- TrueOS Server pre-installs the SysAdm service for remote system management, with remote access initially disabled.
- A full repository of applications is available for installation through AppCafe.
- TrueOS is currently in Beta status. All of the critical functionality is complete, but we are still migrating some utilities from PC-BSD to the new TrueOS framework.
Differences from FreeBSD 11.0:
- LibreSSL has replaced OpenSSL completely, even in the FreeBSD base.
- Linux DRM 4.7 compatibility adds support for the Haswell, Broadwell, and Skylake Intel graphics.
- The entire system, including the FreeBSD base, is managed by pkg.
"A Refuge for those fleeing systemd"
Nobody cares l0l
KILLER FEATURE:
"Speaking of ZFS, Lumina's file manager has some neat ZFS integration, featuring a time slider to allow viewing the contents of directories within snapshots. "
Convince me to install gentoo

Sorry if this isn't the right place, and I'm pretty sure it isn't(but iirc /wsr/ is slow as fuck)
I was attempting to replace my Wii U screen and accidentally rekt this wire, how fucked am I? It kinda looks like it's just for a speaker, but Idk anything about wires/mobos
You have no business replacing a screen if you can't solder a fucking wire.
>>56507614
Splice it and rejoin? did you break it off the board or did you cut in half?
>>56507630
It's a reeeeaaaally tiny wire, anon
>>56507632
I have no idea how to do that.
It tore at the connecter piece
>There are people on this board that use wired earbuds.

What programming languages should I focus on getting good at if I want to work from home?
>>56507489
Talking to other people should be the first language you learn.
>>56507563
Apparently you haven't learned English because if you read the OP you would know that's not a programming language dickwad

she's in a mental institution. I remember those chairs and that dazed look from meds.
Haven't needed this in a while.
Is Lighttpd still the easiest, least bloated to use?

Not anymore, OpenBSD's httpd has come up.

Terry A Davis is lawful good.
I don't recognize the top left, middle, or middle bottom.

Looks like he has two bic pens sticking out of his head
How did Apple manage to make wireless earbuds worse than everything else on the market this late?
The $20 bluetooth earbuds I got off Aliexpress look less silly than those.

Nu-male
>New Samsung phone battery catches fire
>New Apple phone has no headphone jack
Just sitting here waiting for the new Nexus/Google Phone. Please don't fuck up Google, I want a new good phone.
>>56507408
Apparently it will take the Pixel name.
>>56507408
N6p user here, they've already fucked up by ditching the front facing speakers. I think I'll pass on this upgrade, I might be considering getting an iPhone 7 plus, that matte black looks killer.
At this point I also waiting it the pixel XL to make a final decision
They could take out the jack if the my want, but at least put two ports
ITT a productive thread to convince our fellow /g/entoomen not to buy an iphone 7. There is only 2 and a half hours left to change their decision!

What about Courage™?
>>56507343
post more marie instead

iToddlers and shills were never /g/entoomen to begin with.
Will history repeat itself?
With Apple further committing to trapping their customers in proprietary hell I couldn't help but hear an echo from the past.
Another company was on top of the world of consumer tech but fell when they kept trying to jail their loyal consumers through proprietary tech overload.
I ask you /g/, is Apple on their way to fate that befell Sony or does the consumer continue to eat heaping helpings of propriety pie?
What product will jump the propriety shark?
Sony is doing fine though
>>56507335
>comparing that piece of shit to god-tier sony
Fuck off, you fucking piece of shit.
>>56507354
So are many companies. Sony used to be a tech innovator.
First:
Walkman
CD
Discman
Portable TV
palm size 8mm camcorder
HD broadcast camera
OLED TV
Blu-ray
But for every win they abused consumers with propriety memory cards or tried to force a standard that was clearly not what the market wanted only because they missed the boat on getting license fees by creating it, mini-disc vs MP3 players.
They just recently had their first full year of being profitable after three years of losses.

What encryption program can i use that had been audited for backdoors and / or is open source. Dont say bitlocker for gods sake... also how can i hook up my magnesium ribbion / thermite to light when i hit a button?

>also how can i hook up my magnesium ribbion / thermite to light when i hit a button?
If you want that and wouldn't know how to go about finding how to set that up, that means you aren't some genius hacker, and are probably hoarding CP. Just sent a tip to the fbi.
>>56507349
I am not claiming to be a genius hacker, anyone of that caliber of hackery wouldnt be asking 4cahn for what encryption software to use
Just how bad can Apple be at designing phones?
>>56507272
Shut up. It is brave and courageous that they stopped supporting the outdated and obsolete 3.5mm jack and the outdated and obsolete left-handed people.
>>56507272
>switching the iPhone to the left hand literally cuts the signal in half
That's some premium Apple engineering right there.
>>56507308
It was courageous when Oppo didn't put a headphone jack in their R5. When your company has a cult following, nothing you do is corageous.
Should I Hackintosh or get Linux Mint?
I want to move on from Windows, but not for some unusable meme OS
>>56507255

Hackintosh varies from fairly simple to fucking nightmare and you have no idea which until you start.
>>56507970
