Is pressing and holiding power button to shut down your laptop is bad for hardware? I always curious about it and never had good answer.
>>56520335
No but it might be bad for your software.
It's kinda like force quitting a browser. It wipes clean a lot of shit that might not want to be wiped clean.

>The Verge says removing headphone jack is just a cynical cash grab.
If it was a cash grab there wouldn't be a dongle cable in the box with the phone.
Yeah the backlash will last a few weeks. Apple is in the position to do what EVERY company does, make as much money as possible and exploit their market position while they can.
Meanwhile, there is a month wait for iPhone 7 already.
People will gnash their teeth and move on.
>>56521214
Try reading the article first. Also, adapter doesn't allow charging and is another thing to break or lose, and because it has a Lightning connector even if you buy a third party replacement (to save a couple of bucks) Apple still makes money.
Going to be switching from iPhone within the next few months. Was thinking of getting a Galaxy s7 Edge but wanted /g/'s input. Should I go for it or is there a better option for the same price point?

This is why normies get Samshit phones and then decide Android is shit.
Wait a month and get the Pixel or Pixel XL. Getting an Android phone anywhere other than straight from Google is retarded.

What I don't understand is why Samsung tries so hard to force people into their own ecosystem. They don't provide near enough services like Apple, Google, or Amazon for it to work long-term. Add in all the bloat and Touchwizz garbage and no one in their right mind would take Samsung.

Welcome to /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Users of all levels are welcome to ask questions about GNU/Linux and share their experiences.
*** Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread. ***
Before asking for help, please check our list of resources[*].
If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

Wrong board.
I am looking for online sources that teach Machine Learning.
Looking for something that teaches you the math + allows you to do programming projects.
I've seen some like:
https://www.datacamp.com/
But not sure if they are worth going through.
Any recommendations?

Hard drive is dying, trying to transfer shit to a new one, it's very slow and usually crashes. Anyone dealt with this shit before?
Literally never had hard drive problems before and I don't have a fucking clue.
>crashes
Boot lincucks from usb stick, then:
dd bs=4k if=/dev/sdDISKWHICHISKILL of=/dev/sdNEWDISK conv=noerror,sync
No crashes then. Will still take forever.

Are you talking about ethereum or blockchains in general?
The reason ethereum isn't doing anything is that bitcoin exists and since it can now do everything ethereum can but has far more support there is no reason to use ethereum.
>>56520140
Ethereum specifically.
Thought Bitcoin was a massive pain to develop for due to Satoshi's ultra-limited language?
Has that changed?
>>56520171
It doesn't really matter that vanilla bitcoin is somewhat limited, because one of the core points of bitcoin is that it can serve as a base for layers to be built on top of it.
One such layer that has been developed is called Counterparty, and it is amongst other things a feature-complete port of the ethereum scripting language but using bitcoin's blockchain instead.
