I work in a pub and we've had 5 or 10 people coming in wearing google glass. I always tell them that they are not permitted to film or photograph in the establishment without express permission, and since I have no way of knowing if the device is taking photographs or filming they will have to take them off while on the premises. All but one have heeded my warning (probably wasn't the first time someone asked them to do this) but one of them didn't. He kept filming and said he wouldn't stop because his eyes are cameras too or some autism like that. I took the glasses from him, threw them on the ground and stomped on them. He got angry and almost violent but our guards showed up to escort him out. He said he would press charges but apparently he didn't because we never received any letter about it. Either way he was pretty drunk so his case would probably have been dropped right away.

I hardly see any reason to go beyond 1080 unless you have a 300cm television.

1080p is like the 44.1/48k of video.

Make sure your go path is set up. Also a tip: be on Linux. While go works on Windows, it's unforgiving as it's a non graphical language.

Also I recommend Atom as an IDE, with the plugin go-plus. It's what I use at work.

Most people have issues with the actual environment starting out...

A gopath is basically a folder with three sub directories (bin, src, pkg) that is under the environmental variable GOPATH. So, on Linux my gopath might be /home/user/go

As for actual projects, your working directory is in $GOPATH/src. In this directory, you can run commands like go run, go build, and go install. For projects though, I recommend each one being in its own folder under src.

Dependencies

Make sure you have git installed.
Dependencies are easy to install on go. Most of the time you'll depend on something that's on Github. For this example, let's use this chink web framework, beego (https://github.com/astaxie/beego). To get it, all we need to do is type is 'go get github.com/astaxie/beego'. This will download it to our $GOPATH/src. This allows us to reference it, and even modify it.
