Better be both.
You can rice your Emacs, but with Vim you'll be always capable to edit files on remote servers (vi is a default editor in UNIX systems).
If you want, you can always install Vim hotkeys upon Emacs btw.

Depends on what you mean by future proof. But from a high performance gaming standpoint, neither the 1060 nor the 480 are particularly future proof. They already struggle with ultra settings in some titles and that number is only growing larger. In 2 years you will frequently have to lower your settings to a medium-high to achieve an acceptable frame rate.
Unless you are okay with medium-high settings then getting the 6 GB 1060 is literally a waste of $80.

Well here's the truth, by the time those things are fucking relevant in 2~3 years time there will be newer generations of cards performing much better and you'd be upgrading anyways.
When looking at midrange cards, get the one that performs better now, as you'll be upgrading a few years down the line to something that blows the current generation away anyways.
Imaging the butthurt if Vegas or GTX1160 were to suddenly drop performance onto the market another magical 80%+ in performance over the current RX480 or GTX 1060 like the GTX 1060 did with the GTX 960?

Is there any actual good mice I can buy that doesn't shit itself in a year? I had a Deathadder, love its shape, but that piece of shit started double clicking after a year, and then the middle click stopped working. Bought a Rival to replace it, and it has some fucking terrible grip rubber that disintegrates when you touch it. Is pic related any better? Looks like shit honestly, but if its build quality is actually any good, I'm willing to look past that. I got massive hands, so fingertip is basically the only grip I can use.
