What is your opinion on Ubuntus Phone OS?

No apps. I cant use a phone without Whatsapp daily.
well... apps will be developed eventually
can you confirm monitoring mode on the nexus 5?
I found an exploit in Ubuntu to take control of the entire disk partitions, so basically any Linux distro really. I also found a vulnerability in the newest OSX.
Wut do
Patch it

No you didn't you cunt.
Just because I showed you my bug report that I did for the bug bounty program does not mean you found it you fucking cunt.
I'm sure we all know of Obama's plan to hand over ICANN to the UN, which would allow censorship-prone governments to have a say over what goes on the internet and what doesn't, but it gets worse.
This is their strategic plan for 2016-2020
https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/strategic-plan-2016-2020-10oct14-en.pdf
In short, ICANN wants to turn the internet into a "diverse" shithole by bringing the entire third world aboard. Also, warning to anyone who wants to read the whole thing: buzzwords like "diversity" and "inclusivity" are all over it.
If you want a vision of that, look at this video they put out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da1RQt9-e-g
Never mind Tor or overlay networks, VLANs or VPNs, we need to secede from ICANN and make our own internet with its own IP address space completely separate from its leftist agendas.
>>56692582
How can Obongo do this
There are already Legacy IP blocks. Get one of those and you're set, you don't have to answer to anyone.
>>56692582
how do you push an agenda on the entire internet? this is silly
worst case scenario they make the spying more global
So do I learn how to use Debian/Linux/Git before I attempt to learn any programming languages?
plz respond
Sure you can learn Linux, but Git isn't going to benefit you unless you know how to program. I would say pick up a language and work on small projects. Then, try to make something bigger, and use Git as a tool for version control.
>>56692567
Git can be useful for non-programmers. I explained it to a couple of writers I know, and they find it really useful.
Holy fuck, finally a PHP book written by someone who is not an autistic freakazoid.
Any other books written as well as this?
Hell any other computer books that give instruction that makes fucking sense and gets to the point CLEARLY instead of spooing out how fucking knowledgeable the author is and drown you in a sea of wtf?
Literally feel like I mastered PHP in under 150 pages.

I recently got into a relationship with a girl her ex husband is crazy and is a bona fide hacker and has worked for a few security companies, penetration auditing companies, and as a freelance hacker for big corporations. I have reason to believe he has targeted my old phone and it has been irrecoverably destroyed along with a few spyware tools along the way.
this got me thinking along with the normal antivirus, antimalware, firewall suites what can be done on the software side without making the phone unusable for its intended purpose as a smart phone.
I have done a bit of research and looking around and everyone seems to only think of the physical side of this security anti theft and what have you. I think it's high time we look into software protection of personal data and system critical processes.
itt; let's share and discuss ideas stories and hang ups.
I run a firewall, and vpn. Along with avl security and kapersky and all my storage is encrypted yet on my old phone I still had spyware popping up through the firewall and getting cought by my antivirus yet it still was breached what level of security is enough? At what point is the over kill a moot point?
>>56691972
Smartphones are insecure by definition. You can literally beep into them by mimicking a cell phone tower. It's impossible to harden one.
If you want phone security get a dumbphone or learn to live without.
>>56692053
That is understood but what can be done to help the odds in my favor. Or is it fucked by nature? It's a Linux based system so if rooted there has to be some level of protection against a reasonable level of attack
it's one of those threads where you post a screenshot of your torrent client

Do I need an expensive projector for power point presentations to look decent?
I'll be doing some seminar type things in a few weeks and I can either pay for a room with a projector or just shell out some shekels myself for a cheaper room without one.
If I need to pay 1000 bux for an hd 1080p projector I'll probably just rent a room with one already installed.
>in return have some basic marketing information
>>56691446
gonna bump 3 times
even a yes/no answer would help!
na, you want elements to be reasonably big for everyone to see them clearly, assuming you room isn't tiny
big elements means you don't need much resolution, i'd say even 800x600 should be perfectly fine unless you're showing off graphic designs or something
Decent is subjective, obviously a 1920x1080 projector will look better than a lower res one. However, many find a standard resolution projector to be acceptable.
A bit of advice regardless of the path you choose: make the presentation the same size and shape as the protection (e.g. 1920x1080 presentation for 1080 screen). This will prevent it from appearing stretched, and text will be crisper.
I'm gonna do it. I'm pretty much done with gaming. I spend my time either programming or watching netflix or listening to music. What is the most comfy desktop linux. I have wincucks 10 on my PC but I promised myself Id switch to some sort of distro after I finished up.
pic unrelated
How about you read the sticky you fucking faggot
>>56691203
You're making the right choice anon.
Kind of hard to give you a recommendation since I don't like it personally, but "most comfy" is probably Oogabuntu if you want something that just werks
Isn't too difficult to set up something a little more involved if you're patient though

I run Manjaro on my laptop but I was thinking Xubuntu since "it werks".

>black apple device
The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.

Guys, help, I think college is hitting me
>Be me
>College
>Studying Computer Science
>Have a Self-builted PC and a Laptop
>I'm having no time for gaming in my PC anymore and I'm spending most of my time in my laptop
>Deciding if I sell my laptop and PC and buy a better laptop
>In my house I would connect the laptop to the monitor, keyboard and mouse
>In college, well... I would just take the laptop
In that case... Which laptop should I buy?
I would love a Laptop with great screen and battery

Starting tomorrow, I'm going to learn Japanese, how to draw, how to animate, how to sound like a kawaii moe animu and then produce a freedoms-respecting anime for /g./

i work for a powerful internet conpany for pver six years. they are practicing illegal things and doing horrible things. i finally spoke out and they are threatening me with firing me. i went to human resources too. a lot of evidence if on our 'lync' but they won't pull the chat conversations. they are powerful. i have no voice.
sorry for all of the spelling errors. i am just so upset. they are a huge company and are hiding things. its like a movie.
leak it here, all of it
they will find a way to fire me. i don't know anything about computers or to keep myself annymous. i reached out here as a first timer. i feel trapped. i went through the chain of command and even out handbook says to do what i did and now they're trying to find a way to get rid of me for speaking out instead of fixing thr problem. but the problem is coming from the top, most powerful people. i am nothing to them. disposable.
