Is it wrong that I want to uninstall windows 10 and install 7 instead?

No. I did the same thing. Win7 is GOAT
>>
>>56808032
Depends on if you wanna use DX12.
If you don't, you're fine
>>
>>56808045
I'm currently downloading 7+SP1. Can you still download updates on 7? I remember reading some cases of Windows Update taking hours to show the updates or sometimes not even working.

>>56808092
Nope. My graphics card is weak as fuck (GT610) so I'm not going to miss DX12.

Really, I wanted to give 10 an opportunity, but it's buggy, a tad slower and looks awful,

I've seen so many retards here claim SSD's aren't any better than HDD's with their only argument being "the boot time isn't that much of a difference".

Can't tell if they're idiots, shitposters or just shilling.

http://arstechnica.co.uk/security/2016/09/linux-kernel-security-needs-fixing/

>The clear consensus at the Linux Security Summit was that squashing bugs is a losing strategy. Many deployed devices running Linux will never receive security updates, and patching a security hole in the upstream kernel does nothing to ensure the safety of an IoT device that could be in use for a decade and may forever be ignored by the manufacturer.
>Even devices that do receive patches may see long gaps between public bug discovery and a patch being applied. Cook gave the example of an Internet-connected door lock that an end-user might well use for 15 years or more. Such devices are likely to receive sporadic security patches, if at all.

>Worse, the average lifetime of a critical security bug in the Linux kernel, from introduction during a code commit to public discovery and having a patch issued, averages three years or more. According to Cook’s analysis, critical and high-severity security bugs in the upstream kernel have lifespans from 3.3 to 6.4 years between commit and discovery.

So it turns out that not updating software leaves security holes in said updated software?

You could replace linux with anything there.
If devices are not getting bugfixes then it doesn't matter what they're running.

I'm in an internship and I don't understand anything.
Here's the extend of my interaction with my tutor so far:
>here's your table
>do you know about cucumber?
>I heard it's some kind of test automation tool.
>I want to use it to help developpement, find some doc and read about it so you can tell the team later.
>By the way we're using react native to devellop this app.
It's been two days and I'm killing myself reading heaps and heaps of documentation about languages I haven't learned for this tool assuming you already have and know you way around your developpement stack when all I know about what we're making is the framework.
Can't even pretend and not do shit, it's an open space and I got the spot with the least privacy possible. And I'm stuck here for at least three months, I'm sure everything will be fine.

This is nothing but a test. Removing the best features of a product such as SD card removable battery, water resistance, etc and selling it as a premium device.

If it works and people buy this shit we as customers are fucked. If you settle for less then you will get less.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Let's talk about quality electronics that will last you a long time. Ideally stuff that is inexpensive as well.

A great example is the Casio F91W watch. It just works, is very durable and still sells millions every year since it was released in 1991.

I'd probably say any older Mac. They can still run modern web browsers and do light video editing. You can normally get them used for like $200 depending on the year you choose.

This, they're made for an education market so they are already expecting drops and scratches

This anon is right. There's a lot of rage nowadays about the chokehold TI has on the graphic calculator market, but the 83+ and 84+ models are very solid.
