How can one man be so based?
By writing code like this:

absolutely disgusting

What the fuck does that do?

useless shit
Since when did discord become /g/ approved?
>>56792154
It shit but all the cool kids use it, so us pedos have to adopt.
I use curse. Just a preference. Discord just looks so busy
Discord is pretty awful but there are no decent alternatives. It's so incredibly hard getting regular people to even think about using something other than what they're familiar with. It's surprising a good chunk of people actually did move to Discord.
What do you want in an IM program, /g/? I just want customization and privacy. Locally stored chat logs are nice too but I've found that programs are moving away from those for some reason.
Chrome is objectively the best browser and you have nothing but "muh botnet" as counterargument
I am gonna let you in a little secret, no one and I mean literally no one gives a single fuck about your weeb lifestyle you fucking retarded paranoid neckbeard
Work on your shilling or we'll have to let you go.
opera's the same but features so no

In my experience firefox nighlty is far superior and faster...
What are these for? Why do people still use them?
Talk to people far away. Send them written messages. People still use them.
Business, so far there hasnt been any fappening styled security breaches as far as I know , so people buy them for security.
>>56791924
My point is why do a lot of politicians/business people use these over just regular smartphones like Samsung/Apple?
Unix is love, Unix is life.
>lol no support
no thanks
>>56791028
FreeBSD is not POSIX certified, so calling it "unix" is wrong.
>>56791117
>BSD and System V are the successors of Unix, with BSD sources being the primary sources of Unix version 8, 9, and 10
>some trademarkfag tries to claim otherwise
Nice bait mate.
If linux is so great a customization why don't we see more "ultra-modified" setups like webm related?
checkmate lincucks
because it looks fuckin dumb that's why

Alright the Thinkpad memes aside, are HP Elitebooks any good? And yes I know that HP overall are complete trash. I've used Thinkpads and Dell Latitudes in past, but I had Elitebook in my last office and I kinda liked it, didn't overheat like all my Dells have.
img related thinking of buying used HP Elitebook 2570p for 200$. Sounds like a really good deal for me.
>inb4 no
Why is HP trash? Better than Dell.
>>56790503
>are HP Elitebooks any good?
Yes.
Now kill yourself for making a new thread instead of asking in the right thread.
yes

So /g/ stressed my 6600k all last night and she's sitting pretty at 4.4 GHz and 1.28 vcore (could probably go lower) but for the life of me I cannot stabilize 4.5 GHz. I've only tried as far as 1.38vcore as she starts getting a bit hot there. Are the any settings I may have missed that could give me slightly more stability? And post your over clocks please.
>>56790470
>3770k

its stable, could probably push 4.5GHz but my gpu turns my tower to a sauna so im idling on 35-40C on the cpu

Best I can do with my roll of the silicon dice. I feel my mobo may be limiting me a bit. It I doubt much more is there to gain without nitrogen or phase change.
>>56790534
Yea I'm pretty sure my mobo is what's preventing me hitting 4.5.

What are you working on /g/?
Trying to solve this problem on hackerrank:
https://www.hackerrank.com/challenges/simple-text-editor
But I'm timing out on test cases w/ 1 million inputs, would love some feedback
on how to speed this up:import std.conv, std.algorithm, std.string, std.stdio;
void main() {
auto stack = new Stack;
int opCount = to!int(strip(stdin.readln()));
foreach (_; 0 .. opCount) {
string[] inputs = split(strip(stdin.readln()));
int opType = to!int(inputs[0]);
if (opType == 1) {
stack.push(inputs[1]);
} else if (opType == 2) {
stack.pop(to!int(inputs[1]));
} else if (opType == 3) {
(stack.get(to!int(inputs[1])));
} else if (opType == 4) {
stack.undo();
}
}
}
class Stack {
private string data;
private int[] ops;
private string[] deleted;
private size_t[] appended;
this() {
data = [];
}
public void push(string value) {
ops ~= 1;
appended ~= value.length;
data ~= value;
}
public void pop(int i = 1) {
ops ~= 2;
deleted ~= data[$ - i .. $];
data = data[0 .. $ - i];
}
public char get(int charNumber) {
return data[charNumber - 1];
}
public void undo() {
int lastOp = ops[$ - 1];
ops = ops[0 .. $ - 1];
if (lastOp == 1) {
size_t appendLength = appended[$ - 1];
appended = appended[0 .. $ - 1];
data = data[0 .. $ - appendLength];
} else {
string deletedString = deleted[$ - 1];
deleted = deleted[0 .. $ - 1];
data ~= deletedString;
}
}
}

Thank you.
I'm going to potentially add a GUI to my racial slur generator today, and add more functionality.

Is that D?
Be me. I want to buy an older computer from my childhood but most of them were handy downs from the late 80's and early 90's.
My question is this. What's something you recommend getting?
>>56789648
It really depends on what you want.
>>56789648
Well, if you want it to be from your childhood, then what computers did you have back then?
>>56789648
Sounds like you want to be a hipster but as far as which machines have held up well? C64 above all.
Windows 10 has been REALLY buggy for me so far. What have I done wrong?
So a lot has happened since I installed windows 10 so i'll just start from the beginning.
I had windows 7 and had been waiting to install windows 10 because i didn't want to risk it just yet, as I know there are often bugs soon after release. However, my girlfriend had installed it on her computer and has not experienced any issues, so I thought I may as well give it a go.
there are a few issues I have experienced. Firstly, very quickly after installing I realized that I was getting weird graphical glitches, screen tearing kind of things. and my 2 monitor display would often glitch out and one monitor would show what is on the other for a second. http://i.imgur.com/E4c12uj.png this is an example of the graphics glitch, although this one is rather benign. Notice the left screen has a tear.
The other issue is that, after upgrading from win7, all my apps in win 10 were fine, then after installing a new graphics driver and some other apps (to try to fix graphics bug) most of my apps have not been working properly. for instance, I could navigate to where chrome was installed, but the PC didn't know it was installed and it was not appearing as an option in the default programs list.
I'm currently talking to a tech from Microsoft but I thought I share my story with /g/ because windows 10 is a piece of crap.
>>56789476
>then after installing a new graphics driver
Fix your video shit you stupid fucking nigger
