Holy shit what
I'm a recent EEfag graduate and I want to put C/C++ as a programming skill on my resume. When would it be appropriate to say I'm capable of writing in these languages?
Although I have experience with a few languages, I still feel like I'm only capable of writing relatively basic programs, but I don't think much would be expected from a recent EE graduate who only took a couple formal programming courses. I think it would be worth reading something on programming for embedded systems, but I haven't found anything yet.
Also, I recently went through the book in pic related and didn't have any trouble with it. I was going to move onto C++ now. I heard these two books were the best for getting into the subject:
"C++ Primer" by Lippman, Lajoie, and Moo
https://www.amazon.com/Primer-4th-Stanley-B-Lippman/dp/0201721481/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1475861831&sr=1-3&keywords=C%2B%2B+primer
"The C++ Programming Language" by Bjarne Stroustrup
https://www.amazon.com/Programming-Language-hardcover-4th/dp/0321958322/ref=dp_ob_title_bk
What do you guys think?
You can put it on your resume as long as you feel comfortable with programming in that language. Basically, expect to be able to answer questions about things like syntax, how it's operators are used, and possibly some information about standard library functions, if applicable. Of you worked your way through K&R you could absolutely put C on your resume. Just be honest if asked and say that you are not an expert, but feel comfortable using the language if asked to do something with it.
Can't suggest much in the ways of C++ books but if you are interested in a programming job I would highly suggest learning about algorithms and data structures, at least the essentials. Most companies that know what they're doing will care about knowledge in these areas more than how many programming languages you know.
I'm not sure I'd put C on my resume since recruiters would probably make a lot of assumptions about it
Maybe as long as you make it clear you mean you're "familiar with the language" or something
#include <stdio.h>
int main()
{
int a = 5;
int b = 15;
int c = --a+++++b--;
printf("%d\n",c);
return(0);
}
If you can figure out what this will print without compiling it you're good enough to put C on your resume.
Post those cute fans and small motherboards in big cases!
Under cleaning / HDD swap in progress.
guts 2k16v3 taken for you guys this morning

What does /g/ think about HackInTosh? Is there any guarantee it works?

Placebo for poorfags that want the fagOS but can't afford it, yet they complain about it when their shitty parts fail and get no updates.

Do you have a naming structure or theme thst you follow when naming your home devices?
Pic related, mine are all named after mad scientists.

I name them what they are because I don't have autism.
Is there a way to associate IP address settings with a specific network in Windows 7?
I turned off DHCP on my parent's router and assigned static IPs to all the computers in the house because my sister's faggot friends keep walking in with iPhones and causing the network to shit itself.
However, whenever anyone takes their laptop anywhere else, I have to talk them through turning off the static IP and DNS addresses and then redo it when they come home.
Is there any way to have it change automatically when they connect to the home network?
>>56967148
Yes but they either have to buy a mac or install gentoo.
Use Mac address whitelist in your router settings instead of being a fucking retard turning off dhcp.
>>56967148
instead of assigning the ip statically on each computer, turn dhcp back on on the router, and then just make the dhcp scope 0 so it can't g ive out any leases. Statically assign the computers ip address from the router. Then you don't have to change anything on the computers and they'll still be static when they're on your network.

Is my graphics card dead/dying?
I'm going to start this thread by saying when it comes to computers, I'm basically retarded. I know how to put one together, but can't diagnose problems or fix it myself.
Anyway, a few days ago my computer started artifacting hard when I was playing games, leading to an eventual crash. I tested it with a few more games and got the same result. Any load on the gpu will cause it to artifact then fuck up display drivers.
So I booted up the computer in safe mode, uninstalled all drivers, and let Windows install its own drivers. After restarting my computer, my screen was peppered in green dots. When I reinstalled Nvidias drivers, everything seemed fine, but again, any mild load put on the graphics card, would cause it to artifact and crash the drivers.
I'm really not sure how to fix the problem, Google isn't helping.
Running Windows 10
Gpu is a GTX 780
Power supply is 750W so it can't be a lack of power.
Pic related is some of the worst artifacting I saw while trying to tinker last night. Sorry if the photo ends up upside down or something.
Oh yeah dude, you're screwed.
He's dead, Jim. You let it overheat.
Yes it's dieing, either try to RMA it if it has RMA or look up gpu baking method
