Your kids will use shitty ARM SoCs or some extra backdoored x86 derivative and never use a ppc workstation from sun.
let that sink in for a bit.
Future technology woes thread.

I think you took the wrong exit, reddit was the other way
Wasn't Sun's big thing SPARC? PowerPC chips were pretty much just produced IBM, Motorola, and I think Freescale.
And it's not as though the architecture is completely dead. PowerPC has grown into just POWER and now OpenPOWER, but there aren't many companies that make use of it. In many cases, x86_64 outperforms POWER, or at the very least, achieves better performance/$ and performance/watt.

Depends on the application. Generally speaking, Intel holds the crown on single threaded with POWER leading in multithreaded. Performance per watt is equally application specific. Per unit currency is harder to pin down though, as paying list price for POWER hardware is an exceptionally bad deal.

This is so obvious that it must be joke, like how anons say "your and idiot kill you'reself"

Are you trying to imply there were no PPC workstations?
>>57179668
there were PPC workstations though, just not from sun of course
>>57179772
>>57180038
No, there were and still are POWER workstations, not PowerPC. They're two slightly different things.
>>57181128
IBM hasn't made a POWER workstation in about a decade and, guess what, they ALSO made PPC workstations. Apple, too.
Stop trying to act like you know something.

excuse me?

reddit is all about numales and homosects, though
they just have a much larger population overall so the faggotry gets drowned out a little more by normies (who are still smarmy liberal asshats)
