Like I'm really gonna donate to this place when my (completely constructive) page edits get reverted in 10 minutes. Yeah, fuck that shit.

I haven't tried to edit a wiki page for years, seriously nearly a decade. Are they still this bad? From what I remember all the mods basically act like they're the only ones allowed to edit anything, unless you argue the shit out of it on the talk page for days until they get bored.

I won't deny it's one of the best websites in the history of the internet, but fuck me the culture is beyond toxic.

I expanded some of the pages on US history and this kept happening every time. I'm convinced by now that this Hmains thing isn't a person, it's a bot that automatically reverts pages and always posts the exact same message about unsourced/unhelpful edits.

I know a bunch of Python, a bit of C and C++ and a decent amount of VB.

I've got 8 weeks off break for the Christmas holidays before i start on my degree in Software Engineering.

What new programming language should i learn? It has to be useful for the future as i will most likely use it for my future career.

What future career would you like to have?

You have a pretty solid ground there (actually in the same boat, python,c++ and VB.net) im leaning towards C# or Java because they can actually get you hired. Some javascript wouldnt hurt either, but this depends on your goals regarding work.

I work in IT thought and barely need to use any programming so its w.e either way

I got it last week and love everything about it.

What's the beat way to encrypt an android device?

It won't save Jamal the Android Enthusiast from booting into your recovery and wiping it clean so he can sell it, or reflashing with a stock firmware, but at least he won't be able to look at your nudes.
>>
>Is there any point
If you have files you would rather people not see, you should encrypt them.

>"Don't use that software/OS anon! it isn't updated anymore! your computer will be at risk!"

are updates a meme? How am I going to be HACKED for not using the mega ultra latest stuff? am I being rused by companies in order to comply to the new era of creepy software?

>am I going to be HACKED
you will be if you're using software with publicly available and indexed unpatched security holes
>>
>>57809059
i.e. using firefox 20 because you like how it looks rather than 50. thousands of security vulnerabilities had been found and patched from 20-50. browsers get frequent security patches as holes are found. the other most important piece of software to keep patched would be a web server.
>>
>>57809039
wtf? do not understand how security patches work?

It's ext4. Always ext4.

I use xfs too for desktop and cloud server too. I has a bunch of blackout and always worked well.
>>
xfs

Mainly because it's stable enough to be the default in Red Hat 7, and I ran out of inodes once, so I'd rather use a filesystem that doesn't run out.
