You're an idiot. Offload some of that crap to an external drive, get some cloud storage, and/or fuck off.

Not a good video to load while at the dmv.

It's actually set up to dual boot macos9 and osx right now. How would I go about doing a fresh install? I wanna get the previous owners stuff off but idk where to get a copy of osx or macos9

wear plaid, fake glasses and drink starbucks while calling non-indie musicians sellouts. Oh and realize you pissed away twice as much money as the hardware is worth.

Nobody needs to use Arch. The best distro is Elementery.
Prove me wrong
Symlink won't serve a page
chcon -R -t httpd_sys_content_t /wsd/html won't work either
What do?
So after trying (and failing) to set up a software MIDI synth my sound output seems to fucked. I'm on ubuntu and until then everything just werked, all audio streams were set to 100% and I controlled the main volume as needed.
But now all audio from Firefox (Youtube, webms, everything) gets its own CubebUtils stream. The problem I have is that those streams are always set to 46% whenever they're opened which is annoying to me because all videos are now way too quiet and I have to crank the main volume up, then take it down again when I want to listen to music.
Any idea where I can set the default volume for those streams?
How old were you when you grew out of the whole GNU/Linux meme?
For me it was when I first got a job in IT and learned how the real world works.

NVIDIA

nvidia really knows it's userbase
So I got on an incredible deal for a pre-built desktop with these specs for $1150:
GTX 1080
i7 6700k
16gb 3000mhz ram
500GB SSD
+ decent case, mobo, etc
But at the same time, I know a ton of new shit is going to be announced in Jan during CES. With Vega and Zen on the horizon, is this the one time its actually worth waiting for? If this new architecture gives Nvidia and Intel a run for their money, prices will drop significantly early next year. Plus...I wouldnt have to get a pre-built from a well known yet shady company.

No.
It's a ploy to shutdown sites like 4chan so that the masses can more easily be controlled

If we get rid of archives and crack down on third party hosted-on-the-net archives, nothing should matter.
Having all your stuff on one computer you can take with you anywhere is just a hell of a lot more convenient. When you're at home you can just dock it and use it as normal and external GPU technology is quickly becoming better and cheaper.
The only downside to this is cost and the fact that pretty much every high end laptop released this year has been ass in one way or another, but how many years will it take until laptops replace desktops?
>>57806307
IiteraIIy impossibIe.
There wiII aIways be demand for superior power and cooIing.
>>57806342
When people say things like that they don't mean that there will be not a single desktop computer.
How many microcomputers do you see now? There's a few people who use Pis and Beagles as hobby machines, but they're not exactly a considerably large market worth considering as anything other than a minority.
I'm going to develop the first laptop/desktop combo.
Imagine your desktop computer. You've got a 256gb SSD boot drive, and then your archival HDDs. You've got your CPU, GPU, fans, monitor, mouse and keyboard, everything that makes a desktop a desktop. But then, when you get ready to head out, you teach over to the "tower" and you pop your laptop out of the top of the case. It contains the boot SSD, and everything else about it is a laptop. Light and portable. You can take it with you, use it throughout the day, then when you get back home, you pop it back into the computer case. The laptop powers down, its CPU and whatnot no longer necessary, and the desktop case's PSU powers the SSD and recharges the laptop battery. Now, you've got all your files you might have added or changed throughout the day right there. No need to transfer anything over from one unit to the other. You could even have a tiny little drive in the case that comes on with an os on it, so you could still be able to use the desktop and laptop separately if you wanted to. You could use the desktop as a seedbox during the day, or an FTP server so you could access files on the archival drives from your laptop if you were at work and needed something you forgot.
I think I might be an genius.

After using foobar2000 I can't find any music player for GNU/linux that would be suitable. Every player I've tried for gnu/linux have been complete cancer. I need your advice /g/. Maybe I'm missing something.

Nothing on linux can compare to the simplicity/customization of foobar.
I'm on my windows dual boot right now unfortunately, but I use foobar on wine in linux as well.
FireFox seems to be falling behind.
Are there any other browsers that support plugins that are as awesome as NoScript and uBlock?

hey /g/ I just finished building my livecd from scratch, it has gnome, budgie and i3. it feels good to complete a project and it's so much faster than in the VM is used to build it. Anyone else did just a project or do you linuxfags only jerkoff to anime and bash gamers?
I have a kernel that has a built in initramfs and acts as an efi executable with busybox, wget, and btrfs-progs, and is on two drives as efi/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI in case my efi variables get wiped or a drive dies.
In addition to that I rsync all my files from one SSD to the other every few days and the second SSD is also bootable.
For other machines I keep a 128GB flash drive with systemrescuecd because its the most up to date livecd and comes with portage.
Working on it.
