pretty much everwhere i go people are sucking this thing's dick as the hands down best android Tv device and it does a fuckload of stuff, including kodi (the renamed XBMC) and Plex (a full media server you host yourself, stream your own stuff to other devices)

BUT

it's two hundred fucking dollars for the cheap one, WITHOUT the stick remote. and looking for one used doesnt help, their availability is so bad and the hype so high that a used one costs the same or more than a new one

definitely is way more poweful than any chinkbox, has Android TV interface.. plays 4k Yt and Netflix also i think.... i think it also plays hevc 60fps ...

way better than a chink box
>>
>>57813273

Do you have an HDTV?

Do you want a good Android TV Box?

Ubuntu if you want up to date packages or libraries,

Debian stable if you don't give a fuck.

Literally no reason to install Debian Testing.

I have this ancient Compaq LTE 5300 running windows 98
No Ethernet ports, no USB, just pcmcia slots and some parallel ports in the back
I've been struggling to get a pcmcia card to work with this thing. I've tried a few, they get power but the device manager doesn't seem to find them at all, even after installing the proper drivers
I'm thinking its a problem with the drivers for it but I'm finding it near impossibile to find the hardware identifier for the PC card slots

Any one have suggestions as to how I should proceed here? Pic related

>>
>>57812301
Get a proper 16bit PCMCIA card with 3.3V/5V support.
There are shitloads of wifi and ethernet cards that work with it and Win98, if you're unsure just get a Amiga PCMCIA wifi/ethernet card.
>>
>>57812318
I'm not sure it's the card itself that's the problem but the slot itself, I've tried 3 already and I don't even get an unknown device in the DM
>>
>>57812366
If you get a unknown device then it's working fine, PCMCIA is just 16-bit ISA, you don't need extra drivers for them except hot swapping.
It's definitely the cards then.
