Riddle me this, /g/.
My computer will only turn on when it is NOT plugged in. I have a Belkin surge protector between the outlet and my PC. The PC plugged into the protector. CPU is 6600k, Mobo is some ASUS ROG thing. No GPU (I don't really play games with it I picked the mobo for other reasons), DDR4 no-name RAM (Crucial I think?).
If I plug the computer in and try to turn it on nothing happens. If I unplug the computer I can turn the computer off and on by turning the Belkin off and on.
I'm not shitting you at all. I'll upload a video even if someone tells me what the easiest way to do so is from my phone.
I am so fucking confused. It happened randomly. It happens with both PSUs I have at my house. It happens inside and outside of my case.
I am so lost, what else can I try?

And no it isn't capacitors I don't think because it shuts itself off when I turn off the surge protector. There isn't lingering electricity. It's gotta have something to do with fields.

I live in europe and have sort of slow internet, streaming in 1080p isn't an option and even if it was, I couldn't watch english laguage shows like Westworld right now if it wasn't for torrents.
I love buying paper books and buy most of my games though. Music is a mixed bag, I pirate quite a bit but I've been going to a couple of concerts/ festivals every year.

I'm about to order some monitors for my new MacBook Pro 15" with Touchbar. Looking at the new LG Ultrafine 4K with built in charging/docking for the laptop.

I really want to buy a AMD GPU but for the sake of my professional work I feel I need to buy an NVIDA GPU. I'm making a FPS with a small indie team using the Unreal Engine and Blender. I'll be doing everything from coding to 3d modeling on this project and it's time for me to upgrade my GPU. I really would rather give my money to AMD over NVIDA but NVIDA just blows them out of the water. So can you give me a good reason to buy a AMD card over a 1080?
