It's the most complete software pack you can get legally and FOR FREE. What happened?

It only "failed" on the desktop (even though it's the best desktop OS), and for the same reason all the other operating systems like BeOS, Amiga, and OS/2 did:

Microsoft got Windows pre-installed on almost every PC. That's literally the ONLY significant reason.
>>
>poor marketing and advertising
>nerd stigma

All these reasons discourage newbies

This is a thread about satisfying sound cues/earcons in operating systems.

The new keyboard "pop" sounds in iOS 10 are so much nicer than the harsh clacking we've had until recently.

What sounds do you enjoy?

I've got a netbook from a homeless guy I promised to pay an Internet connection for 6 months (I'll renew it after that, obviously).

That looks pretty comfy, and having two computers in my backpack makes me hackerman as fuck.

this is fun but sometimes i feel like the only choice is hamfisted.

for example, using 17 characters:

the only solution i could come up with was

I was thinking about gifting a baby monitoring system to someone, bit they can be a bit expensive. Then i thought that its basically just a webcam and an interface to watch it from the phone.

Anyone knows about a program like that, that lets you manage webcams from your phone over wifi? Nothing i can find on google looks good

One problem with commercial babycams is that you only have one of them. With the thing i have in mind you can add as many as you want. The software must exist by now, its what any smart small business owner would use

Am i crossing the line with these attention grabber pics?

I'm sure either will work well for 6 months to a year. Until the GPU starts to have complications from the heat and you need a new gaming laptop.

Why do I need to restart my fucking shit router every other day???

It's a TP-Link WR2543 running DD-WRT. From time to time I need to physically go there and restart the thing, because I can't access even the webadmin.

Now I'm sitting in the office and I want to ssh into my server at home and it fucking times out and I KNOW THIS FUCKING SON OF A BITCH ROUTER IS AT FAULT AGAIN REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Also, recommend non-shitty routers here.

This happens to me too. Usually its my wireless shit which will stop working, my phone just refuses to reconnect to wifi until i reboot it.

Hi /g/.

You guys problably heard this question before, as surely Im not the first and not the last to consider such options but - with new PC and fresh SSD, should I install Windows 10 Education or Windows Server 2016?

Have legal keys and ISOs of both, as a student. Also, this is not some "Pro" or "Pro Education", but normal "Education" - Enterprise level but without Cortana, among other things.

I heard positive things about Server 2016 here on /g/, which is surprising, considering how often people bash Windows and MS here.

I also have some IoT version, but describtion specify that this version is clearly not for desktop/laptops.

>>
>>57849759
Just go for Education. You almost definitely don't need to be running a server OS as doing so can cause minor issues.
>>
>>57849759
Install Solus

It's a pain to update Win 10 Enterprise.
