Why is every modern operating system garbage?
>>57855913
because they require user input
because you're too stupid to bend a gnu/linux distro to your will
>>57855913
because programmers these days are lazy faggots who's work heavily rely on things made before 1990
also this:
>>57855953
Would you ever consider using an old, outdated OS on which to do work which didn't require the internet?
My attention span is fucking atrocious and I deserve your abuse, no doubt, but I'm pondering this as an answer. Either as a VM or on a small partition.

i dont have any hardware old enough to run anything older than windows 7. but i run mostly Linux anyway,
just this year a threw a shoe box full of old windows and Linux CD DVD roms in the trash, win95, win 98 win2k winxp, various software for both windows and linux,
why keep that old stuff, it wont run on modern hardware anyway
I've got a Pentium II 450Mhz with 256mb of ram I run windows 2000 on but i mostly just fuck around with it and torture it by making it watch youtube videos which it does surprisingly well
I use Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Windows XP.
Is non-free software private property, in the Marxist sense?

Install Gentoo GNU + Linux or another operating system.

Normie hipster shit. So probably popular on modern /g/.
>>57855735
Who?
Hi /g/,
I'm in the market for a laptop/tablet hybrid thing and found this. It seems to be as powerful as the Surface, but less expensive. Does anyone have some experience with it and can tell me about the keyboard/build quality etc.?
Acer is shit.
Battery life is shit, build quality is shit.
Not bad for the money, but be aware that it won't be as good as a Surface in regards to "polish" (i.e. why people like Macs).
I was just in the same position and ended up grabbing a refurb SP4 for $570 on Newegg (i5/4GB/128GB) which isn't awful. Toss in another $70 for a type cover and, yeah, it's definitely more expensive, but I'd argue definitely worth it.

What does the CPU have to do with the choice of OS? This is gay bait, OP.
Ok /g/ found pic related lurking in the closet. What memeOS should I put on it?
Specs:
>Acer aspire one 751h
>1Gb RAM

Kevin GNU + Linux

Gentoo, motherfucker
Bodhi and Lubuntu ran somewhat nicely on my Dell Mini 9, though I always had issues with the wifi.
How do I format my RAM?
>>57855544
>install gentoo
>dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ram
duh.
>>57855544
put some thermal paste on dem chips
>>57855544
Boil some water. Pour it into cup. Keep adding salt until it can no longer dissolve more. Wash RAM with prepared solution.

What are you working on, /g/?
>>57855325
What would you suggest for a small project? Django or Flask?
I don't have that much experience with Python but i have worked with Golang and Nodejs
>>57855325
>What are you working on, /g/?
Thinking about what to work on.
I already did everything I needed in Python, there's nothing left, as far as I know...
>>57855501
Django - if you have no / little experience in python, because the framework will make a lot of decisions for you in terms of the structure, managing the application's state etc. It's still a good framework even if you are experienced.
Flask - if you want to control every aspect if the app, chose the libraries you use and configure them to your liking.
If you want to hit the ground running fast, I would suggest Django.
why do you guys shit on this? i had the easiest time learning how to code through this.
it gave me exercises and i did them. and it wasn't just some 500 page preface of how python was invented by the ancient jorgumand to subdue humanity.
I think we're shitting on the C one.

Hello /g/
I have 200-300 euros and want to buy an amazing portable cassette player.
i.e. Panasonic RQ-SX91, sony WM-DD9, WM-D6C.
I live in Milan and am going to Tours in france tomorow for 3-4 days.
What do you recommend I buy for sound quality(as in listening i don't intend to record things) and where can I buy it?
Thanks
WHY THO
>>57855060
Maybe he has a collection of old tapes he wants to listen to? Also a lot of indie bands are releasing their music on cassette to curb pirating.
