It's been objectively proven that Linux is the fastest OS.

Why do you want to move away from Tixati? I switched to it a few months ago and it's been a lot better than the previous clients I've tried. Transmission is also a good choice. Just avoid anything that uses libtorrent, like Deluge, qBittorrent or rtorrent. libtorrent libraries are full of bugs, one of the more notorious ones being a bug that causes your torrents to stall permanently.

Fuck google-chrome and firefox, both are slow pieces of shit.
>>57866787
>Fuck google-chrome
have fun getting XSS'ed with your chromium v54. also chrome and chromium are like the exact same thing. chrome has a small amount of codecs and update code added
only thing that bothers me on chrome is the fucking cache, always fucks me up when I'm trying to write a webpage. it saves the last version of it after i edit the file until i disable the cache with an extension
>>57866942
>have fun getting XSS'ed with your chromium v54
i dont think you know how XSS works or what it is.
chromium lacks couple of licence features that google-chrome has, thats about it.
with google-chrome my laptop uses 5gb ram total, with chromium I only use 3.5gb total.

Intel to use Radeon for its next gen igpu.

>>57866754
There were rumours about this some months ago.
The IP Lease should do well for AMD. Whether this be simply income from the lease, or some IP lease for CPU tech from Intel, which would push some way for Zen+
Will be interesting either way.
>>57866788
Knowing Intel's market tactics, and AMD's awful negotiating skills...
AMD are probably going to end up paying Intel for each processor they make, instead of Intel paying AMD a licence fee.
>>57866913
If Intel were happy with what they were getting out of the nVidia deal, they would have stayed where they were. Instead Intel are now leasing IP from AMD. That's a strong statement in itself depending on how deeply you want to read into it.
IP lease isn't really something Intel can bamboozle AMD on. It's just a flat deal. We pay you money, you let us use your things. AMD already covered the costs when they developed the IP. So AMD really aren't going to lose out on this. No matter how much they get from the deal, it's more than they would otherwise get without it in place. It's a good thing for AMD, covers some operating costs, especially if it's anywhere near the $1.5b that Intel paid out to nVidia over the 5 years they were dealing with eachother. Depending on specifics, AMD could be getting more than that out of Intel.
So, uh, I discovered both my local and external HDD are not enough to store all the shit Im downloading. Im looking for some kind of solution - are there some alternatives to NAS? If going for NAS, what should I look out for?
>pic unrelated
There are only two choices: fill your computer with hard drives, or build a NAS. Unless you are a faggot and like cloud storage.
I ended up buying usb hubs and plopping in an 8tb harddrive to empty onto every few days.
only power it on when writing to or when pulling files off of and it stays cold and lasts long
>>57866457
More storage is never the answer.
Less hoarding is the answer.

C is a different kind of hard, and requires a different kind of autism from video game development.
My advice for learning practical C is to use open source projects written in C, and dig around whenever you find something that breaks. Otherwise, learning the best practices can be hard, since the language has been around so long, and everyone has their own ideas of what is best.
And don't be afraid to reinvent the wheel because, for better or worse, that's just part of the C culture. Every company seems to have their own library for shit like LinkedList, HashMap, etc. Use it as an excuse to learn more of what goes on under the hood. Then go ahead and use a battle tested lib if you need it for a real project.
