I want to buy a projector for a home theater. I don't want to spend more than $200 on the projector and $100 on the screen. Is this a decent budget, or will it look like shit?

It doesn't have to be 4k or anything, I just want to be able to project movies and video games in 1080p

Here's one I was looking at
https://www.amazon.com/iRulu-Projector-Lumens-Cinema-Display/dp/B01EAB9A28/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1482368755&sr=8-3&keywords=projector

And I haven't really thought about audio yet, but if anyone has relatively cheap suggestions that'd be dope

1080p projectors start at $400.
you always have to read the fine print with projectors.
>native resolution.

Resolution (dpi): 800x480, support 1080P, Projection screen size: 32-200 inches, Color: 16.7K

Damn, good catch, I guess I'll have to save up a little more.

Also, if anyone here has their own projector, are they pretty much only usable in completely dark rooms?

So I got this Cisco server. It has no storage as of right now. I'll buy some next month (SAS drives). Was wondering what server OS should I install. Thinking about Gentoo, but was considering Windows Server 2008 because I want to get familiar with Window Servers just in case I get a job that requires me to work with some Windows shit. Thoughts /g/?

Whats the specs of the thing for starters? Assuming a Xeon 5140 from the thing of tape on top. Its just about 10 years old and I hope you didn't pay much if anything for it. Its gonna eat power and be outperformed by everything. You'll pay more for the drives than its worth that you could buy a more modern machine like anything running a 5500/5600 series Xeon.

In other words, don't bother. Run Win2k8 or Gentoo in a VM on your computer instead.
>>
>>58114970
Don't bother with SAS drives you can use regular SATA - but >>58116565 is right it's really just kinda junk. Might be ok if you want to tear it down and learn a bit but I wouldn't actually run anything on it.

All the cool kids are running Open Indiana. It has some very unique features.
Or you could run esxi on the metal and install both winshit and loonix.

I don't really find it useful because I know what videos I select, plus with how big the text is, it doesn't even display a lot of info.

If you want to get rid of hiberfile fust disable hibernation it is a file that stores the contents of your memory during hibernation.
If you want to get tid the the page file just turn off paging. Not that I'd recommend either. They're both very useful features.

I have this Dell Latitude 2110
>Intel Atom N470 1.83GHz
>2GB DDR2 667MHz
>10.1" 1366x768 display

Not exactly the best of specs as you can tell but it's workable.
Just trying to figure out what the best Distro would be to use on it.
Any suggestions?

Error, Notepad was not declared in this scope. Maybe if you used a real editor you would be able to know this before you even tried compiling.
