Hi /g/
Basically, on Christmas eve, my dads wired applel keyboard broke because he poured bleach all over it (don't ask).
I ordered him a new one off Amazon for £40 and it came today, but i was wondering, could i return the faulty one to Amazon and get the money back? Or do they have some sort of serial number?
Probably not, since they will see it has bleach poured on it which will void warranty/rma
>>58208639
Assuming though, that no damage was visible, would it be worth a shot?
Sell it on eBay to some clueless appletard
Hello there /g/
I come here with a hope that you will provide me with information. What system I should install on machine with this specification?
Atom N455 (1.66 GHz)
1 GB of DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)
HDD with 160 GB of capacity.
It's Acer Aspire ONE model D255.
I'm thinking about Lubuntu or Kubuntu.
My onyl requirement is that system have to have a windows based interface. (please don't kill me for that)
All sugestions are welcome!
And pardon my manners, but I was warned by kind Anons from /vr/ that I should behave when I enter to this territory.
Install Gentoo
And this thread drowned in the depths of catalog.

I havent bought a new tech device in two years.
I haven't bought any device in 1 year, and it's because I'm poor
OK
Contemporary tech devices own you.
I dropped my S7 the wrong way the other day and gave it a small crack in the corner that runs across the screen a little. The screen still works perfectly but knowing that tiny crack is there there kinda bothers me but I don't want to spend $200 to get it fixed. Any tips on how to get over it live with it?
Kill yourself
Fill the crack with superglue. Apply a little to the screen and quickly use some straight edge to distribute it into the crack filling the tiny gap. Use wood or paper or even your finger and use the 10 seconds superglue, it is known to really pull well, pulling the broken pieces closer.
If the crack is really fine, it is enough to get a tiny amount into the top of the crack.
Good luck and work fast!

There will probably be a fork or something, cool your jets.

There is a fork but nobody knows if it will be successful, as of yet they don't even have build targets

so i went and bought the apple airpods like the sheep i am only to find out that the audio latency is unbearable, i cant watch youtube videos because the audio and video are so out of sync probably by like 2 seconds. for music they are perfect but for anything else they are unusable, this is why you dont remove the 3.5mm jack
Is this bait? This has to be bait...

Airpods are cancer.
Looking to build an older DAW.
PC needs to be quiet so the Pentium 4 may be out of the question. I'd also like to know what limitations are there in terms of CPU speed and RAM size with Win98-ME?
I'm guessing the 440bx chipset line for motherboards are what I'm looking for.
I'm not sure what would be a good PSU though. Needs to be quiet and support a P3 and possibly an ISA GPU.
I'll be running Cool Edit Pro 2.1 since it can do multiple audio tracks at once, midi, and runs on 300mhz processors. I think the recommended speed is 700mhz P3.
I'll then transfer the tracks and everything to a modern workstation for editing.
>>58208166
why does it need to be quiet if you're gonna do everything else on a modern workstation? do your midi work there, export .midi files, then put them in your old machine?
also why cant you use XP? it had pretty swell backwards compatibility
>>58208178
Quiet because it will also be for audio recording. The hardware does 8 tracks at once and there are no XP drivers. It must run on the 98 kernel.
>>58208209
why cant you record on the modern machine? im missing why you NEED the vintage machine at all...
also if you're going to record like with microphones, try putting the computer in a different room, that's kind of been how its done since we introduced computers to studios.

Are there any radio amateurs here? What are you thinking of making /hrg/ - Ham Radio General? Anyway, look what ham radio is coming to me
>>58207798
I was thinking of getting into ham radio but can't be boverd with getting a licence
>>58207798
I don't give a shit about your radio. Show us your antenna. Any stupid fuck can buy an expensive radio, not everyone can set up a impressive farm.
I know a lot about software but my hardware and electronics skill are lacking. I know a bit about the physics in the background, but never transllated that knowledge to the real world in my mind. As a long term goal, I decided it would be educational to build a simple calculator that can perform basic artihmetics.
I this a reasonable goal or did I pick something far too complicated?
I fap to that picture daily

fuck me too man.

What does /g/ think of fingerprint scanners? Are they a suitable unlock method or do you prefer patterns or numbers?
botnet
>>58207661
I also use botnets as verification!
I just have a problem when one of my Bots gets removed and/or is offline

Once you have fingerprint saved, it will be used against you by advertisers, by the state, by criminals, etc.
What's it like knowing you will be living through the development of the botnet for the next 60 years?
What are you doing to stop it?
>>58207568
an hero when visiting a googlel server.
>>58207568
>What are you doing to stop it?
Is there anything that can be done? It's already in full swing. Pretty much all of the world's population is dependent on the botnet and has been datamined sufficiently.
It's too late. You can't even avoid it by becoming a luddite, your peers will simply add you to the botnet, tag you on photos, back up your contact details to the cloud etc.
Visit your friend's house and there is the always-online microphone and camera with cloud facial recognition. Your face is now stored securely in Amazon/Google/Facebook/whatever cloud.
You want to take the bus and you gotta use your electronic pass, your trip is now logged. In 10 years you go to a grocery store across the street and they don't accept paper currency.
It's simply too late now. Maybe if normies magically started caring, but they don't give a shit and that's very unlikely to change.
