Just buy a used x220 or t420 for €/$ off craigslist/ebay and/or beef with with extra ram and/or SSD.

My x220 was € 150 + 250GB SSD and 2x8Gb ram extra, works perfect.

I think so. I really like this one, it does everything I need and has never given me any issues. It was a great find for $100 bucks too.

Why is this editor so goddamn comfy?

For most languages I use a normal text editor, as most IDE's suck balls, but whenever I have to write C++ I always end up drifting back to Visual Studio. Mostly because debugging is a dream, and IntelliSense works incredibly well compared to its contemporaries.

Anybody else use Visual C++ or Visual Studio in general?

OP's question to you: I want to build a NAS with $1500, any NAS build guides? Just for plex with only a couple clients transcoding.

kinda depends on how much space and redundancy you're after, no?

I put mine into one of those cheap Rosewill 15-bay 4u cases they sell on Newegg. I had the space, so why not.

I guess 3-4tb at least with 1x mirrored,so 6-8tb min total storage. I found some deals on some old tower servers with 2x quad core xeons at various speeds and with 32-74gb of ram so I was considering buying one of those and filling it with drives.
>>
32 2tb Hitachis off ebay for $1000
2-4 raid cards for $180
Random server at most $100
16gb memory upgrade $30-50
Various power adapters/Sata cables $150
Whatevers left on fans and zip ties.

Order stuff.
Perform search queries like you can with Siri or Google now.
Play music from subscribed servies.
Tie into home automation devices.
Set reminders.
Fart.

>What if I'm called Alexa?
You can change the wake word to "Echo" or "Amazon."

>What if someones going down the street screaming alexa buy me stuff randomly?
If it's intelligible, it'll trigger. Just as well, they could be walking around shouting "XBOX, OFF."
>>
Amazon echo is a meme
I'd rather just use a phone app
>>
Today on CNBC Brian Sullivan was talking about this story where people's Alexis' were being triggered by the TV. So he started saying "Alexa play thunder road". "Alexa why is Brian so handsome?" and other stuff. Loud and clear.

I kek'd.

I'm new to this brave new world of rnn,yet not brightest person in programming and have no idea where to start to get this stuff working.
I read some things but overall progression is very slow and I think I'm going into wrong direction.
Most time I just work all day and night and don't have much free time and even when I do it is kinda hard to learn new (or long forgotten) stuff.

TL;DR
Can you recommend how to start these rnns working? As I mentioned early I have very vague idea where to put code or how even it is supposed to run.
Or at least where to look

1366x768px
2.2 GHz Intel Core i5
8GB DDR3L SDRAM
1600 MHz Memory Speed
1TB SATA HDD
Mobile Intel HD graphics 5500 coprocessor

How do I delete myself from the internet and become a ghost were no one can find me when I go back online. I don't want anyone finding me, no feds, no hackers, anyone.

I downloaded the tor browser, I changed my passwords and made them even harder to crack, I made a new email address to replace the others I have (I might have to get multiple email addresses), I got rid of that bloated trash you call google chrome and replace it with something else, and I'm deleting other apps like skype and replacing them with alternatives.

I'm thinking about changing my name, my info, my payment methods, and I'm thinking about getting a VPN even I heard they're not really good to use. Any thing I should do?

>were no one can find me when I go back online
You can make the opposite - be online all the time, so no one could find you when you go out offline
>>
You can't OP, once its out there, its out there.

You can remove the obvious shit, like facebook accounts, but otherwise you're better served by either changing your name and NEVER posting your new one online or cutting off all internet access. Neither of those would stop state actors though, that is a lost fight before you even were old enough to know it was a fight.

why do people buy gaming laptops?

sorry. but the only reason i can really think of is because they'e manchilds

Maybe they want near-desktop power away from home for projects?
>>
I agree that they're dumb - a used t450/t460 or just building a PC is a much better choice
I also agree that being so addicted to gaming you absolutely must have it on the go is childish

but it isn't difficult to understand their purpose - gaming on the go
>>
The reason to buy any laptop is because you're mentally retarded.

Images like pic related have me wondering. Because I do remember an age of original content and discovery on the internet before the major information aggregators took over.

What are some good search engine alternatives to google I can use to find varied content again? Im so sick of seeing the same shit every time I search for something. With a thousand clickbait sites parroting the same information.

Are there any engines that don't use similar algorithms to find only the most popular content? Any information I look for is usually met with "deep web" fear mongering and how scary the rest of the internet is.

There's duckduckgo, startpage, and yandex. Personal preference for duckduckgo.
>>
>>58198911
but do any of those use unique algorithims? or do they just parrot google for content. Duckduckgo as I understand is for privacy, I'm more concerned about content.

I thought these guys were supposed to be the pinnacle of developers? Why the fuck is there a busy wait in the bootloader?

It has no drivers, or software. A true BSD shit would insist that this is not BSD's problem because it is due to drivers that don't exist. They would tell you to go buy some 15 year old laptop that they own that they made BSD for.
>>
>>58198509
The driver support is fine for my old shit, the software is fine since almost everything written for Linux will compile on it with minor modifications. The problem is stupid shit like a fucking busy wait in the bootloader.
