Any other MSIfags here?

I buy their shit because I think their shit tends to be the cheapest, while not being shit quality.

why is zsh better than bash in every way?

zsh isn't available on all distros by default, therefore zsh is not needed

if you actually think 5ms is the cut off point you're retarded, back in 2008 anything under 10ms was considered fine for gaming, today you're telling me 5ms? Fuck off with your memes.

What is a good dumb phone?
Things I want :
>long battery life(most importantly)
>minimalistic os
> few colors
> nicely defined buttons( something easy to use)
>hard plastic frame( something that will take an impact)
> two sim sockets are welcome but not crucial
> it is imperative to have a high end speaker
Things I don't want :
> a camera
> android
>touchscreen
>wifi
>more than 8 bits of colors (preferably a grayscale screen)
> a jack/ headphone socket
>swag
> bright colours

>lasts for days with a single battery of viagra
>as minimalistic in functionality as you want
>only three colors (no grayscale though, unless custom OS)
>can take thousands of impacts without any casing
>stick as many SIMs in there as you like
>viibrates if you tape a speaker to it

>no camera
>no android
>intuitive touch controls without touchscreen
>no audio jack (jack only makes sound if requested)
>no swag

Is Retina Display worth it?
6 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>58272585
"Retina" its just a marketing stunt
>>
>>58272585
If you have any concern about displays, get a real 10bit panel
>>
"Retina Displayis a marketing term developed by Apple to refer to devices and monitors that have a resolution and pixel density so high – roughly 300 or more pixels per inch – that a person is unable to discern the individual pixels at a normal viewing distance (10-12 inches)."

Almost all displays nowadays are "retina" displays.

>Do some updates etc
>Log out
>Attempt to log back in again
>Disk activity light has been 'thrashing' for 10 minutes (it's an SSD!)
>Ctrl-alt-f1 to a console, even that took 2 tries and about 2 minutes to log in
>Eventually I get a message that cinnamon has been killed due to running out of memory, but it's still doing it

Tell me again why I should waste my time on this bug ridden shite instead of just using Windows? I know that has bugs too, but at least you're not spending your life watching it failing at basic tasks.

has anyone here had issues with any linux ISO install that didn't have rtlwifi_new? i ask because i have a fairly new laptop and i believe it needs this, because i haven't been able to update packages through wifi on any of the live CDs for any linux distribuition. am i misinformed?

>>
>>58272461
You may have downloaded a proprietary-free version of the distro, in which case you need to get the package from the corresponding distros site/other repo
>>
>>58272516
i don't see ubuntu/debian having it though. it's in a github. do i have to build it?
>>
Just get a copy of the firmware and put it on a thumb/jump disc

All dutch companies are flawed and leaking data onto the web through an employees private NAS.

Dutch companies should buy the "Web-Crawler" technology the Dutch police build to search for pedo networks.

Also compnaies should have it impossible to transfer / move files out of the private network of the company.

I know macs get a lot of hate on /g/, but they're actually really good computers. The only bad thing about them is that a lot of the software used on macOS and iOS is closed source, but the kernel is open source, which is really cool. Not only that, but macOS is a UNIX-based operating system, so it's much more secure than Windows. Sure, macs occasionally get malware, but nowhere near as much as Windows PCs do.

The only reason people on /g/ hate macs is because they're hipsters and they think they're tech geniuses because they know a couple shell commands and how to install obscure linux distros.
