Any other MSIfags here?
I buy their shit because I think their shit tends to be the cheapest, while not being shit quality.
>inb4 shill
>>58273045
Their GPUs seem decent but I like when mobos have a socketed bios chip tbqf
>>58273045
I got one of there motherboards and have regretted it ever since. Nothing but problems.
>>58273170
I got a MSI motherboard, not a single issue.
why is zsh better than bash in every way?
>>58273035
zsh isn't available on all distros by default, therefore zsh is not needed
>I can cd and ls. I need to move to a "cooler" shell now.
>>58273055
neither is bash.
Let's see 'em /g/
bonus points if your picture has no motion blur or stupid amounts of noise
station not mine, just a classy one i saved.
>>58272977
But that monitor is over 5ms, it has visible motion blur.
>>58273108
>5ms
if you actually think 5ms is the cut off point you're retarded, back in 2008 anything under 10ms was considered fine for gaming, today you're telling me 5ms? Fuck off with your memes.
What Linux is this, /g/?
>>58272795
probably a custom linux distro like LFS
>>58272795
What is your New Year's screen resolution?
Currently at 3240x1920 Looking to bump up to 4320x1920 but I need a bracket for my monitors :(
>>58272785
1920x1080 27"
looking forward to get 2560x1440 32"
1366x768.
What is a good dumb phone?
Things I want :
>long battery life(most importantly)
>minimalistic os
> few colors
> nicely defined buttons( something easy to use)
>hard plastic frame( something that will take an impact)
> two sim sockets are welcome but not crucial
> it is imperative to have a high end speaker
Things I don't want :
> a camera
> android
>touchscreen
>wifi
>more than 8 bits of colors (preferably a grayscale screen)
> a jack/ headphone socket
>swag
> bright colours
Pic related is not produced anymore
>>58272739
you can take my penis.
>lasts for days with a single battery of viagra
>as minimalistic in functionality as you want
>only three colors (no grayscale though, unless custom OS)
>can take thousands of impacts without any casing
>stick as many SIMs in there as you like
>viibrates if you tape a speaker to it
>no camera
>no android
>intuitive touch controls without touchscreen
>no audio jack (jack only makes sound if requested)
>no swag
>>58273210
>can take thousands of impacts without any casing
you sure about that honey ?
Using this shit for everyday calls.
What's your poison? Vim? Emacs? Sublime Text? Stone tablets?
>>58272624

>>58272624
notepad++ and gedit
>>58272624
why vim of course
Is Retina Display worth it?
>>58272585
"Retina" its just a marketing stunt
>>58272585
If you have any concern about displays, get a real 10bit panel
"Retina Displayis a marketing term developed by Apple to refer to devices and monitors that have a resolution and pixel density so high – roughly 300 or more pixels per inch – that a person is unable to discern the individual pixels at a normal viewing distance (10-12 inches)."
Almost all displays nowadays are "retina" displays.
>install Mint Linux
>Do some updates etc
>Log out
>Attempt to log back in again
>Disk activity light has been 'thrashing' for 10 minutes (it's an SSD!)
>Ctrl-alt-f1 to a console, even that took 2 tries and about 2 minutes to log in
>Eventually I get a message that cinnamon has been killed due to running out of memory, but it's still doing it
Tell me again why I should waste my time on this bug ridden shite instead of just using Windows? I know that has bugs too, but at least you're not spending your life watching it failing at basic tasks.
>>58272579
you typically need more than a gigaroo of ram to run bloat like cinnamon
>>58272591
I have 8GB!
Worked after a reboot.
Still, "it's this kind of shit..." etc

>>58273556
If anything please do not make it touch screen.
has anyone here had issues with any linux ISO install that didn't have rtlwifi_new? i ask because i have a fairly new laptop and i believe it needs this, because i haven't been able to update packages through wifi on any of the live CDs for any linux distribuition. am i misinformed?
>>58272461
You may have downloaded a proprietary-free version of the distro, in which case you need to get the package from the corresponding distros site/other repo
>>58272516
i don't see ubuntu/debian having it though. it's in a github. do i have to build it?
Just get a copy of the firmware and put it on a thumb/jump disc

All dutch companies are flawed and leaking data onto the web through an employees private NAS.
Dutch companies should buy the "Web-Crawler" technology the Dutch police build to search for pedo networks.
Also compnaies should have it impossible to transfer / move files out of the private network of the company.
I was just thinking.
What if, what if companies are on purpose leaking fake data and info to misslead the competition.
>>58272366
>Wait, people live here?
Rude
>>58272366
Stereotypes of the Netherlands:
>drugs
>whores
>wood shoes
I can finally buy Dildos without having to worry about the packaging showing up on my doorstep in a obvious state!
>>58272359
>not buying dildo's in your local sex shop
what are you, ashamed?
nothing new, available in Poland since 2011
yeah nothing new
I know macs get a lot of hate on /g/, but they're actually really good computers. The only bad thing about them is that a lot of the software used on macOS and iOS is closed source, but the kernel is open source, which is really cool. Not only that, but macOS is a UNIX-based operating system, so it's much more secure than Windows. Sure, macs occasionally get malware, but nowhere near as much as Windows PCs do.
The only reason people on /g/ hate macs is because they're hipsters and they think they're tech geniuses because they know a couple shell commands and how to install obscure linux distros.
>>58272335
>p-p-please like me
>>58272335
Obvious bait is obvious.
Winter break feels a lot like summer right now.
>>58272335
hating macs is just a /g/ poorfag meme, tons of people here own them
They're generally overpriced and they don't do everything right but they're okay machines.
