How did you show him that thinkpads have better value and which one did you recommend him?
>build a mac for friend using iATKOS
>have become his apple jenoos now
>make him pay fucktons of money to fix
>bought a 1080 with money I got helping this dude

Server-side software is proprietary, the abuse reporting system is totally inefficient, most of the community in those "supergroups" is shit (literally no one cares about respecting Telegram's standards about bots, stickers and so on), I don't get why it's still claimed to be "superior" to anything. There's Signal, and if you don't care about free software there's WhatsApp, and if you don't even care about your privacy there are tons of better alternatives.
Now please, /g/, explain me.
Retards think a simple alias gives them an edge. (It doesn't)
They would be using Signal except they are paranoid retards.
leaving whatsapp is putting your tail between your legs

I like using them and I like seeing other people use mine
Whats the best budget Mobo I can buy for like $40-$60 that will let me use an i5 or i7 for gaming w/ DDR4 RAM?
Does a strictly gaming PC even need a mobo with more than an LGA 1151 set?
Looking at some smaller/cheaper motherboards and are there ever instances where the PCI-E port is too close to the RAM slots to certain cards won't fit right?
>>58269008
There are special Gaming motherboards dedicated for gaming purposes. Do your research.
Will the year of our lord two-thousand and seventeen and of the independence of the United States of America two-hundred and forty-one be the year of the (gnu plus) linux desktop?
Personally i think it will
As a Debian user i say... no way in hell.
Fags live Windows, case closed.
>>58268873
I REPEAT. Linux will never take a large portion of the consumer market because
A.) Too many options of Linux distros and DE
B.) There's the misconception among normies that Free=cheap/not as good as something you paid for
C.) Normies have no reason to switch from Mac/Windowz.
So Linux +whatever the fuck will always be limited to a niche market.
The Xiaomi Mix is apperantly mess : I fucking knew it

I really fucking love the idea.
Just make it a 4,7-5" screen, and have some minimal bezels optimized for grip
I'd buy it
>>58268888
the problem isnnt the size , the chinks made a shitty audio speaker gimmick and its too slippery also its not optimized for america
>>58268893
I don't really care about optimization for america
the rest I can mostly agree with
Happy new year!

A bit technological challenged ... I've canceled my internet contract.
Can I use the router just like an WiFi adapter? I have it connected to my laptop via USB. What do I search for, what terms ? Thanks
>>58268838
please clarify your question
>>58268838
Yes
>>58268838
You will still be able to use the router to create a wireless network. This network will not be connected to the internet
Hey /g/uys I need some help putting back a dvd drive and hard drive on an older PC when I plug the IDE cables into their respected slots the computer only recognizes one of the two! I have moved the cables around and I can never seem to get both of them working at the same time! any help?
>>58268832
Jumpers.
You dumb fuck.
>>58268832
Install Gentoo

What's the point of jumpers?
They weren't there when I had the computer working originally
TLDR: Still a dumb fuck
Why do people think Zen cores won't have similar IPC to broadwell? They're quite close in hardware resources.
>>58268827
Can you prove that claim? Because AMD has historicaly had much weaker cores than Intel
>>58268868
>Can you prove that claim?
???
>>58268868
>Because AMD has recently had much weaker cores than Intel
ftfy.
Right now with numbers we're seeing from sites that have early engineering samples that aren't under NDA all put it trading blows with current gen Intel processors. CanardPC being probably the best source at the moment, their numbers on Athlon were good, and they had a sample 8 months prior to release then.
We can all speculate as much as we like, while the truth of the matter being that we'll know anytime within the next 3 months how Zen really holds up.
Hey /g i'm back at it again, yesterday i posted about my hdd, a mypassport ultra from WD which i couldn't get to work anymore. Being desperate about losing all my files i tried a lot of stuff to get it back to work. I found out via CHKDSK that it was formatted in NTFS and after a "chkdsk /f /r" i managed to make it visible in the explorer.
At that point my folders were in it, but they were empty. The drive capacity bar (the blue one) was as full as it was before it broke though.
After this i tried briefly to retrieve my files with Testdisk, because Recuva gave me an error but as i started the process my lights went off so i'm back at it again now and i'm actually waint for a new "chkdsk /f /r". Also i tried to use ntfsfix with a gparted live cd but like windows it gets stuck when i plug in the drive.
Help me retrieve my p0rn please?
Op here, this is what i see from cmd
Bump, i have no idea what to do
Have you tried installing gentoo?

>have 780Ti

>switch to Intel HD Graphics
>zero issues, everything is fine
Tell me /g/, why haven't you switched to Intel Iris? It is currently the best solution on the market and it's given with your CPU!
>>58268672
because i:
- want to play actual games
- want to use GPU acceleration in media software
- want to record video without frame drops
Intel doesn't do any of the three, that must be why it doesn't crash. Because it doesn't do anything
>>58268672
>Fury CF
Why...
>>58268712
There was a good deal. Sold one fury to my friend and kept the other one alone.
>>58268698
>Play actual games
New Intel Iris solutions are R7 260 level of performance (GT4). While it's not the best, it's not as bad as it was recently, and it should get better on the next iterations.
>want to use GPU acceleration
Newer releases of HD Graphics decode a lot of shit. KabyLake for example will decode VP9.
>record video
Can't speak about that, I don't do that at all.
name a card more powerful for $220
>you can't
>>58268664
It's a great card. Sad that there are only four gigabytes of vram though.
Here the 1070 costs ~500€, so a tad less performance and a great price cut makes it an extremely great deal.
However, AMD seems to be pulling some shady shit recently. Disabling Async on GCN 1.x cards while they still sold them 6 months ago, and not giving the Furies those new VR techs is just stupid as fuck from them. They haven't got a big enough market share to pull Jewish tricks.
>>58268664
my 250$ amazon gift card is more powerful than your shit tier card.
