/g/ judge me first ever build
My specs are:
amd elite quad-core a8-6500
8GB DDR3
1TB HD
Win 8
Reasons to use Linux:

OpenSource
Free
Doesn't spy on you
Doesn't read your email
no telemetry
Customizable
Better for programming
i3wm
vim
etc..
Not really a valid reason. When it comes time to bury the hatchet linux shits all over itself before deleting itself.
Try running enterprise-grade software like adobe illustrator on it without any problems.
>protip: you can't
>>58267778
So how can I run adobe illustrator on this "loonix" with 0 problems?
2017 will be the year of GNU/Linux on the desktop

Does any program exist that can autofill conjunctions for you?
For example "to be" in français can be:
>etre
>sont
>sois
>est
>sommes
>sera
It'd be nice to be able to type something like nous et[TAB] and get -> nous sommes
Yes. It's called autocorrect.
>>58267616
There's probably an emacs command for it
>>58267616
macOS can do it with text substitutions.
>mfw I have GPL auto substitute the RMS Shitpost

Thanks, like the chapter ring on yours. I also have a longines ultronic on the way as my first 2017 watch.
>IKnowWhatYouDownload.com immediately shows [a] bittorent download history for your IP address when you land on it. What's more, it also [claims to] show the torrenting history of any specific IP address you enter, and also of IP addresses similar to yours, so you can see what others near you -- perhaps the nice neighbours in the house next door -- have downloaded when they thought nobody was looking...
>There is also a nasty little "Track Downloads" feature that lets you send a "trick URL" to somebody else. When they click on the URL -- thinking its something cool on Facebook, Twitter or the general internet -- THEY see what they URL promised, but YOU get sent their entire torrenting history, including anything embarrassing or otherwise compromising content they may have downloaded in private... The website appears to offer an API, customized download reports and more to interested parties in the hopes of generating big cash from making other people's torrenting activities public.
Show us those histories /g/, and remember: nothing to hide, nothing to fear.
nice try

Figures. I remember reading somewhere that you retards take everything literally.

So my girlfriend and I live 2 hours away. We do watch a lot of videos on various streaming sites together. We sync up and then for some reason after a few minutes I'm several seconds ahead of her. Her video never buffers so that's not the problem.
I've tested the result on 4 of my computers and 5 of her own and it's consistent among all of them.
Any ideas?

your sound card clocks (what the video is actually syncing to) don't exactly match. They never do. That's why you can't make, eg, a 100 channel sound card out of fifty small ones... unless they're all using the same clock. They drift out of sync.
>>58267329
Tell me there is more.
Why are Nvidia ARM processors so fast compared to competing chips?
>>58267322
As I understand it, their Denver processors are like Transmeta Crusoe which translate ARM code into native Denver architecture. They also provide OpenGL Cuda and Vulcan Linux drivers.
>>58267393
i also can use large words too as well
>>58267393
So basically they just add more hardware in their design to make certain things run faster, with microcode that translates the machine code to utilize this hardware?

Hey, /g/ I need some help on figuring out why my new build won't display anything on my monitor. It works perfectly fine on my old build but I'm getting frustrated and I can't figure out the issue.
The one thing I realized is that this motherboard doesn't have on-board graphics but it should still work fine once I connect the GPU. Either way here is the build info:
>AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
>Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming ATX AM3+ Motherboard
>Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
>Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
>Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 8GB Video Card
>Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case
>Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Thanks for your time and Happy New Years!
I bet you have the video cable still plugged into the motherboard video out instead on the grafixbcard.
>>58267244
This motherboard doesn't have a display port, which is odd to me but it was recommended to me by a friend since it works well with the FX series.
