What's the best laptop for programming?
All I want is a 1080p screen, good linux support, and a good keyboard. I don't want to pay $$ for a quad-core CPU, 16GB RAM and a high performance discrete card
>>58268640
>8
if you're actually programming, you won't need more than 8GB - let alone 16. That's for graphics rendering and other route math - shit that if you were actually "just programming" would be done on the metal on the real machine.
I guess you could argue about compile times or whatever but desu just pay for good equipment. search macbook on emay or CL until you get to a price that works for you. Ubuntu works out of the box minus suspend, but mac is mostly unix anyway and the really good programming tools are written for OSX or whatever they're calling it these days.
my opinion is to just search "macbook" on CL or amazon or ebay and sort until you find a price you're comfy with

I like bezels like that, Makes it so the lid doesn't feel flimsy.
drink to the bezels we loved
I went to the store and every single laptop was stupidly flimsy with no keyboard depth.
The ones with touchscreen displays were also topheavy and some felt even heavier the bottom part of the machine, making it feel unbalanced.
Do people actually enjoy this shit?
What's a better program to show your specs besides speccy? I guess speccy thread.

Are there any decent Macbook Air alternatives that don't use a fucking touchscreen?
I'm not interested in this retarded gimmick, and I can't understand why it's so difficult to find a decent ultrabook that doesn't include this crap.
Does anyone else know this feel?
Quit being an autistic and don't use the touchscreen.

Installed Sebek on a full interaction physical honeypot last week. Haven't been home to check on it and I'm reluctant about remoting in and spooking any Russians snooping around.

I'm getting a new phone soon, and can't decide between an iPhone 7 Plus, or a Google Pixel.
My current phone is an iPhone 6. I listen to a lot of music, and I'm really into photography (although most of the time I've got my camera with me when I need to take pictures).
Can you get Apple Music on the Google Pixel? If so then that's probably a deal breaker for me.
What do you recommend?
>>58268248
Yes you can get Apple music on Android
>>58268248
I recommend you kill yourself, faggot.
If you are really into music then you should try listening to lossless.

Pic related , from experience how many will actually work ? They dont look so bad but its whats inside that matters.
perhaps is there any better way to get working condition hardware of this era ?
Depends on the seller. I count on 50% of them working, but I probably average 90% success rate.
>>58267996
The floppy drives are probably okay. The optical drives are most likely toast.
>>58268029
I would assime 50% too.. I wonder how many he actually tested as not working yet put in to maximize profits by selling them as a non tested lot.
Its so cheap I dont really care anyway , as long as I get some of the tape drives working.
>>58268044
thats fine , im mostly after the tape and floppy drives. Sadly looks like its mostly optical drives , I see 3 tape and
Why the fuck have so many people been shilling macOS recently?

It's fun. I built my PC round 3 months ago and I'm already looking at parts. Like I haven't got a mortgage to pay for or anything

I don't give a fuck either. That FAFSA aid bout to prop a nigga up and I'm finna do it all over again
