You could also cut one of the RFID's wire.

If your using Windows then install gentoo
But more than likely it can't receive the DHCP from the router so it never gets assigned an IP
Try disabling DHCP and putting in a manual IP

If you find yourself needing an operating system that respects your privacy, you cannot go wrong with Tails. The live Linux-distro can be run from a DVD which is read-only, meaning there is less of a chance of files being left behind. Heck, Edward Snowden famously used it to protect himself when shining a light on the overreaching US government.
Unfortunately for some users, Tails will soon not work on their computers. The upcoming version 3.0 of the operating system is dropping 32-bit processor support. While a decline in compatibility is normally a bad thing, in this case, it is good. You see, because there are so few 32-bit Tails users, the team was wasting resources by supporting them. Not to mention, 64-bit processors are more secure too.
"It's no surprise that over the last years, the number of people who use Tails on a 32-bit computer has dropped: most 32-bit computers are at least ten years old, and one after the other their hardware stops working. As a result, in the beginning of 2016, only 4-percent of Tails users were still using a 32-bit computer. Of course, some of these computers will keep working for a while. But once the number had fallen this low, the benefits of switching Tails to 64-bit outweighed the reasons we had to keep supporting 32-bit computers," says the Tails team.
If you aren't sure if your computer is 64-bit compatible, the Tails team shares a helpful tip for finding out. While running the operating system, open up a terminal window and type "uname -m" without quotes. If "x86_64" is displayed, congratulations -- your computer will be compatible with Tails 3.0. If you see something else, you are out of luck.
I honestly don't understand how people are still on 32 bit systems. Literally why would you do that to yourself?
>>58787638
for the same reason people use tails in the first place.

I'm trying to migrate to Linux completely but running into random usability issues.
I'm starting with Ubuntu LTS. I actually installed Arch, Xubuntu, Debian, and Ubuntu in VMs to see which I liked more, but decided on Ubuntu just because it seems like the most supported distro.
I'm using a late 2013 Macbook Pro. Having issues where my external display randomly turns off and back on every couple of minutes.
Also is there no shortcut to make a window centered ? Not maximized.. just centered at the current size ?
I tried mapping ctrl to cmd via xmodmap. It works fine, but I have to run it every time I start up. Tried upstart, startup commands, xinitrc.. Nothing works.

Sorry for activating your almonds, bro. Unity. It does have something called "Start-up Applications". Not sure if this is the same thing as the autostart settings you're referring to.

I'd suggest just going back to arch, that way you know exactly what is running on your computer and what is/isn't working properly and what features to expect from any installed software.
so i just brought a new mechanical keyboard that was supposed to have multicolored back-lights, but i seem to only get white for some reason.
i checked the logitech support site but its 100% unhelpful for my problem.

Thermal paste is a meme.
I never use thermal paste because it can actually damage the motherboard if it seeps over the cpu.
There is literally no point in using it if you have proper cooling in your case - other than taking a risk and letting it damage your motherboard.
Im pretty reputable as I own my own local computer shop and have been building machines for the community for years.
My question is, why the hell do people use it?
>>58787497
I'm guessing you learned how to apply paste from MSI.
Thermal paste works and is easy to use. Works for me.

I need help finding an HDTV for absolutely no more than $600, preferably under $500.
I need 4 things from this TV:
1- 60hz refresh rate since I'm only going to be playing in a PS4 which can't push past 60fps anyway.
2- 1080 is the minimum requirement resolution. So far so good.
3-I want a 50' screen. Anything lower than 40' is too small, but if the price is right something 40' or above is fine.
4- (this is the hard part) I need a TV that has an input lag that is 25ms or lower.
I can't find anything still in circulation. Any articles I find online point me to the highest end, newest technology out of my price range. I've looked online on my own for 2 weeks and have found nothing that matches my needs. I figured you guys would know better than I.
If possible, name a model that is still on amazon or currently in department stores that accept monthly payments.

literally the best tv ive ever owned
I actually have a question as well (not OP)
I was looking at the Vizios P and M series. My parents want a new tv and they are coming from a 768p Olivia. I was thinking between these two just to get them up to date and them not having to upgrade for a while.
If they don't really care for HDR which would be the better tv, please thank you.
Sony w630. You can only find them at Best Buy in 60", $599 usually. Look at the rtings review.
The FCC isn't going to go after Verizon or AT&T for zero-rating their own video services for their mobile data plans. Cell phone companies can now have different services count for different amounts of data use.
https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/02/fcc-rescinds-claim-that-att-and-verizon-violated-net-neutrality/
At this rate, how much longer until they kill net neutrality completely?
Does no one here give a shit about defending net neutrality anymore? All the fucking newfags here who weren't around when Verizon blocked access to 4chan in 2010 and only changed their mind because anonymous was still active. Now the internet population has grown significantly and a site today with a community the size of 4chan back then would have a very hard time fighting back.
