My pops birthday is coming up and I want to give him something nice for once. He is into technology but complains about new games not running. I checked his PC and he has
>Phenom X4 955
>650Ti
Would it make sense to gift him a 1050 Ti? Or is the CPU the major bottleneck? I can't spend too much. If not a GPU I will probably get him a mechanical keyboard.
get a high model 700 series if you can find or a mid tier 900 series.
It sounds like ALL the hardware is due for an upgrade
>>58796800
That's what I figured. I bought a used PC with an i7 and 980 last year but I was unemployed for several months. I wish I could buy him a real battlestation. Are there any AMD models you can recommend? I think they're cheaper.
>>58796769
Acer desktops are contantly on sale for 400, with an i5 and 8 gigs ram. Get one of those and he can swing buy until he can get a 1050ti for it
What's the best mobile browser and why isn't it Opera Mini?
>>58796501
>and why isn't it Opera Mini?
Because it uses Operas proxy server software - written in based Pike - to compress your sites.
>>58796544
I've been using Opera Mini since I switched to Opera on my PC a few days ago. It's okay, definitely has a few noticeable bugs. I'm wondering what others think of mobile browsers.

macOS doesn't have that problem
>>58796122
Linux doesn't either. It's really just Windows devs that are on crack.
>>58796223
yeah but then you'd have to use freetard garbage, you're better off running macOS
Can you crack this? It decrypts plain text word/words, no one-way hashes used.

Will Microsoft /v/indows still be around in 10 years?
>>58795782
Of course. Do you really think that the entire population of neurotypical human beings can migrate to a completely different operating system architecture in just 10 years, now that technology has stagnated?
Sure, it will be pretty different to what is now though
Yes. Gahnoo plus Loonix on the other hand might not.
17 different CPUs
are you hyped yet?
Hopefully they dont fuck their prices

It seems like they going with the i3=r3 structure. Hopefully this will make intel to finally incrase the cores on their next lineup

If they manage to give me a ~$100 4c/4t that actually brings Kaby Lake i5 performance, AMD wins

logitech t650, auxiliary trackpad, apologies for shit photo
No, however when I use hackintosh (right now I don't) I have a magic trackpad with me and it's honestly pretty comfortable to use. Gestures are very important though and if it doesn't support a plethora of them it's going to be a waste of time.
In this ITT thread: post successful female tech CEOs.
I'll start.
Carly Fiorina
It's easy to be a successful female tech CEO when your company is fueled by men.
It's easier to organize and manage a male workforce than it is a female neurotic one.
Can we have a thread about these? I'm sure 99% of /g/ has no desire to own something like this because its not muh Linux Gentoo Thinkpad memeshit, but they have their uses.
I just got a surface pro 3 because I need a really portable PC that isn't very powerful. I can't figure out for the life of me why the pro 4 is double the price when the only things that are better are pretty insignificant.
>I'm sure 99% of /g/ has no desire to own something like this because its not muh Linux Gentoo Thinkpad memeshit
But, we do have Thinkpad tablet PCs.
>>58795415
Looks like something I'd see on a construction site. How thick are those in tablet mode?
>>58795430
They're definitely pretty thick. But they're quite good. The X220 and X230 tablet models are quite fast for most applications. The X61 and X200 are also still usable for basic computing. My X200 tablet PC was a lifesaver in university.

Use a templating language
wordpress

HTML has been outdated since 1997. You're gonna need an in-depth knowledge of C++, Ajax, Python, Ruby on Rails, DHX, KMS, and Google to program a modern website.
