I wish you and your hideous memeboard a swift death.
hey babes
Show off your raspi/odroid projects.
I need new ideas.
popular examples:
website
email server
emulator, gameboy ish
tor server
controller for projects like an arduino
I made an internet of things dust collector.
No seriously, I retired my raspi for a superior Orange Pi PC2
>>58777128
I've heared about home automation projects.
how well would a raspi fare in like simpler tasks.
>a phone controlled electrical/light switch
so before you arrive home, you turn on the lights on.
>be me, tech illiterate 10 year old
>get desktop for christmas
>have no idea the fuck i'm doing
>finally get dsl
>itbegins.gif
>download those fucking smileys and custom pointers
>download music and porn from limewire
>finally my computer had enough of my shit
>get ransomware by a fucking fake antivirus
>freak the fuck out
>can't use the internet
>can't do shit
>download antivirus to combat it
>option is to either store infected files in a "chest" or delete them
>pick delete
>turns out the infection reached to the system 32 folder
>computer stuck on bootloop
In the end, i just did a fresh restart since i found the activation cd.
>>be me
who else would you be, idiot?
>be 9
>dad works in advertising
>use his computer and see pic related
>think it's a really cool font
>transfer it from his computer to mine with a zip disk
>installation successful but the font doesn't show up in font list
>try to debug the issue by deleting every font except for mojo
>reboot
>system font is now mojo
>it doesn't look that good in non-antialiased 12px
>no idea how to go back
>too ashamed to tell my dad

>Young Bader Canahuati loves technology and informatics
>San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
>Bader Semir Canahuati is an exemplar boy, at only 14 years of age has created a computer
>The boy, who attends 8th grade at billingual private school, MountView Academy, prepared for eight long months to create a central processing unit (CPU) with a very modern touch.
>Bader explained in his interview for 'Chicos' how he came up with the idea to create this ingenious invention
>“I've always loved informatics and technology, I'm always looking out for every update and advance. I also watch many shows about computation. I remember one time I was watching something about computer's processors and then, little by little I bought each piece to assemble it my way", he confessed.
>Bader took apart his CPU to show us the pieces he used.
>According to Bader, the Hard Disk Drive in his computer is equiped with 1000 gigabytes of storage which is very fast.
>“I would like to continue making more computers and have my own computer selling business in the future”, explains the young man, who is also a great fan of music and dance. His passion for technology hasn't affected his grades. Bader is an exemplar student and enjoys Computation, Spanish and Natural Sciences

can you blame them?
Shitty education systems are not the fault of the people, but of the government.

Time to start playing your kino with open source media center software.

Will I not get malware or something streaming sites with Kodi? Whenever I used to use putlocker for example I would always get a virus
>>58759600
Are you fucking stupid? Kodi isn't a web browser. It just extracts the video from a link it found with an addon and plays it.
>>58759468
>What are you waiting for, /g/?
for it to stop playing the wrong movies
I'm trying to build Shrine, and I end up getting the same error as another anon in the last thread. Any ideas?

How to create a gmail account without a fucking phone? They are blacklisting free sms reception numbers very quickly.
>>58798306
I used a public phone once
The fuck? Since when do you need a phone number to make a gmail account
Also as a side note, what's wrong with using other email providers?
>>58798353
I need it for youtube.
There's nothing wrong with your computer.
>>58798126
Get a ssd plus overclock mobo
are you idling at 60c anon? christfuck theres a start
Silly question: why dont they make CPUs as a long rectangle instead of a square?
Would that not be more efficient for cooling?
>>58798007
higher latency.
>>58798007
The further away the 0s and 1s are away from each other, the slower it goes senpai

A die is like 100-200mm^2
>been focusing on maths, relearned up to Calc 3 because I forgot everything
>haven't written a line of code in over a year
What do I do? I don't even know where to start.
Just remember that you won't get paid a dime for anything you do, thanks to freedom.

Try working on a beginner-friendly FOSS project to re-familiarize yourself with writing code:

>>58797893
Install Gentoo and kill yourself
Is there any point in having a published repository of git or is a local committing to the .git directory enough for a person that works alone? I do backup all I do including .git to a cloud botnet that is synced to 2 computers so I do have redundancy there.
What's even the point of using git then, if not to either 1) publish, 2) collaborate, or 3) backup
>>58797929
There is more reasons to use version control the just that.
E.g. if you want to revert/view your code in a earlier form, in case you fuck the current code up.
>>58797929
>>58797970
Yeah, it's mainly for fuck ups. Also sometimes you just want to see what the fuck you were doing back then in ancient history of two weeks ago.
I was using it a lot when I was hacking the ioquake3 code for a mod, it was fucking brilliant.
Also it's so fucking easy to use on GUIs that it's not even funny. Console is never needed.
Desktop thread.
>he installed Arch literally to take desktop screenshots
>boots into Windows after this task is done
lmao @ OP
>>58797888
Yeah, I got windows on an ext4 partition. /s
>>58798005

Day 3: Still didn't manage to unlock bootloader on Redmi Note 3 Pro and flash LineageOS. Fucking chinks, they made everything so hard...
>>58797724
I used to like Xiaomi ("Mi", I mean) but I must agree that they made a bad choice locking their phones.
Mi4 here. I use a Xiaomi.eu rom.
>>58798286
Mi4 has lineageos support buddy
>>58797724
>he bought a fucking chinkshit
>he's frustrated
>wasted 3 days of his life on it

Why is every high-end monitor purchase a lottery to get one that doesn't have enough problems to ruin the experience?
>>58797324
Just keep sending it back until you get a good one then
Because you're falling for the IPS meme
TN is consistent, VA is consistent, IPS has half a dozen problems and fixes issues that don't exist with other panels
lcd is premature technology
Is teracopy a meme or its a good option for win7 users?
too buggy these days
>not using based nyancat copy
It's just a meme, literally just hooks into the native file copy mechanism. Pure placebo
