What is /g/ opinion on /sicp/?
i had to get on 40mg of amph to read through it and understand it at all
its bretty good but overhyped by /g/ of course
>>58780962
lisp is useless, just program in cobol
>>58780962
Meme, but scheme is good for prototyping.
thoughts on this book? I'm looking for a book to compliment my learning of Python. Any suggestions are welcome, does not have to be necessarily python specific.
Autism: The Python Course
avoid it
>>58780891
Just read it and stay off 4chan for a month. You will be impressed with the results
>>58780891
>thoughts on this book?
it's garbage, because it's written by Zed Shaw
Anyone here worked with these guys or their Mule software in the past? Any comments?
>>58780881
I did, I got stabbed.
>>58780916
What? Please do tell.
>>58780881
I have an interview with them next Friday. Amy suggestions OP?
Is anyone else hyped as fuck for AMD's Raven Ridge?
>Zen cores close to Ivy Bridge in performance
>on-die GPU comparable to Radeon 7850 / GTX 750 Ti
>Mac Mini sized LAN machines are now possible
I am so fucking ready for this
>>58780813
12 memory starved CU is probably not going to compare to the Radeon 7850.
It'll perform behind the RX 460.
>>58780838
muh hbm
>>58780838
>>58780875
also the RX 460 is significantly faster than the 7850, so you're not really saying anything here
>claim it's a rare book in PDF form
>Send to colleagues
>Mfw I know have RCE and a RAT on their system
Is hacking really this easy?
Hacking is 99% social engineering, yes
I always open shit from colleagues/coworkers in a VM
Friends are different
Unfortunately it's people like you, OP, who make me inherently untrustworthy of others even if I work with them on a daily basis.
>>58781645
OP doesn't actually exist, other than as a 12 year old pretending.
>been programming since I was 14
>learned a bunch of cool things via Google, internet forums, etc.
>made hacks for PC games, spam bots, phishing tools, viruses, keygens, etc.
>went to Uni for computer science
>everything is so API'd or "add this library" that a 9 year old could program
>first project was to make a calculator
>easiest thing to do took me 5 minutes
>but nope we need a library to make it easier
>making GUI's is kind of hard so here's another library were going to learn
>learn nothing hard or interesting
>calculators, personal finance portfolio tool, simple video game, boring project 14, make something neet for exam some retard got an A for writing an ugly web browser that didn't even had ad block or anything useful
>get bored and start slacking off, graduating with 3.2 GPA
>get job pretty quickly
>same boring API shit maintaining monitoring software for video surveillance company
>all I do is get paid $60K to "fix bugs" by inputting variables into updated methods already made for me
Well this is disappointing. I'm 23 and completely fed up with being surrounded by sub 100 IQ normies that think they are genius programmers because they know how to insert API's and libraries then fill in the blanks. How do I get a job at these companies that build API's and libraries without having years of experience?
>>58780624
>insert API's
an interface is not something that you insert; its something that you interact with
>>>/out/
>>58780624
>i was a script kiddie and now i'm mad bc all it got me was a job maintaining others' code
Shouldnt have set yourself up for failure buddy
>>58780624
>i'm so smart and gifted everyone else is STUPID the reason i got shit grades was because school was BORING and didn't challenge me enough now i'm at a shit job because everyone ELSE is an IDIOT
if Arch users want minimalism, why do they not use *BSD?
Because nothing is comparable with it
>>58780440
Nothing of value is on BSD, besides the networking stack
>>58780440
because 99% of the arch users have no idea what they are doing and are fucked without their stupid wiki.
Why don't we have a computer touch screen keyboard or mouse yet?
Seems like keyboards and mouses haven't progressed in 15 years
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
Why the fuck we need to improve perfection?
Touchscreen keyboards doesn't have sufficient feedback considering their use.
>>58780436
Do not even joke like that because you can not be sure if marketing faggots are not reading this.
Is it not enough that they killed fucking physical keyboard in smartphones?
Anon, do you hate yourself?
most of the silent mice I find are cheap off brand chink shit.
Is there a good mouse and keyboard that will provide comfy silence?
who is this semen demon
I use pic related. Hasn't failed yet, but there is an annoying ridge in the middle of it. meh

also curious about this. my roommate recently complained about the sound of my late night shitposting
>Linux does something you don't like
>"Cool, something to tinker with! I love customizing my OS."
>Windows does something you don't like
>"fucking Microsoft reeeeeeeeeeeee"
Face it lincucks, you're blinded by your faith to Richard "currency backed by toenail clippings" Stallman
There is a difference between software trying to serve me as best they can and not quite succeeding (requiring me to tinker with it), and software actively trying to sabotage me for profit (requiring me to combat it).
Personally, I find the former rather more tolerable than the latter.
>>58780364
Works on my machine
Seriously though, a vanilla copy of Windows 10 doesn't do any of the stuff that gets posted here on /g/

We call this Stockholm Syndrome, OP.

>He would never actually abuse me! I know he loves me!

already contacted GB support but i think that'll take some time
>remove a few scenes i don't like in a movie
>size increased six-fold
how the hell does that happen?
i'm using PowerDirector 15, and every output option i have drastically increases the size of the movie file when i remove most of the content.
i just want to isolate a scene and reduce the file size.
>>58780164

Hello autism
>remove a few scenes I don't like in a movie
Try to remove your mental problems instead.
WTF is the deal with this "slack" thing, /g/?
Is it just a meme and a fad?
The company I work for uses HipChat btw.
>>58780113
It's literally IRC with profile pictures.
>>58780113
>The company I work for uses HipChat btw.
It's hipchat - except the desktop client isn't complete liquid shit.
>>58780113
I wouldn't want to work for a company that doesn't use IRC.
Well, /g/?
