It's old news, but I just read that chainfire sold supersu to a chinese company.
Is the new version safe? Should I worry about future updates being safe? And why?
Considering its nonfree and it is a binary that allows your apps to setuid, it was never safe you fucking moron.

>App that is essential to the operation of your device sold to some random, unrelated chinese company
>IS IT SAFE GUYS!!>!>!>!!
why dont you take a fucking guess
>>58791666
Yes, but it was developed by chainfire. I trust him more than a chinese company.

How? It takes 5 seconds, you try the setting and it either works or doesn't.

Hello /g/
I've had my PC components housed in a HAF-X tower for a couple years now, and absolutely love it. Pic related is the side panel that has a convex piece for what I can only assume would be used in conjunction with the fan inside to increase air flow within the space it makes. I'm making this assumption because it's right up next to where you'd place the mobo heatsink and GPU.
Here's the question: is pic related absolutely useless? Should I remove the convex piece from the back of the fan to increase airflow?
Not even a freshman CS student who wants to at least guess? Fuck it, I'm taking it off.
If anything the plastic covering is just going to obstruct the flow of air. So the question is, do you want a directed airflow or not?
>>58791851
This is what I was thinking. Which is more optimal between directed and open airflow?
Is this the Linux equivalent to "Something Happened"? What to do?
That's the Ubunshit equivalent.

Why do I have to decode cryptic messages to install fucking GPU drivers?

S
o is this what you get when you forgo your privacy to the botnet?
>>58791271
I use Chrome and Firefox interchangeably. I don't notice any significant difference in speed.
Maybe it's because I don't use a PC from stone age, or because I don't have Yahoo toolbars and shit all over my Firefox.
>>58791271
why not both
>>58791271
>Switching form a browser that was used and cluttered up for years to one that was installed brand-new

What a surprise.
I need a VPN but not sure which one, I want it to be as secure as possible. Heard that NordVPN should be good, but seen some bad things about it aswell, help?

how does that web proxy for nordvpn work? seems interesting
I've always had some issue choosing a new hostname every time I either get a new machine or I reinstall the OS (or in the latest case, swap out the old HDD for an SSD and put the SSD in the optical bay.)
So hostname idea/posting thread.
I use old aliases I've gone by.

Have you ever been worried about your health (hand, wrist, shoulder, back) problems thanks to your job? I'm 18 and i think i'm starting to develop Hand Osteoarthritis cos i've spent my entire life typing in the front of a computer, now if i'll spend the rest of my life working with a keyboard i think my hands wont get past 40
>>58790954
yea nah
hard labor does more damage to your body, hand Osteoarthritis is common there
Thus, osteoarthritis which appears in elderly people is due to an accumulation of microtrauma. It is for this reason that certain people more exposed than others to various specific microtrauma develop osteoarthritis quite early.
Microtrauma more readily encountered in the workplace includes:
Mechanical vibrations and shocks transmitted by certain machine tools and objects
my hands just feel tired all the time and i jus keep cracking them (i actually dont know how to crack my knuckles i just put pressure on them a bit)

What tech would Hank Hill have, /g/? What language would he code in?

Do propane accessories count as tech?
>What language would he code in?
Hank isn't a programmer. But IIRC, he did do some /vidya/ at some point. Although, it was on a Mac.
>>58790690
he'd probably use some old school language like algol

Fortran.
For a phone I think he'd go Xiaomi chink phone or something until he realized it was Chinese.
Is there a simple yet customizable image organization software that uses tags for windows?
Hydrus is fucking garbage and unnecessarily overcomplicated.
I "imported" my windows downloads folder and it said I ran out of hard drive space but it wouldn't let me cancel the fucking import.
Garbage program.
What would also be nice is software that lets me search images by the majority color that is in the image so I can find images based on what my brain remembers the colors are.
Why has nobody developed something like this?

But why. Are you going to pass your harddrive down to your children?

I have autism.
