On the keto diet for my seventh day, already lost 10 lbs.

That is water weight, anon. Be prepared for a week or two of no weight loss or even weight gain as your body adapts. Once you're past that, the fat will start melting away.

Yah. I'm a girl so even when I was chubby, I got lots of attention from guys. The fitter I got, though, the hotter and better quality the guys who approached me got.

My girlfriends got a little cattier though. They try and make me eat more and stuff when we go out to restaurants and comment on my size A LOT. They tell me I'm too skinny (I'm not, I'm 5'6" and 123 lbs, very healthy and I could even stand to lose a few, i think). I don't mind it too much though, I know they're just jelly.

Also random people treat me way nicer than before. It's almost like having a superpower now. Guys literally seem like they're in a trance when they talk to me. Receptionists and people like that always try and make me laugh. I have waitresses and little old ladies tell me all the time how pretty I am.

I get free stuff all the time now. Like in the most random places. I've gotten room upgrades, student discounts when I'm not a student, free drinks (paid for by the waiter, not a rando). I've had guys pay me and my friend's entire bar tab before even coming up to talk to me. It's pretty cool t b h familia.

Too bad I am still the same weirdo I have always been. I actually brought up the consistency of my cat's shit (she's sick!) to the last guy who flirted with me at the bar. I sperg out if the guy I'm talking to is too attractive.

Ok /fit/. I know the basic idea to getting abs is "cut bf". That's obvious, it makes sense. What I want to know, however, is how exercise affects the abs.

Do they make you look slimmer because they're naturally doing their job better? Or do they just get bigger and exacerbate your big stomach issue until you lose the fat?

Doing ab exercises will make them pop up more, along with doing compounds. Only cutting %bf without exercise will result in skelly mode.

But it's not like the muscle automatically replaces the fat in the area, right? So wouldn't the abs getting bigger mean that the stomach is also getting bigger? Or would the abs getting stronger mean they more tightly pull your gut in with less effort, resulting in atleast net-zero belly-gain?

Yes stomach will get bigger if your fat. if your skinny, then your abs getting bigger will actually make you look leaner, as cuts will be more defined

if your losing weight whil building abs, you will look leaner

Someone help out a fatass here, I don't understand something.

So I'm 6'3 and I weigh 316 pounds. I've been maintaining a diet roughly 2200 calories daily. I do not drink any sugary drinks or processed foods.

I've been hitting the gym every day for roughly 10 days now mainly just doing cardio (In b4 Go lift bruh, that's not what I'm looking for ) @ 4 MPH with a 1 inch incline for 1 hour straight. The thing is I'm not losing any weight. My weight has stayed at 316 for the past week and a half. What the fuck is going on? Genetics at it's finest or some shit? I feel I should've at least dropped 1-3 pounds by now.

Or is this whole " Go do cardio bruh, you'll lose weight" just a fucking meme.

Before someone says Hurrrr durrr you are measuring food incorrectly hurr durrrr a tub of ice cream isn't 10 calories. I've been counting pretty god damn well imo. I'm limited to my college foods but this isn't making sense to me. I feel hungry as shit, but my weight is staying the same.

I weigh myself when I first wake up, but because of my classes that time may vary. Sometimes I will weigh myself between 8-9 AM, other times around 10-11 AM.

I do find myself drinking several 16 Oz Poland springs, I recently bought a 24 pack on Saturday and I'm down to around 8 I think? So yes I am drinking more than "Normal"

I don't assume there is a failure because there isn't much room for failure. I'm on a college food diet which basically means what dorms provide. but generally speaking my diet is just those "Subway" style sandwiches and straight up grilled chicken if they are serving it ( No gravy, nothing special. )

I do not take creatin.

I don't eat more food, I eat less compared to December when I went home for break. I did however lose around 6 pounds since I got back to dorms but my weight hasn't moved an oz since I got back.

My salt intake may be on the higher end however, there is little room for improvement since I'm at the mercy of college food. I can either eat pasta / cheeseburgers / fries / chicken tenders etc. These sandwiches generally keep me full for the whole day cause they pack em with greens.

I squat 247.5kg, bench 180kg, and deadlift 310kg, and have never been the strongest at any gym I've been a member at.

How do I stop drinking? Is it just mental weakness? I get smashed almost every night, and it's wrecking my body.

It's at the point where I'm not even making a conscious decision to do it. I woke up this morning puking, and apparently I went to a bar last night. I don't remember actually even thinking about the bar, or even going out and drinking for that matter. Please help...

Somebody told me this early on and it really helped me. I don't want to stop drinking, I want to stay sober. Hold onto your sobriety, it is a state of mind that you can lose at times but will always return to.

This is very good that you admit this, I went five years drinking and making an ass of myself. I thought as long as I was drinking, I had a handle on my drink because I still was raising the glass to my lips. I had to have handcuffs put on me to realize that I did not have control, because a sober me would never have been arrested.

All I can say to you now is that you seek out the help of AA, it took me two DWI charges to finally start my way on the steps toward piecing my life back together. There is no cure, there is no drug, there is no doctor who can treat alcoholism. Only you can treat yourself, and you will be surprised to find that the most healing part is reaching out and helping others you meet there. There are so many people holding out and hoping to find somebody who can hear their, not just listen to it, but to empathize. You are not alone.

Because if its been a long time the best approach is to cut down gradually. Theres a lot of nasty things happen if you go cold turkey and are a full blown alky.

So is there any recent trauma? Anything to make you want to do this? History of low moods?

From memory, ~4 is fasting, ~9 is post-eating and ~7 is about baseline.

You're a bit above but nothing too bad. As long as you're in the single digits you're reasonably ok. Still should probably get professionally checked though.
