Who /meaddrinker/ here?
No, it's not a "we wuz vikings and sheit" thing, though I am Nordic. I just like the taste, unlike a sweet wine it never gets sickly sweet (for obvious reasons the sweetness is more like the difference between honey and sugar in your tea)
The drier variants do very well with hearty meals as well.
Best combo is mead + black tea
Never had one I like
As far as sickly sweet wine goes, look at the acidity level
A quality wine should have enough to offset the RS
>>7242893
... like, mixed, or as accompanied drinks?
>>7242895
Indeed. I mean, the cheapest "dessert" wines aren't even truly wines, they're underfermented to get the sweetness and then alcohol is added to not make it weaker than light beer. Still, the sweetness you get with mead has a different character to it IMO.
>tfw you try to spread your margarine on the bread for grilled cheese but you end up tearing holes in it

>not melting it in the pan and frying the bread

This.
But if you're stubborn, get a good butter mill.

but wont there just be a bunch of extra margarine in the pan that gets burnt
What's you preferred potato cut shape? Round? Rectangular? Hash browns?
cubed.. big cubes
I love potatoes enough to not care how they are cut or how they are prepared.
Are these steaks safe to eat?
Today is their sellby date so apparently they shouldnt be bad but ive never had steak with such brown discoloration
The discoloration is oxidation, they are perfectly safe. If you want to feel better about it psychologically, cook them to medium instead of rare or medium rare
I would suggest cooking them before eating.
if it smells bad, don't bother
christ, this should be on a sticky
Is this a meme? Moka coffee tastes like shit.
Kale is a meme.
That's all.
it's decent but i prefer a good espresso
Why do Americans pour water into their coffee?
So what's the deal with airline food?

Space issues, cost-control issues to keep the cost of a plane ticket down, it has to be something that can be easily heated with no other significant preparation (at least for economy), your taste buds don't work the same in the air and thus your ability to taste food is muted, which leaves it feeling bland except for when they shock it with certain basic flavors.
Incidentally, tomato juice tastes better in the air than on the ground and many people who dislike it on the ground enjoy it while in flight. Get a can next time you fly.

what do you do with your meats/veggies in the fridge when they’re going to go bad soon?
stew
"Soon" implies that they are still fine.
In which case, I eat them.
Soup.

Recently launched a kickstarter for a new line of caffeinated jelly beans. I wonder if they'll have a pumpkin spice latte flavor in the future? lol

Jelly belly isn't an invention, it's a brand
And if he has jelly belly money he doesn't need crowd funding
Also nobody wants this
>>7242514
He sold the Jelly Belly brand back in the 1980s, and they pretty much forced him to sign a non-competitive agreement that ended in 2000. Since then he's been trying to develop a new product.
He's got a documentary all about it called "Candyman: The David Klein Story"
I take frozen pizza that you're supposed to bake and either put it in the microwave or on a stovetop. I don't have an oven.
Am I going to get sick?
Ask again later
>>7242443
>microwave
will taste horrible
>stovetop
might work
Everything on a pizza- albeit not the pizza itself- had to be precooked in virtually every imaginable scenario unless you had a really weird topping, so you should be fine.
That having been said, the texture probably leaves a lot to be desired.

Have any of you done homebrew beer before? How do you keep the temperature consistent? It's winter here and the heating's only on during the evening, but if I keep the bucket insulated during the day and warm in the evening would that be alright?
Right now it's sitting under my desk next to my PC as that's the only place that I know will be constantly a bit warm.

Food and beverages are a big part of creating a cosy atmosphere and giving you that nice warm feeling. How do you guys achieve 'hygge'?
When I come home after a long day I get a big cup of hot water and dissolve 1 and a half tablespoons of honey in it. Maybe put a bit of jerky, nuts or sliced fruit etc in a small dish to go with it. Then sip the hot honey water while I watch a youtube video or lurk /ck/ for half an hour before I go to bed.

you are truly the most retarded poster here
>>7242272
That's not cosy senpai.
I like to look out the kitchen window and sip a big hot cup of coffee in the mornings.
>>7242269
I like to turn the central heating up to full, gradually get naked and dunk my balls into a cup of cinnamon tea while shouting 'hygge nygge'. The sound of my balls sizzling for up to an hour afterwards really fosters a sense of relaxation and togetherness
Cutting up a dozen carrots cucumbers or apples can be a big pain in the ass. Do you use anything other than a mandolin board? I'm looking for easy to clean and durable over any fancy features.

I have a Bullet Express I was gifted. It's not bad, but it's such a kick in the nuts to clean, that I only pull it out when making food for parties.
The food processor portion of it sees a little more use. Mostly for making Hummus and Baba Ganoush
