Do you eat insects /ck/?

What do they taste like?

I used to eat ants when I was little. They didn't taste much like anything. of course I was only eating one at a time. I had heard somewhere that there were ants that tasted like honey so I started eating ants.

Me and some friends are gonna have some scotch and charcuterie this weekend.

What meats, cheeses, and extras should I get?
19 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
Fuck, can I come? I was just thinking about how much I wanted some of that.

I think the general suggestion tends to be having mild, younger cheeses with the punchier whiskies like the island ones and aged, sharp cheeses with the lighter ones like the highlands so they contrast. Also to avoid really salty stuff because it can overpower the whisky.

Some bread to clear your palate and a bottle or two of water helps. Supposedly nuts are good with peaty whiskies, maybe peanut brittle if you want to make something yourself. Dark chocolate is nice as a sort of dessert.

We're getting some Islay Scotch like Glenfiddich and Laguvulin. Think one of my bros is bringing Ardberg.

Yea I was thinking come creamy bries for cheese and some gouda since it's smoky. I might have to add some cheddar too.

Should I really avoid salty stuff though? Salami and prosciutto tends to be salty.
>>
>>7240705
I don't remember where I heard the salt recommendation, but I think it was mainly referring to things like pickles and olives in brine where you get a big whack of salt.

looks like you just dunked it into boiling water, it has no browning on the outside.

also i like my steak well-done. i've tried high quality steaks from a bunch of steakhouses, and still prefer well-done.

i'd rather have braised short ribs or something though, that's been slow-cooked with soft fat.

School is starting next week and I can't stand eating sandwiches or salads anymore.

I was thinking of bulk cooking something like chicken and just eating it in different ways throughout the week. I mostly just want something that I can make beforehand and just stuff in a bag.
I don't have access to a microwave or fridge so it would need to be cold.

Here's one that is around 1000 calories and 50+ grams of protein
4-5 medium potatoes, cut up and roasted
Can of black, pinto, or refried beans. Your choice
A little salsa
Handful of spinach
One cut up bell pepper
Mix it all in a bowl and wa la. It's pretty tasty and cheap. I'll put avocado instead of the pepper in there a lot. I like this recipe for school since I don't have to worry about any meat maybe spoiling before I get to eat

. A 1997 study found that canned fruits and vegetables are as rich with dietary fiber and vitamins as the same corresponding fresh or frozen foods, and in some cases the canned products are richer than their fresh or frozen counterparts.[10] The heating process during canning appears to make dietary fiber more soluble, and therefore more readily fermented in the colon into gases and physiologically active byproducts. Canned tomatoes have a higher available lycopene content. Consequently, canned meat and vegetables are often among the list of food items that are stocked during emergencies.

Do you eat you canned food, /ck/?

i used canned green beans to make fritters, and sometimes canned chickpeas to make with pasta and tomato sauce for a quick dinner.

i don't think canned food is inherently worse for you, but most people drain the liquid they come in and that removes some of the nutrition.

some canned food also has a lot of salt in it too.

I recently bough these. They taste absolutely delicious, but they smell like ass. I mean, they LITERALLY smell like a freshly cleaned out ass. They both have this unique sweet-musky smell. What the fuck.
I can't stop eating them because they taste so good, but all I can think of while eating is ass.

maybe somebody shat upon them before you bought them.

No, you don't understand. They don't smell like shit but like ass. Think of an ass without any shit. Just clean. It smells exactly like that.
>>
I've eaten them plenty and they've never smelled like ass. Did you or somebody else rub them on an ass?

Anyone have an awesome Lunchbox / Bentobox they can recommend? I'm looking for one that's at least:

Dishwasher Safe

I'm looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (that's Japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 2 or more kotoba (that's Japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (Korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i don't want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)

You will need: rice, ground beef (or any meat you like), mushrooms, onion, carrots, ginger, garlic, leafy greens of your preference (I'm using kale & spinach), soy sauce, vinegar, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds and green onions.
