I've been a vegan for about 2 years now. The past few months I've decided I wanted to gain some weight and bulk up. Beforehand, my diet had a big emphasis on rice/starchy vegetables, fruit, green veges, and a couple servings of legumes a day. I probably had 15% of my calories from fat in the form of nuts, seeds, and dark chocolate. Never worried about protein.
Since working out though, I've started counting my protein and have included a lot more protein rich sources. A lot more legumes, nuts, hemp, peanut butter, etc. All this fiber and fat has me seriously constipated, though. I drink a ton of water (clear urine every 2-3 hours) and eat every 3 hours or so. Switching to an easier to digest diet quickly makes me perform poorly in the gym, too.
How do I unconstipate myself?

>How do I unconstipate myself?
Eat some fucking meat.
eat less insoluble fiber and more soluble fiber.
by my experience
>>7242105
What are some common sources of these, if you don't mind? I'm pretty limited on protein options if I want to stay on point with calories
It's bagel time!

I am making White Castle sliders for dinner tonight.
I made them about a month ago and everyone in the family really liked them. They were raving about how good the sliders were.
So I am going to make them for the second time tonight.
Usually I grill our burgers but its Wintertime in Michigan and we cant do any grilling in the winter which sucks.
Sometimes we use a cast iron flat top griddle to grill inside on the gas stove but it makes alot of smoke in the house. So I dont like to do it.
But if I flip over the griddle it has a flat side instead of the bars for grilling. Usually I make Rubens with it and its great.
So I got the idea to make White Castle instead of grilling for the winter.
I made the burgers and I have some chopped onions to steam the burgers on with the griddle.
And I have little buns to eat the sliders with cheese and pickles.
Pls post updates
>chopped onions
Already doing it wrong anon, White Castle use dehydrated onions that have been soaking in water.

The temp hasn't even really dropped yet there has it? You could grill no problem.

So is Matcha tea actually good, or is it just one of the latest meme drinks?
>>7241888
meme and fad are not interchangeable terms, retard.
The expensive ones taste nice, but the price doesn't make it suitable for everyday drinking. The cheap ones taste like garbage from my own experiences with it (I've been served stuff like pic related in tea stores)
>>7241894
So if I did want to switch to mainly drinking tea, what would you suggest? I do want to try a nice matcha sometime, but the "ceremonial" blends on Amazon are 30.00 for a small tin.
>go to butcher
>ask for pork belly without skin, but with as much fat left as possible
>he does a terrible job and much of the top layer fat has been removed and skin is visible
Why? Surely of all people butchers should be able to do this job?
Next time I'll just get a whole pork belly and remove the skin myself
>>7241851
>Next time I'll just get a whole pork belly and remove the skin myself
You're learning.
Maybe it was an employee who doesn't really do much actual butchery, but mans the place and runs machinery. Why would you want the skin removed anyway?
>>7241887
It wasn't, it was an actual butcher.

Isn't this the most depressing sandwich you've ever seen?
not at all. looks like something a 6th grader would have in his lunchbox
I had a shittier looking sandwich in a hospital, and after waiting around for 6 hours with a dislocated elbow before they fixed it, it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.
>>7241831
No, that cucumber sandwich from the British bait thread is.
Plating leaves a bit to be desired, but everything tasted great.
Steak over a mushroom parmesan risotto, garlic rosemary roasted potatoes, and canadian bacon sauteed brussel sprouts.
>>7241821
I prefer a little more on the pink side. Still good though.
>>7241821
P gud, but you need to use real bacon for the sprouts. The whole point is the fat.
>>7241923
Will definitely go with the bacon next time. Canadian bacon was too subtle.
Anybody else love garlic stuffed olives?
I like mydick stuffed yourmoms
Yes... my dangerous addiction. My and the gf will just eat them with bread while watching futurama. Like a more exciting pickle
What are those rock hard, almond shaped little things they stuff them with called?
Lost a few teeth to them but soooooo worth it!
So I got a little cabin that I go to, I normally bring hot dogs and ground beef for burgers. Want to try stocking it with freeze dried/powdered goods. For something easy I'm gonna try stocking it with the stuff to make Kraft Mac and Cheese, so I'd need a powdered cheese mix, powdered milk, and powered butter. They sell these big cans of it to survivalists and I was thinking of getting in on that.
What does /ck/ think? Worth while to start stocking up on this kind of stuff or am I insane?
with almost 500 reviews and 4.5 stars still on Amazon I would say go for it. Worst that happens is you don't like it. It's not like you can keep a stock of fresh fruit and vegetables without them going bad quickly and if it's a place you just visit once in a while you can't tend a garden or anything.
This is the same I think and has almost 500 reviews if you didn't see it

Good morning all. I was wondering if anyone here, is living a self-sufficient lifestyle? At least in terms of growing/raising your own food. And if so, would you mind sharing your experiences? Preferly with lots of pics (also of the meals you've created and enjoyed), tips and general advice on this topic. Thanks.
Every year I make grape jam/cherry jam, orange marmalade, and lots of cherry baked goods. Does that count?

It sure is a start! What would the baked stuff be like - just cookies, or?
