Reminder :
-Please timestamp your submission! Detailing the cooking process/posting a vertical is encouraged but not required. If posting multiple photos, you don't need to timestamp each one, as long as the final submission photo is timestamped.
-You MUST use a unique identifier; if you don't want to use a tripcode, you must have some other way to distinguish yourself from the other contestants, such as a cute bird or scary statue in your timestamped entry, as long as it's clearly visible and you use it consistently.
Voting will be carried out in this thread. Please read the voting guidelines below.
VOTING GUIDELINES
Voting follows an 'Iron Chef' style scoring system. This means you, the people of /ck/, will judge each entry individually instead of deciding on what you feel is the "best" dish.
Dishes are scored out of a total 20 points, based on 4 categories (worth a maximum of 5 points each); Presentation, Originality, Appeal and Challenge Goals. You may award 0's if you feel the contestant did not meet your expectations for a category.
-Presentation: The appearance of items on the plate; plating skills
-Originality: Creativity in composing the dish
-Appeal: How appetizing the food looks/whether or not the dish appeals to your personal taste as a voter
-Challenge Goals: How closely the entry followed the challenge goal(s)
The distinction between Presentation and Appeal: If someone submits an artfully arranged but burnt steak as an entry, it may score high in Presentation but low in Appeal.
For additional info and to see submissions from Previous years, check out the Challenge blog. (http://ckchallenge.blogspot.ca/)

The theme of Round Five is...
Fire!
Things cooked in or on fire, flambed, bathed in flames... I don't care. Let's burn something and make it delicious. While you're perfectly welcome to make a large spread of food, please make sure there is clearly a "main dish" because that is what people will be voting on.
Two contestants will not be moving on to the next round.
And scores.
Congratulations to CookingRei for the Victory! Please get in touch with me for your prize :)
What did you have for breakfast?
Lunch?
Dinner?
What snacks have you had, if any?
Breakfast: apple-and-walnut oatmeal with cinnamon. Also, coffee with milk.
Lunch: pasta with white beans. Reheats well.
Snack: got a hotdog on my way home. With mayonnaise.
Yeah, the guy at the cart gave me that same look when I asked for a mayo packet.
Dinner: beetroot-and-mushroom soup and beetgreens pilaf.
After dinner snack: a shitty Minneola orange.
Breakfast: oatmeal with honey, a handful of almonds, a shitty coffee from the machine at work
Lunch: lentil salad with feta, pine nuts, and some parsley. Easy work food when the microwaves are being constantly hogged.
Supper: Costco rotisserie chicken, spinach, potato, beer.
Snack: more beer.
Will probably get hungry and make some kind of half-assed pesto pizza on flatbread earlier with the chicken meat and some nice parmesan that's been kicking around
Breakfast: everything bagel with cream cheese and coffee
Lunch: subway tuna footlong with pickles, jalapeƱos, tomatoes, onions and spinach
Dinner: tostadas with lomo and mole de pollo
No snacks today
Hey people. I'm not a /ck/ guy, but i request your services.
I'm a big fan of eggs, mostly since they are cheap and i'm a poorfag. so, i wanted to ask you people about omelettes, what do you put in them, tricks for them to be good, etc etc.
Basically, omelette thread
Eggs aren't cheap, they're expensive compared to any kind of staple food. The protein is also more expensive than the protein in dairy.
I like to make omelettes where the omelette is thin and acts like a crepe. Then I put ingredients in it rather than have them in the egg mixture, like rocket or baby spinach, tomatoes, bacon, etc.
>>7577630
I'm already eating a large amount of rice , breads, and drink either milk mor water, eggs are so much cheaper than meat, and i need a large amount of proteins for my job

How many people are you feeding with that america?
>>7577160
>>implying americans use the term "minced beef"
>>implying americans measure their meat in kg
Have you ever had to use a hacksaw through a lamb? It's kinda liberating for some odd reason....
>>7576943
I know I'm moderately white trash, but we had a designated hacksaw for butchering deer and goat.
>>7576943
Do you even feel like eating once you've butchered the animal?
What do YOU know about good fruit punch?
>>7576329
Go eat some fruit and punch yourself in the dick.
More than you
only clear juices, opaque ones make it look like diarrhea water
generally, good white rum, maybe some grand marnier/triple sec if its appropriate for the flavours used
a large single piece of ice, rather than many ice cubes, keeps it cold longer and doesnt water it down
How often do Americans eat burgers?
no meme reply pls
About tree fitty
considering how fat they are
one everytime they inhale
>>7574551
American here. Last burger I had was about 3 weeks ago, but I think I'm the exception on that. But in the time since I've had pizza twice and burritos three times as well, so there's that.
What does /ck/ think about this? It's bacon omelet with bacon and cheese with a side of pancakes.
Also, homemade breakfast thread.
Bacon/eggs and pancakes are two separate breakfasts in my book, and even the best pancake is still almost as unappealing as overcooked eggs.
>>7577886
Looks Ok but as a Brit, we would eat that for breakfast.
Your pancakes are too thick, our pancakes tend to be bigger but a lot thinner - you would call them crepes. But England a crepe is even thinner (almost see through).
Man I miss homemade breakfast... I never get to it anymore since we rarely have any breakfast foods.
I envy those that actually eat breakfast EVERY morning.

Not sure with beef hearts but with pork hearts you can make faggots.
>>7577610
Sorry it's not fried chicken and watermelon Tyrone
How do you make a pizza base? I've tried 3 recipes to make a decent fairly thin one and every time my base either turns out uncooked or like a pita bread.
>>7577564
200g flour, 140g water, 5g salt, 2g dry yeast.
mix flour and water, let sit for 30 minutes
add in salt and yeast and squeeze and fold it until it's all incorporated
fold once an hour for 4-5 hours
sit in fridge over two to three nights
spread
>>7577579
I think that will overproof
>>7577728
in what sense
when making a pizza dough you want the dough to go very loose.
Hi /ck/! I'm gonna start working soon and I've been thinking what are some meals I can prep in the evening that will be edible without reheating the next day. Only pic related comes to my mind so far. I'd love to see some suggestions though.
Are regular bread sandwiches gonna be edible if I make them the day before? Do I stick them into fridge or something? How about some kaiser bun sandwiches?
Please I need some suggestions and ideas here.
>>7577460
If the bread is toasted you'll be better off, but either way yeah sammiches should do fine.
Other ideas are chili, turkey burgers (cheap and easy as fuck to cook).
>>7577468
So, do I make the chili in the evening, stick in into a box, and then into the fridge?
Will it still taste decent the next day if it'll be cold, without reheating?
Can I get any more ideas?
>>7577559
Yeah in a regular container your chili is good for a few days tops. Overnight won't hurt anything.
Another idea is get some chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, and whatever else and make fajitas. Also pretty cheap. The ingredients can also be used in other meals, like the chili for instance.
