I want to buy a new chef's knife that is durable. I'm tired of having blades become dull so quickly, and I don't want to get them sharpened often.
What is a good brand for this? I was looking into Shun, but they seem overrated and more expensive than their worth.

I don't get why don't they let you drink until fucking 21 in us. I grew up on thirdworld and nobody gave a fuck picking up some beer cans when I was 15. I moved to us when I was 18 and surprised people take drugs casually but unable to buy alcohol.

Does anybody else love the shit out of vegetables, but not really care for fruit?
I have to force myself to eat it. The only fruits I like are the less sweet varieties, like grapefruit. Most others just taste way too sweet to me.
Someone suggested that maybe I'm fructose intolerant, but I don't seem to be sensitive to fruits. They just...don't appeal to me.

there's a general consensus on preparing a steak:

>salt, pepper
>place on ridiculously hot surface (cast iron, grill)
>turn once etc etc
It seems much easier to get a good steak than good French fries. What techniques do you think are best? What steps are followed by businesses that weaken their fry game?

Lot of hype around Stumptown. Only been to Portland once and went to Stumptown when there. It was good, but I don't know dick about coffee. I'm from San Diego and think Coffee & Tea Collective is the best here, just because they're the most pretentious.
I recently bought 30 pounds of hams. They were on sale. I don't usually cook ham but this was a hell of a deal.
I'm about to go shopping and I want to pick some stuff up to prepare them with. Due to poverty I only have a slow cooker and a hot plate to cook with.
